Last month, after seeing one of the employees posting referring to a different customer's child as a "crotch goblin" and joking that if the customer's 3 year old took an adult dose of blood pressure medication it wouldn't be a bad thing I decided it was worth driving further for my kids to be safe. I do not know the customer the Publix pharmacy employee was speaking about, but the story went somewhat viral on the local Facebook pages and it was very believable based on my own experience with Publix Pharmacy in Pell City. Before this final straw they had shown me a consistent pattern of incompetence and unprofessional behavior. In spite of our insurance being the same month to month, inevitably when I would refill our prescriptions each month, without fail, they would neglect to run someone's prescriptions on insurance and I would have to insist they run it and wait. Once, I wasn't paying attention and paid full price and getting a refund took forever. During the last presidential election the employees were holding up and showing off obnoxiously political shirts and merch they had purchased while at least 5 customers waited in line to pick up prescriptions at the counter. The wait is always long, they are frequently out of stock on common maintenance medications, the employees are rude and the culture of prioritizing socializing with coworkers over helping customers is at best acceptable to management. Switching to a different pharmacy was a hassle and Publix did not send over all of my children's records when the new pharmacy requested them which led to a lot of back and forth and frustration. But, in the end it was worth it for the peace of mind that people who take their jobs seriously will be handling my children's prescriptions in the future.

It took the staff a few minutes before someone greeted us to take our order. They weren't busy. My daughter ordered the gravy biscuit combo with mac n cheese as her side. The mac n cheese was cold. It is supposed to be served hot. She also got a bo-berry cookie, which was also cold. I got a 2-piece dinner with coleslaw and fries, a drink, and the peach cobbler. My chicken was flavorful and juicy, but the skin was soggy and gummy. I want that crunch when I'm getting fried chicken. That should be your pride and joy! Do it well!! It was disappointing. The fries were good, as was the cobbler. But the coleslaw wasn't creamy like it normally should be. It looked like it had been made a couple of days ago. Drinks were okay, but the soda station literally stunk like old and sour something. My daughter used to work in fast food. She said the entire thing needs to be deep cleaned. I would agree. It should NOT smell like that!! There is no telling what people are getting in their drinks!! I don't know when or if I'll be back. I was let down and vastly underwhelmed at the service, the food we were served, and the fact that the drink station smelled as bad as it does. Do better, Bojangles. You have one job.. chicken. Train your employees to make an effort. I don't know if it was just an off day or what, but all of that is unacceptable.

A couple of our guests ordered the pot roast special and complained about the really small portion of roast received in comparison to the vegetables. It was brought to our servers' attention, but she just stated that's all that came with the special. I ordered the Fried Liver which was adequate. The fried okra and broccoli casserole was lukewarm. Overall, the food was subpar. As far as the the restaraunt, it is older and outdated. Expect no thrills and although it's a "steakhouse", I wouldn't trust eating a steak here.
