Keystone has been an amazing place for our complex cat care (Shout out Dr. Jackson and Cindy). Keystone cares so deeply about the animals they treat. We have been working with them and a specialist in NY and it has been a great relationship for our cats unique medical issues. Keystone was willing to work and learn from the specialists, all while following up quickly with local bloodwork/ treatments. The staff is very friendly, the office is clean and welcoming and we have not had issues schedling an appointment. Cannot recommend Keystone enough especially those going through complex medical situations with their animals. All the staff is amazing but Dr. Jackson & Cindy have really made strefful situations easier. read more

Very upset. I HAD been a customer for over 25 years. Due to covid lockdown and illness I was unable to bring my cats for multiple years. Luckily they were healthy. I called recently to make an appointment and was told that since I hadn't been there for a while that I would have to pay a 75 dollar new client fee. This news was delivered very rudely. I pet sit and have sent all of my clients to this vet because of the care and good service. Perhaps an email to alert people of this policy ? Very sad to look for a new vet and the lack of compassion from their front desk staff. Especially at a time when my cat is now ill and in distress. read more

I have been taking my dogs to AMH for over 20 years now and you will never find a more dedicated, caring, compassionate staff. Dr. Mason and his long-term vet techs Crystal, Cindy, and Trish are amazing! They are willing to work long hours if necessary to provide excellent care to their client's pets. Right now we are dealing with a complex issue with my dog and they have been right there working through it with me. I can't thank them enough. Recently I found out that Dr. Mason is no longer the managing veterinarian and I was shocked! I'm not sure why this decision was made but Corporate really blew it this time! He is the reason this office made it through Covid and is still in business. For months he was the only veterinarian there. He deserves to be treated in a manner that shows how much he is appreciated and valued not given a slap in the face. I hope they realize their mistake and reward him appropriately. Bottom line as long as this staff is here you won't go wrong bringing your precious pets to this practice. read more

Our go to vet. There new(ish) location is much bigger and newer than the old location which has since been torn down and replaced with a Taco Bell. The staff are wonderful and caring. Crystal, on of the vet techs, is an amazing human and has taken phenomenal care of our dogs over the years. The new online scheduling system is great and very easy. Highly recommended!!! read more

This is the place to go for professional pet care in the Centre Region. Not that I have ever really shopped around, but in over 10 years and several pets, they have always been fantastic. Professional, top notch veterinary care (by all doctors) coupled with friendly, caring staff. They remember Gus & Chino by name, always ask how "the boys" are doing. I originally was not planning on doing this but I feel other cat owners should know! I brought in my cat to get her nails trimmed and to have her skin & worm/flea issue checked on. Upon the first visit she had fleas, flea eggs & flea larvae. She was prescribed a medication that only treated fleas. They also "forgot" to trim her nails. Suffice to say the medication did nothing for her. Not to mention that medication ended up being the most expensive medication at that time. I had to make a second visit upon learning of a mediation that treated, fleas, flea larvae, flea eggs & even tape worm! Surprisingly that medication was much cheaper than the flea only Rx. I purchased it and still made a followup appointment for a checkup and to get her nails trimmed. Upon that third visit Joan made a complete turnaround and even gained some much needed healthy weight! If it wasn't for me doing the research & getting the right medication she would have gotten worse! They also "forgot" to trim her nails a second time!! By the end of all this I spent hundreds of dollars on the wrong medication, visits & "pet fees". Joan received mediocre attention and they refused to trim her nails for some reason. The only thing I received was a 15% off one of my visits to them. Why I had to pay for a mediation that my cat did not need is beyond me!? Especially since it was the most expensive of four that Joan could have been prescribed for. Seems like a business decision to make more money off of a concerned animal lover! read more

I take my cats here, and everyone has been very friendly. My cat's first exam and vaccines went well and the vet was great, and then we brought my one cat to get neutered and everything went well again. A few weeks ago, I found tapeworm segments in one of my cats' stool, and I was able to get an appointment right away to get both of them examined. They both were given medicine for the tapeworms (and the vet was especially great with my one cat who HATES taking pills), and the vet recommended one of my cats have a dental visit, which I was also able to set up there. Overall, they are great and seem to really care about animals there. My only concern is the high prices of vaccines, bloodwork, and the dental visit - I feel like I could get it cheaper elsewhere(the dental meds the vet is going to give can be bought on Amazon for a lot cheaper than they are giving), but I continue to choose AMH because my pets are happy there. read more

Took my cat for rain worm test. Doctor said the result will be out in two weeks. Waited three weeks to get the result. No body called or emailed. My boyfriend took my cat for today's appointment. He had been waiting for 50minutes for the doctor to come back from his lunch. Not efficient at all. We waited 30minutes for last time's appointment, too. read more

Extremely friendly and they are willing to do anything to help your pet. They are quick when you need an appointment. The only weird part is the entrance is on the front of the building which faces North Atherton street. On its own, not that big of a deal. But I'm always paranoid that my dog will break his leash and run into traffic. So, just make sure to have a good hold on your animal when you walk from the parking lot to the entrance. read more

We moved to State College a few months ago and decided to take our dog to Animal Medical Hospital after reading reviews of the various vets around town. It was definitely the right decision. We had an appointment with Dr. O'Connell and she was very sweet and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be returning with our pup. read more

We have been taking our pets to Animal Medical Hospital for about 25 years now. They have always been caring, well informed and not afraid to consult resources to make sure our pets get the care they need. Over the years, we have taken our cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs and exotic finches and each has gotten excellent care. We take all 3 of our dogs to AMH and have always received top notch care. The entire staff is friendly and their concern for the pets they are treating shows. They always greet the dogs by name and the dogs react to their friendly tone of voice. The medical staff always explains what they are doing and what I should expect to see as a result of any treatment. Our own dogs and a couple of dogs we were fostering needed neutering and some serious dental care and the dogs all recovered from the operations without any complications. I trust them to do whatever is needed to keep my dogs in the best of health. read more

Took our dog in to see the vet for a knee injury. She's been limping for a couple of weeks and it is getting worse. The vet said the injury wasn't serious and that he didn't have time to do an x-ray which was the entire reason that we were paying to see a vet. We ended up paying $40 (with a coupon) to hear that it could be arthritis and that we should give her joint supplements. Now, we have to visit another vet who will take enough time to x-ray and diagnosis the injury. read more

We have lived in state college for the last 13 years and have always had great veterinarian care at AMH. But Dr. Baldys is a terrible vet and we would never recommend anyone have him take care of their animal. He botched the euthanasia of our 17 year old cat, who died terribly--moaning, dry heaving, in pain, and panicked. He did something wrong to her in the back room when prepping her for the procedure. We had another elderly cat euthanized several months previously uneventfully by Dr. Mason, so we had something recent to compare how the procedure should have been. I gave AMH feedback at the time, but am motivated to provide a bad review publically now after learning today that a friend had a similar experience with Dr. Baldys this week--their cat required emergency intervention at another facility to save his life after being seen by Dr. Baldys. At this point I am not certain whether he is merely inept, or purposefully harming his patients. read more

Dr. Friedlander has been our vet since we moved her 11 years ago. He's not only a wonderful doctor who I totally trust with the care of my pets, but he's so very kind and caring. He always includes me in the decision making which is extremely important. The staff is the best. They know my animals and me by name. Cindy Swartz is the best vet tech I've ever known. read more
