Data Detect were honest about the likelihood of recovery and turned around a super quick quote for the repair. They communicated in easy terms what was going on and talked through some options and ways to prevent this in future. In my case my HDD was not cost effective to recover the data so I will just take the lesson on the chin this time! On the day of installation they arrived with all of our devices ready to go and installed them very quickly. After a few setup issues because of our wifi (which they ended up fixing afterwards) we had a brand new smart home system that has been even better than I expected.
