This is one of the better food options on the turnpike at the fort drum rest stop. The food is fresh and like most kfcs except like at all the eating places here in the food court, the prices are a bit higher than usual. They open around 11 am I think (you'll have to check), so we got there fairly early. We ordered a 3 piece tenders combo which comes with a biscuit, one side, and a medium drink. We chose coleslaw for our side. We added on another individual side of mashed potatoes, and another 3 pieces of tenders (chicken only). This was more than enough to share. We actually had a bit of leftovers to take with us. The chicken was good -- all white meat and crispy. I got honey mustard for a dipping sauce and my husband and got their hot sauce. It was a good lunch/snack for on the road... fast and filling. And a touch healthier than getting donuts or a burger. read more

Not the best KFC experience I have had. I came to eat here as I stopped at the Fort Drum service plaza and needed something to eat... I wasn't in the mood for anything else at the other places to eat...I wanted some fried chicken. First you need to understand that this is a KFC express and not a full KFC so it does not have a full menu... I looked at the menu and decided to have a chicken sandwich and some potato wedges... I ordered that meal that came with the drink. I waited a bit for my meal to be completed...and when my order was called I went up and was given the sandwich by a rather sourly man working there. He had the food as a eat in order when I had expressly told him it was to go...i swear he had a visible scowl on his face. He then handed the bag to me with an attitude. When I then asked for my cup to get my drink it was like I told him I ran over his dog... he handed to cup to me again with a scowl on his face.... don't know where they teach these people customer service. I could eat anywhere else in this service plaza or go somewhere else. Geez service with a smile folks. The sandwich was good...not the best chicken sandwich I have had certainly not even a particularly good one but it did the trick. The potato wedges were wonderful...but was given few. Horrible service at this service plaza KFC. Quite a large line waiting to order with just one person taking orders. I finally place my order for some chicken fingers and coleslaw... pretty simple. I wait right there next to the counter... and wait... and wait... then I start hearing them call out order 15 and 17 and I look at my order number and it's 12. I go up to the counter and ask about order 12. They tell me they already called that one out... no. I've been standing here the whole time, I saw them hand every single order out. Whatever she "remakes" it and I finally leave to go eat it in the RV. I ordered 6 chicken strips, 3 for me and 3 for my gf. When we go to eat them theres only 5 strips. I also have vague memories of being at this same KFC previously and also having issues. read more

I'm giving one star because i can't give less. What a train wreck. Words fail me to explain the sad state this KFC is in. I don't have high expectations of fast food joints, especially in a plaza... but this is a new low. The staff barely speaks english or knows what any of the foods are. They couldn't understand honey... the customer after me was reading his order off his receipt because the staff had no idea what to include. Not to mention being out of fried chicken. FRIED CHICKEN AT KFC... out of it. How does that happen? The side of we got was cold and over cooked. This place is a sad example of how fast food fails on so many levels. read more
