In our case, we had rather complicated travel plans involving a month-long stay in Turkey and Greece this spring, which required various intercountry flights, in coordination with our itinerary with another travel company. He got us all flights to align perfectly with the itinerary, and made sure we were perfectly up to date with all instructions of the other travel company, and took all time we needed for hints and warnings. Beware the "you've won a cruise" scam. Don't fall for it!…read moreThey call you at home and say you've won an all-expenses-paid cruise (including airfare). Supposedly, the only requirement is that you need to stop by the office downtown to pick up your voucher. When you show up, a fast-talking person greets you but then refuses to even discuss your "prize" until after 2 hours of fast-talking high pressure sales pitches to buy in on timeshares. Ultimately, you learn that the "prize" is not what was promised. I tried to be very diplomatic in addressing the salesman but he wouldn't listen to us and wouldn't answer our questions until he had prattled on for almost 2 hours! He was so intent on telling us 200x that he had once been a vice president somewhere that he didn't realize he was the only one in the conversation. We repeatedly told him that we were not interested in buying anything but that we were instructed to "stop by to complete the paperwork for our free cruise" and that was the only reason we were there. Needless to say, nothing was as promised. Contrary to what we were promised, the cruise was not all-expenses-paid, it did not include airfare, the options were not anything that I would have chosen, and it would cost me more to accept their voucher than it would for me to just buy my own tickets directly. :( The last touch of irony is that we were told that if we were still interested in the cruise, we needed to call someone else to get our voucher (that was the ENTIRE reason we stopped in to this office in the first place). What an epic waste of a night! Luring people in under such blatantly false circumstances should be illegal. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from these folks!
