They have a Facebook page/or Instagram? We just moved from California and we are looking for a new vet for Max. I would like to read and see more information. Thank you!

Facebook is Animal Medical Hospital of State College. They are the only vet my fur baby has seen for 11+ years. Highly recommended!

Great practice and I've referred many Serious Pet Owners to Dr. Kocher…read more She took very good care of my senior Shih Tzu, Peppi during his advanced years and she listened to what I had to say of his symptoms, and she was very honest and ethical and did diagnostics such as bloodwork and X rays and prescribed heart pills accordingly. She never once tried to take me over in more than the needed diagnostics at all but did state there are additional options such as ultrasound and others if I was open to it which I was not. She never pressured me for more than what was needed to make a solid diagnoses however did let me know other diagnostics were available. She really cared about Peppi and understood he was my family. On two occasions she or Dr. Blizzard 'made time' for me when Peppi needed in same day due to being old and having heart problems which most all very old little doggies get if they live long enough. Dr. Kocher always explained everything of what was going on with him and she explained what happens in very old dogs with congestive heart and heart valve problems. She put the stethoscope right in my ears and had me listen to his heart beat which even I without any medical training could tell was bad but then explained why the valves weren't beating his heart right and after the blood work and x ray came back went over the blood work and showed me the enlargement of his heart on the x ray. She prescribed appropriate medications and her med fees are in line with all the other vets in the centre region and she didn't take me in this area. Her staff is so nice and very intelligent. These people cared about my dog and I was with State College Veterinary hospital for about 5 years as I moved here with my dog Peppi . Peppi had great care and I was treated very, very well. I like a one or two vet practice myself as the vet or vets know my dog and I'm not just a chart for a vet at a large multi vet practice. At a large multi vet practice and they do a great job also but really, I want the same vet or two vets only as I think the benefit to the animal is better in a one or two vet practice. The costs are in line with all other vet practices in the centre region. It's a small two vet practice which is a bonus for me, she isn't afraid to explain anything that's going on in common language, she will, or Dr. Blizzard, if really need be make time for a senior dog needing to be seen same day. I recommend this practice highly. If you are a Serious Pet Owner and care about the health and welfare of your pet this is the place for you.

All the ladies who helped trim her nails and administer her rabies vaccine were just amazing; they were so upbeat and pleasant! I plan on taking my other dog there. I have had several experiences with this animal hospital and I have nothing but positive things to…read moresay. I moved into the area last year and unfortunately soon after settling in my dog tore his ACL and needed a TPLO surgery. This was his second TPLO surgery in 7 months, so I was extremely upset (as its a costly surgery and the recovery time is a long 6 months) and I was fairly savvy about the process by this point. I do have to say that the surgery price was higher ($4,000) than what I paid for his first TPLO surgery in Florida ($2,800). I do understand that costs vary by market, hospital, and situation. As they are the only vet within 200 miles that does this surgery, I am going to pay more for the specialty. I have worked in rescue for years so I have a fairly good idea of what to expect when it comes to medical procedures and price. Metzger's was very sympathetic to the fact that I had just paid thousands of dollars on a TPLO surgery 7 months prior and that I had just finished up a costly move. They worked with me on the price and got it down to what I felt was a more than fair price. They also treated my dog wonderfully and everyone I encountered was extremely professional and caring. Their facility is clean, state of the art, and their staff is knowledgable. It is a bit more expensive than your standard vet, but the peace of mind knowing my pets are in good hands is worth the few dollars more.

All of that was taken away after he was treated for the constipation. It is obvious that whomever handled him was overly rough. He could not walk, was in severe pain in his hind legs and hip joints. I do not know who handled him, I did call to let the admin know about his condition. No further communication from.them has been received. I guess they really do not care. They got their $900. I will never recommend them, this place needs more oversight.

Dr. Cruden gave my bunny Frodo tender loving care from his first wellness visit through to his euthanasia eight years later. Frodo loved Dr. Cruden (I just know) and Dr. Cruden treated him in kind. He and his staff handled Frodo with care and sensitivity especially on his final day. They took the edge off my grief and now my baby rests in a sweet little carved box. He will be with me and in my heart for an eternity. I'll be getting another bunny in June and already Dr. Cruden has accepted him as his patient. I look forward to dealing with All Pets in the near future.

They have helped us through everything with our animals from new puppies to sending our 19 year old Lab over the rainbow bridge. They could not have been better, kinder, more helpful to us. Dr. Crudens knows his stuff, but won't overmedicate or over-treat for things that can be resolved with dietary changes or simple fixes. The one emergency we had with out cat who caught a virus and required fluids, special diet and an overnight stay. The bill was less than I anticipated. Pet ownership is expensive, but in State College, All Pets is probably the most reasonably priced vet, and the care cannot be beat!

We received a call back in less than 10 minutes informed it was the best decision to come in. At the clinic, after calls and check ins, the vet tech, brought our dog in from the car (probably around 20-25 minute process). The vet tech was kind and spoke to our dog nicely to ease her in. They took the necessary care to help our dog out. It is nerve wracking to wait in the car but I can understand that it may be better to wait separately from the care facility. We were relieved and they called us immediately to let us know & close out our visit. I don't have price comparisons as I haven't went to the emergency vet before. However, the price wasn't alarming compared to normal vet prices for an 80 pound dog. I appreciated that this was clear, concise, and that they stuck to the care we thought our dog needed. Thankful for the care and assistance from the staff.

We waited for over six hours without being seen. At one point, we were placed in an exam room, only to be moved out and left waiting in an open area with my reactive dog, which created an uncomfortable and stressful situation. After waiting all that time, we were told that they didn't believe my dog's condition was serious enough to be seen and were advised to leave and call back in the morning to see if they had availability. What made this especially upsetting is that my dog had a prolapsed anus, which is a painful condition that I felt warranted prompt medical attention. I understand that emergency clinics have to prioritize patients based on severity, but after such a long wait and the way the situation was handled, I left feeling disappointed and concerned about the level of care and communication we received.
