Instead of being told what we need, being pressured into a sale, having numbers and data thrown at us to try to make our mind up for us, our meeting with Chris was more like having a cup of coffee with an old friend and talking about a project we had in mind. He does a great job of listening to what you want and exchanging ideas, not forcing his upon you. Once you've settled on a plan, he communicates regularly and oversees everything from start to finish. Chris from Main Street was quick to respond and we set up an on-site consult for later in the week. I knew which windows (4 of them) I wanted replaced since an Anderson Renewal guy had come out separately to inspect & provide a quote. Chris from Main Street was extremely kind, helpful, and upfront. I chose them ultimately because of this pleasant meeting, urgency for the replacement, and fair price. He was my only point of contact the whole job which was nice and he was on top of communicating things throughout the whole process. We also have siding being replaced so he communicated with my other contractor to coordinate timing. Pricing was very reasonable compared to Renewal but more expensive than a DIY vinyl install because of the window quality. I wanted a window that would last and was willing to pay more. The Anderson 100 series installed was literally half the cost of what Renewal had quoted me (I believe they quoted the 300 series) but are very high quality windows regardless and we really like them. There are some minor aesthetic defects from the manufacturing of the windows (pictured here) but they can be trimmed off very easily and aren't a concern. The installer Dre came in with Dan as support and they did a beautiful job. I had plenty of notice beforehand and they finished the job exactly as estimated (about 6 hours) after cleaning up very nicely. All in all, I thought Main Street Windows had a competitive price, I appreciated their recommendation for the product, they did a great job communicating, and the windows look great.

The owner of this company has NO INTEGRITY. He was hired to work with my insurance company to…read morerepair water damage reconstruction. On the day we met, he requested half be paid on the total project before the insurance came back with the estimate. The insurance came back with a quote covering 1/4 of the total project. I thought this quote was unacceptable. I informed the owner I could not continue with the project due to the cost. I had already paid him half of the total project and per his contract I owned him $5000 to terminate the contract. Nothing had been ordered for the project. All he did for $5000 was measure rooms. After hiring a new contractor, I was informed his measurements were INACCURATE and he had based his estimate on wrong figures. The owner indicated that he had experience working with insurance companies. He was supposed to submit the carpet for analysis so I could get quality determined for replacement cost. He informed me that carpet replacement analysis was the insurance company's responsibility, so he did not submit the carpet for analysis potentially costing me more money. After terminating the contract, I contacted another company and found out that he should have not requested money until the insurance came back with a quote. The new contractor worked with my insurance company, did the carpet analysis, and I received almost 100% replacement cost. Losing $5000 to this company was an INJUSTICE. AVOID at all costs.
