Hmmmm I don't really get the hype and the close to 5 star review of this place. We got the coconut pancakes and... they were just alright? Tastes like pan fried milk but with coconut milk instead. Nothing amazing but not bad - would definitely consider trying other things in the borough market!

OMYGOD. Thai street food. I LOVE thai street food, at least from what I've tried from Khanom Krok in Borough Market. It's a rather new stall, I popped along one Wednesday afternoon before going to Brighton, because I had half hour to kill and I like to eat. So it's a bit hidden in the green market area, but by god, it smells and looks amazing. They were selling these cute little tiny pancakes and I like cute tiny foods. they make me smile and feel like a giant because I'm only 4ft11 and I need some comfort about my height. So initially, I wanted to buy a half portion but I wasn't allowed and I can see why, about a minute later, all 8 mini pancakes were gone, devoured, and savoured. They're like filled with heavenly coconut milk and it was light, creamy and JUST.SO.GOOD. I want another portion of 8 now. I know coconut milk is bad for me, but SO GOOD. *drools* (I think I also salivated on the train back from brighton, Sinja and Alex had to snap me out of it...)

We kept seeing people with delicious looking pad thai while wandering through Borough Market, so went in search of the fare. We found Khanom Krok, and though there was a fairly long line (10-15 people), it went relatively quickly, to where we had our chicken pad thai and vegetarian pad thai in hand about 10 minutes later. It did not disappointment - it was quite delicious. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that the wait was slightly awkward. Though the line went quickly, there were lots of other people trying to get in and around their stand, so the line awkwardly ran around and behind the stand. This also meant those trying to join the line were occasionally confused. We also were asked our order while waiting, and paid someone in cash, even though we were still 5-8 people behind. It all ended up working out fine, but it did feel slightly odd to be handing over your money when so far back in line without any proof that you paid. (You just sort-of had to trust that he would remember.) It all worked out in the end, though.

The coconut pancakes are so so so good. Definitely pricey but worth it for a unique sweet treat. I think it was £4-5? You get a light tray with 8 of them. It's crispy on the bottom but maintains a coconut pudding layer on top. Loved it.

Pad Thai was legit. The egg and nuts in this dish were really tasty. Their coconut pancake is a must!!! Not overly sweet and had a very addictive coconut flavour to it.

I was browsing the different food stalls in Borough Market, wanting to try everything that it had to offer and saw a huge line of people waiting to try this place. Too lazy to wait in line, I decided to come back early the next day and try out this place before I left to go home. While this deviated from my mindset of wanting to try authentic British food, I'm glad that I ate at this food stand. The chicken pad thai was everything that I wished for. It was the perfect combination of sweet, sour, and salt, and I couldn't stop eating it. I have to admit, it was probably some of the best pad thai I've had in my life, and I can't believe that it was in a tiny food stall in London.

Coconut pancakes are a must. Custard and sweet and light. I'd eat a hundred of them! 5 pound minimum for card, but there's an ATM nearby.

The friendly bloke who runs this stand apparently operates a few other ones around London including the halloumi and mezze stand on the end of Leather Lane Market. Whilst chatting with him as my wrap was being prepared, I discovered that Victus & Bibo used to be a juice and coffee stand in the mornings and a food prep area for other stands. Currently, they're sorting the inside of this stand to eventually be a breakfast stop for coffees, juices, and porridge, as well as continuing to serve lunch. In fact, rumour has it they've netted a World Barista Champion to serve up the java! As far as the actual grub goes, I was merrily satisfied with my 'lamb bread': ground meat, veg, sauces, with grilled halloumi for one quid extra. It's quite the affordably filling lunch at £4.50 that won't leave you feeling like you just consumed a gut bomb (I'm looking at you, Chilango).

When we visited they only had one option, the amazing halloumi salad (you could choose salad with spicy chicken+ halloumi...or just with halloumi.) As there was only one option, the line moved forward pretty quickly as the two ladies behind the counter quickly threw together amazing salads for all the hungry folks in the queue. I loved it. The salad itself is tasty, the humus is gorgeous, they give you a good splash of yogurt, and both the halloumi and the chicken were perfect.

It's about all they're serving, but trust me, it's enough. The duck confit burgers come with your choice of 3 different cheeses, bleu cheese, raclette, or goat's cheese. Personally, I'm not the biggest cheese fan, and always go for the raclette, as it's milder. What makes the burgers even better is the truffle mayo- and if you're lucky, truffle honey- that they're putting on them, which makes the flavors pop all the more. The chips also come with a huge dollop of truffle mayo on top. One setback I would say to the whole operation is the usual lack of seating wherever these guys are to be found. If you don't have friends with you, that means you need to either only order one thing to hold it with one hand and eat with the other, or make a friend fast, to help share the load. Still, it is one of THE best burgers- duck, or otherwise- I've ever had, so I'm not complaining... too much. At £8 a pop- or £10 including the chips- it may not be the cheapest- nor the healthiest- thing you can find on the streets, but it's definitely worth every pence.

The Frenchie was a new addition to the Real Food lineup and upon reading "Duck Confit Brioche Bun" I knew that my old favorites didn't stand a chance. Since then, I have bumped into The Frenchie stands in several markets across London. I've tried everything they have to offer (they're all so amazing). Here's my quick rundown. Duck fat fries with truffle mayo £4 (i think?) omgsogood. like too good. I get these as a walking around snack almost every time I see this stand. Perfect to munch on while you're making the difficult decision of what to eat. Duck confit brioche bun £6 duck confit cooked on a flat top with duck cracklin (omg) and your choice of cheese. In order of my preference: goat cheese with honey, blue cheese with honey, cheddar. The bun is griddled with duck fat and the sandwich is built with mustard, onion jam and rocket. It's divine. Also, if you have your phone out and show them you liking/following The Frenchie on social media they'll give you £1 off. Jussayin. Go here.
