As the bride, I hated hearing about this from our guests and I didn't appreciate her being there. She also adds a cleaning fee at the end that isn't included in the contract and that she never mentioned before renting. It rained the day of and she put down these vase bottoms for people to step on. When they inevitably broke, she charged us for them breaking. She also tells you that you have the venue until 11, but realistically she wants everything shut down by 9. The pros is that it is a beautiful view and we got a decent price, but other than that I would not recommend unless you are okay with her being over your shoulder and spreading negativity and her hitting you with surprise fees that she doesn't tell you about up front. She claims she serves as "security," but there is literally a police officer on site so it is redundant for her to be there (not to mention she wouldn't be able to do anything if things went wrong). It's honestly sad that she acts the way she does on one of the most important nights of peoples lives.

We tried to be overly nice to defuse the situation (my niece was getting married the next day!) but anything we requested or asked about was hit back with attitude ( meanwhile we are still drying other people's linens and towels) but the worst thing that happened was when speaking to this woman/owner on the phone about several issues with the guest house she threatens to ruin my niece's wedding. It was so brutal that we stood there in shock staring at the phone. How horrible of a human being are you to say something like this out loud to the mother of the bride. Needless to say we went back inside and never let my niece know what she had said and hoped for the best the next day. We got through the wedding the next day but to put that kind of stress on any of us for asking simply for answers to problems that should not have been was pure evil of this owner. I recommend you going somewhere that you will be appreciated.

I paid over $400 for setup and breakdown, but because Sherri refused to secure a standard $60 day-of insurance policy required by the venue, she failed to perform the services. I had to pay my coordinator extra to step in. Despite my coordinator explicitly asking Sherri not to disturb me and handling all returns directly to her home by midnight, Sherri repeatedly called and texted me during my wedding night and honeymoon. To top it off, she attempted to bill me for an additional $18 item after withholding $400 for services she never provided. Her lack of professionalism and total disregard for my wedding experience was deeply hurtful and disappointing.

But he was not at the wedding, but two of his employees were? He did not tell me he would not be at the wedding. The staff who were there did not exude a positive or cheery attitude with my guests, my vendors, or with my family. Specifically, he was rude to my mom. I refer to the staff as "DJ Timbo." My mother (I'm still incredulous at this) had to interfere when DJ Timbo blocked my bartenders in on the porch with their equipment. DJ Timbo even floated the idea of an additional setup fee since he had to move his equipment off the porch after his initial set up on the porch (this was NEVER in our plan in the first place and Kim never mentioned this to me) to the lawn - which was the original plan when he and I were coordinating in person. The original plan was for the bartenders to be on the porch, always. The rain plan was for the bartenders to set up inside the Baker, or inside the Blue House, and the DJ would be on the porch. But the rain plan was not needed. DJ Timbo (and my wedding planner) thought music had to stop at 10pm or we would be fined due to a sound ordinance. A staff from the setup/tear down team called the Argenta police to inquire. We only had to turn down the music to be compliant. The Baker is a downtown venue where bars and restaurants are just down the street. When we found out the music could continue, we had already played our final 2 exit songs, which was so disappointing! When I told staff at the Baker what had happened, they were shocked because the sound ordinance should have been a non-issue. Guests were under the impression that dancing would stop and the reception would potentially need to move to a bar down the street because my husband and I were given the wrong information. DJ Timbo started to tear down about 10:15pm even though we had paid him through 11pm. My mom stopped him. Also, DJ Timbo played 3 group dance songs in a row, which felt excessive. I would have preferred them to be split up throughout the night, or have 1-2 normal songs in between.
