Downtown Notary offers a lengthy booking process with multiple confirmatory emails consisting of terms and penalty charges for each category that you may commit before seeing the commissioner. The commissioner who addressed himself as "lawyer" would charge you a no show fee for whatever reason you are bringing the incorrect document as he claimed you're wasting his time which worths 200+ dollar per hours. Since he is registered with the US consulate, you don't need to go to the US embassy, which saves a LOT of time and money. Not to mention it is impossible to get an appointment at the US embassy with less than a few weeks notice. He is very efficient, which I really appreciate. We arrived at the appointment about 10min early, and he came early to meet us. We were done by the time the appointment was scheduled to start! Highly recommend!! Ps. he only communicates via text (not phone), which is okay for me. But if you must talk via phone, you can pay extra. I'm totally fine with that since that reduces the chance he will be late because he is being held up talking to someone else.

Worst Yelp experience ever…read more Based on the reviews here at Yelp, I contacted Vinh to get wills and power of attorney documents done for my husband and I. After emailing the completed forms he sent we didn't hear back and after numerous attempts to reach him by text and email we left a voicemail message and received a nasty text back that there were lots of reasons why he didn't reply, he could have had a personal emergency. He didn't say he did, he said he COULD HAVE. Thing is, we found recent tweets online under his name and none of it was about being unavailable due to some sort of emergency, and his voicemail message made no mention of being unavailable. All it would have taken was a 2 line reply to just one of our texts or emails to say he doesn't handle wills anymore, or that he never received the completed form. Instead he was totally unprofessional. I was originally afraid to post a negative review for a lawyer but I read another bad review and figured I owe it to my fellow Yelpers to share my experience.

I have been putting this off for months but with a trip to NYC planned at the end of the summer my procrastination was put on notice. The secretary and the notary were sweet, friendly and even cracked jokes with me... Ikea lineups for meatballs are more stressful than this place. My service cost $20 and I was in and out of this office in less time than it took my father to circle the block to find parking. I know this because I first went to h&r block, where after visably cringing to hear of my situation told me that I would have to contact revenue Canada (in writing) and then waiting weeks to have my information mailed to me, they would still require at least 250 bucks upfront before they could even get started. Obviously that never happened (see procrastination issue mentioned above) Then someone told me about the magical place known as Parkdale accounting. The people there are literally some of the nicest people in the universe. They made everything so simple and easy, only requesting a single t4 to get the process started, charging me a 5th of what h&r had quoted me and taking the rest out of my return. And they did it all without a single eye roll at my complete tax ineptitude.They took the time to go over anything I could bring in that they could deduct to get the best possible refund. These are people who truly understand customer service. I never once felt like an inconvenience, like I had so often in the past, and they truly made me feel welcome. Because of them and the hard work they are doing to get me a great return, I will be able to go back to school next year. I don't think I stopped smiling for about a week after I left there,and even though I don't live very close, I know I won't be going anywhere else to do my taxes next year.
