Im not sure how the first reviewers experience was SEVEN years ago - and maybe Megan wasn't all that and a bag of chips back then, but let me tell you she is now! She is an amazing photographer (and human being in general). She always keeps the photo shoot upbeat and happy - her enthusiasm and humor are contagious. She has all of the gadgets and gizmos and tricks to make your photos amazing. She has captured some of the most intimate and precious moments of our family in the past three years and I am so happy that we found her! She is amazing with kids and I joke that she is some kind of baby whisperer because they do whatever she wants. Seriously if you are within 90 minutes of her new studio (13885 Hedgewood Drive, Woodbridge, VA - Unit 237) then you need to make an appointment ASAP. You can even book her in advance. I will recommend Megan to everyone! We found Megan through a local group facebook page and were amazed by her newborn pictures. We had a newborn session, with our 5-year old son as well. She made us feel very comfortable (very accommodating, coffee too) from the second we got there. Her studio is amazing, the process was easy, and her pictures are the best. Meghan was a wonderfully nice woman, however her pictures left much to be desired. Our maternity portraits came out dark and shadowy and she claimed she wasn't able to "fix them". The poses were terrible and the lighting was non-existant! Of the 16 images we got on a disk only about 4 of them were even slightly acceptable. We hired her for our maternity and newborn photos. I did not receive the maternity session photos until the day of our newborn shoot. Our newborn shoot was terrible because she brought lighting equipment this time (why she didn't the first time I've no clue!). The two poses/pictures I really wanted she just couldn't capture or get to work so I am still very disappointed by that. She's a nice woman, and does lovely outdoor photography, but I do not recommend her for indoor portraits. read more

We have used Megan for both of our babies because she does such an amazing job. She is wonderful with newborns and has such cute accessories, backdrops, and poses. Her new studio is gorgeous and includes a play area for older siblings and a waiting area for tired newborn moms and dads to rest while she works her magic. Taking a newborn out can be stressful, but she has created such a comfortable environment and has thought of everything from diapers and wipes, to nursing pillows and drinks. I highly recommend her and can't wait to schedule our 1 year cake smash pictures! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Megan and Keys Photography! I was desperate to find a newborn photographer last minute and within a couple hours of reaching out to Keys Photography, Megan responded and was able to fit us in that week! When we met at her studio, Megan was so friendly and inviting and made my boy and myself feel comfortable and special. I did not have any specific picture poses/ outfits in mind, but told her what my style was and what baby's nursery looked like and she was flexible and styled every picture perfectly! The pictures turned out amazing and I can't wait until our next session! My husband wasn't able to attend the shoot and Megan offered for us to come back the following weekend so she could get a few family shots since this is a moment we will want to remember (no extra charge). The fact that she cared enough and wanted to make sure we had the perfect memories is another reason I will continue to use Keys Photography for all my photography needs! She took beautiful engagement and wedding photos in beautiful outdoor settings as well as an incredible boudoir session that I did as a surprise for my husband for Valentine's Day. Amazing! From working with my infant and I to get the cutest poses all the way to the final product, her work is incredible. Megan did both the newborn and 6 month photo sessions for my son and I loved the results. She even hand delivered the prints when they were done because she happened to be shooting in the area. Megan was pleasant to speak to, but lacked the professionalism I had expected. We spoke and planned over the course of 2 weeks as I wanted her to take maternity photos for my husband and I. I wanted indoor photos and the day before the scheduled shoot, she wanted to do them outside. Come to find out, in her words, her studio was a "war zone" which is why she did not want to do them at her studio. This lead me to believe that she was not as busy or into the craft as a photographer should be. She requested that I send her examples of what I was wanting to capture. I them to her in the a.m. of our scheduled shoot and she tells me at 36 weeks pregnant, after my husband took the day off from work and as we were heading to her studio from Maryland; she was not the right photographer for us! She did try to refer me to someone else, but after my encounter with her, we were not going to take a chance. Needless to say that I am livid, and don't have time now to capture one of the most amazing moments in our lives. I chalk it up as a lesson learned and that reading business reviews are extremely useful. Be careful who you trust your special moments with. read more
