I was referred to Dr. Eddy for medication management by my therapist a few years ago. I admit that…read moreI was skeptical of med management vs. traditional therapy, but I find that Dr. Eddy is very informed and supportive. He is good at explaining the reasons for recommended medications or "tools" for a better, more productive life. He has an ease in his interactions that I appreciate.

First off, I must preface my review that I currently live in Vernon which, on a good day is a half…read morehour drive to Dr. Eddy's office...up to an hour on a bad day! That said, I would still continue as a patient of his regardless of the drive time or traffic. I see him for treatment of Adult ADHD and depression and his is head and shoulders above any other psychiatrist I have ever been to. He is professional, courteous and above all else, punctual! I cant tell you how many Dr.s i've had in the past who have made me wait, sometimes up to an hour, past our scheduled times. On occasion, i've even been taken early. He is young, personable, has a tremendous knowledge in his field and takes the time to explain how any prescriptions he writes work on the brain and any adverse side effects they may have. I dont feel like "patient 24601" during our sessions; he takes a moment to just see how i'm doing over all and asks about my family by name and now "...and how are things with your spouse and 2 dependents?" Definitely the best experience i have had with a doctor anywhere! His office isn't too far from West Hartford Center, which is a definite plus for when I need to get some shopping in before or after an appointment!

Dr Oniyuke and Dr Walker are my heroes. They both saved my life when I needed a complicated C6-T2…read moredecompression and fusion, and my PCP refused to refer me. They are both 5 stars. My review goes to 3 stars because I noticed a buprenophine patch was in my list of medications. Nobody would remove it. I called the patient portal help desk. I used the portal to message Dr Oniyuke APRN. She says she can't remove it. I ended up in the ER 5/24/2026 due to a side effect from a pain medication a new provider prescribed for ongoing heaviness where my decompression fusion was. They treated me like a junkie. I had a headache, vertigo, nausea and high BP164/99. They gave me nausea med in an IV. The paperwork in the car on the way home, showed that stupid patch at the top of my medication list. This is what I was trying to avoid. No department would listen to me. I finally wrote a bad review and some lady called. She didn't care how I was doing. She cared about the review. Yale walk in clinic in Manchester figured out I was sick from the waxy coating on the beads inside the pain medicine capsule! They researched the medication. They did NOT have that patch in my EPIC medication list. UCONN has finally removed it. Writing a crappy review will be the first thing I do from now on. It's all they care about. I remember the doctor whose name I won't reveal saying, "we can only give you Tylenol". I said I have pain medication. He replied with, "you're not suppose to be in 2 pain clinics." I'm not. Your hospital refused to update my meds. That made me so angry. They lost stars for refusing to listen to a patient that's had several surgeries there. They only care to protect the hospital. No integrity. Deleting a medication should not have taken 5 months. What if I arrived unconscious?

I want people to know what these people did to me…read more I came to UConn February 2024 for a routine colonoscopy. I had a long history of colon problems and did this every 5 years. When the procedure was done, I was told I was in great shape and didn't need to come back for 10. Well, 90 days later I was back in their er with abdominal pain. I was given a dose of strong pain meds and when it wore off I was told to leave. I asked what I was to do when the pain returned and was told I was to just go. I have no recall of seeing a doctor that night. 30 days later I was at Manchester memorial complains of the same problem. They did a ct scan and told me that half my colon was infected. I went to icu and was on strong antibiotics for about 30 days. The antibiotics failed to correct the issue and , after 30 days I was transferred to Hartford hospital where my large intestine was removed . I now have a permanent ileostomy. When I complained about this, John Dempsey listened, at first, then my calls went largely unanswered. My life will never be the same. I have diet restrictions, and the starts to kidney disease, "unfortunate side effects ". I will tell my story to anyone who wants to hear it. This hospital is a joke and should be avoided.
