Khanom Krok is a hidden gem inside Borough Market! They were a pleasant surprise during our visit. Their stand is near the giant steps seating area. There are also some tabletops near the vendor. The second Mink saw them, I knew we were going to grab food from here. Everyone was friendly and spoke Thai but also very good English. You can dine there or get to go boxes. We ended up ordering Pad Kra Pow with pork. Portion wise, it was perfect and leaves you content. They didn't take long to have our order out. The box smelled great but the taste was AROI MAK (delicious)! It tasted better than places back home in Hawai'i and the price is so inexpensive in comparison. It's not Thailand cheap but it was extremely economical compared to our usual standards. If you're craving Thai and plan to visit Borough Market or nearby, you need to check this spot out! read more

I went here about 5 years ago. Randomly stumbling upon this cart at the Borough market. I saw the coconut pancakes and just had to try it. I am so glad that I did because at that moment. It was the best thing I ate during my trip to London. I couldn't stop thinking about it. And finally I was able to make my return here. The coconut pancakes are still delicious But they didn't give me a fresh batch. That was the difference maker. But it was still amazing nonetheless. I will request it fresh next time I come again. I had the chicken curry and, while I liked the dish itself, I wasn't crazy about the chicken. I honestly think it's because I'm not a huge fan of chicken thighs and that's what was used, so it was more of an "it's not you it's me" situation. read more

Hmmmm I don't really get the hype and the close to 5 star review of this place. We got the coconut pancakes and... they were just alright? Tastes like pan fried milk but with coconut milk instead. OMYGOD. Thai street food. I LOVE thai street food, at least from what I've tried from Khanom Krok in Borough Market. It's a rather new stall, I popped along one Wednesday afternoon before going to Brighton, because I had half hour to kill and I like to eat. So it's a bit hidden in the green market area, but by god, it smells and looks amazing. They were selling these cute little tiny pancakes and I like cute tiny foods. they make me smile and feel like a giant because I'm only 4ft11 and I need some comfort about my height. So initially, I wanted to buy a half portion but I wasn't allowed and I can see why, about a minute later, all 8 mini pancakes were gone, devoured, and savoured. They're like filled with heavenly coconut milk and it was light, creamy and JUST.SO.GOOD. I want another portion of 8 now. For my first street foodie experience, I really enjoyed the Pad Thai that I got. I don't know exact flavors because I had never ordered this kind of food before so I asked for what the person in front of me received. The line moves reasonably quickly, you get generous helping sizes, and flavorful food. I ended up full before finishing the entire meal. We kept seeing people with delicious looking pad thai while wandering through Borough Market, so went in search of the fare. We found Khanom Krok, and though there was a fairly long line (10-15 people), it went relatively quickly, to where we had our chicken pad thai and vegetarian pad thai in hand about 10 minutes later. It did not disappointment - it was quite delicious. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that the wait was slightly awkward. Though the line went quickly, there were lots of other people trying to get in and around their stand, so the line awkwardly ran around and behind the stand. This also meant those trying to join the line were occasionally confused. We also were asked our order while waiting, and paid someone in cash, even though we were still 5-8 people behind. It all ended up working out fine, but it did feel slightly odd to be handing over your money when so far back in line without any proof that you paid. (You just sort-of had to trust that he would remember.) It all worked out in the end, though. read more

The coconut pancakes are so so so good. Definitely pricey but worth it for a unique sweet treat. I think it was £4-5? You get a light tray with 8 of them. It's crispy on the bottom but maintains a coconut pudding layer on top. Loved it. read more

Just okay. Not the best. For about 7 euros you get a medium size container of pad Thai. The noodles felt undercooked to me- a little crunchy/staleness (never what you want for pad Thai). Flavor is a little bland. I could def use either more sauce or some cilantro or something. There isn't enough vegetables in the dish. To be honest I would try some other food vendor. read more

A quick fix for this who love thai street food. I enjoyed their coconut pancakes cause I can't get them many other places than this church I go to in Berkeley on Sundays and here - other places just have mango and sticky rice, but don't get me wrong I LOVE mango and sticky rice, but sometimes you want those warm little nuggets of deliciousness. The line was longer, but if they're idol it's because they're looking to take an order and put food in someone's hands, I was that person. As soon as I saw the pancake lady was staring at me I placed my order, paid and was out in seconds! The rest of the food looked so good I had to try something else too - so I grabbed a duck sandwich - not as tender as I would have liked and a little dry, but It didn't stop me from wolfing it down. They have a great location and if I'm back in that market I'll be saving room from samples to eat here! Enjoy. read more

After Yinnie C's review, I promptly visited the stall myself. 8 for £2.5?? I might have ordered 16. And I might have eaten them all in one go. The sweet ladies manning the stall are adorable and smiley. Note that they are there Monday-Wednesday. The little pancakes are bite sized and contain various toppings in a coconut gelatin. I was browsing the different food stalls in Borough Market, wanting to try everything that it had to offer and saw a huge line of people waiting to try this place. Too lazy to wait in line, I decided to come back early the next day and try out this place before I left to go home. While this deviated from my mindset of wanting to try authentic British food, I'm glad that I ate at this food stand. The chicken pad thai was everything that I wished for. It was the perfect combination of sweet, sour, and salt, and I couldn't stop eating it. This little food stand sits among a sea of food stands serving quail eggs and coconut pancakes on one side and Pad Thai on the other. As the other yelps have vehemently advocated, the coconut pancakes are nothing like what i have ever tried. I like coconut flavoured desserts and i love coconut juice and milk, but to heat it up into a little piece of custard is the best idea ever. I loved that dessert to pieces and felt guilty for wolfing down four after trying the first one. I begged my boyfriend and my friend to eat the remaining three because i felt so guilty! Eight for 2.25 is not bad at all. If this place served the coconut pancakes alone, i'd give it five stars, but the issue is that that the line up is mostly for the pad thai and i can't say i'm fan. I could hardly stomach it. They offer three types of pad thai cooked on the spot, chicken pad thai, prawn pad thai, and chicken and prawn pad thai - the last being the most expensive of the three for 8.50. To start, the fish sauce smell is a bit overwhelming just standing in line and my boyfriend ran off to the other side of the market as i waited for the food. Once I got it, i was thoroughly disappointed. The chicken was super dry, there were maybe three pieces of prawn, but the worst part was that the flavour of the pad thai tasted like they spilled a jar of sugar into the wok. The rice noodle was chewy in a good way and soaked up the flavour as it should, but it's unfortunate that the flavour is not right. It's five star for the coconut pancake, which is more like creamy bite-size custards with a smoky nutty flavour, and two star for the pad thai, so i think three stars is fair. Get your main elsewhere in the market, but make sure you get the coconut pancakes! read more

Am I jumping on the bandwagon from Minnie M and Yinnie C's review? Yes I am. Also the wonderful Yinnie showed me these stall after raving about it over coffee earlier. Now Yinnie is a bit crazy with food, but she is SPOT ON with this little market stall of heaven! 10 for £3.50 (and they popped an extra 2 on for us... I like to think it's because they saw our smiling faces, but it could also be that they saw our looks of pure poverty and pitied us. I don't care, we got 2 extra!), these little bites of pancake are SO MOREISH. I actually want another one now. I might walk back. Coconut pancakes are a must. Custard and sweet and light. I'd eat a hundred of them! 5 pound minimum for card, but there's an ATM nearby.

COME HERE! Saw the great reviews of this place so I made it a point to come here during my visit to Borough Market...and I'm so glad I did. I got an order of the coconut puddings (8) and had to come back for another order! They were so delicious and flavorful. I could definitely taste the strong coconut flavor. I also really liked this dessert because it was not very sweet. Sesame seeds on top added an extra crunch and savory-ness. Definitely try it ;) you won't regret the coconut dessert! read more
