We really enjoyed this excursion away from our base in WI Dells! It is a scenic 1 hourish drive through small towns and farm land to the lazy Kickapoo River. We visited on a Friday at 11:30 with beautiful temps and sunshine. We only encountered about 5 other groups of tubers/canoers on the stretch to the first exit. The River was lazy this day with only a couple of fast moving spots. They tied our 5 tubes together and had a cooler tube in the middle--we brought lunch and drinks and ate along the way. The first section took us 1hour and 45 min. The exit was a concrete boat launch which could prove difficult to anyone with mobility issues. Texted that we were ready for pickup and were on our way back in the bus in 10 minutes. No changing facilities back at KWA only port-o-johns. Would definitely recommend coming here!

    Beautiful view of the Kickapoo!

We love this company! Shawn was awesome and set us up with super manageable kayaks; he showed us the map and explained how to make the most of our experience. He made sure our phones were to be kept dry - double bagged them, offered to make sure our keys were safe and then was back in a heart beat to pick us up when we were done. Highly recommend! And super price!

The owner was extremely friendly and even let us go out on the river, despite being 2 weeks from officially opening.

The Porta potty's nearest our tent camping site were…read moreliterally pristine even though it was rainy, and they had a nice little trashcan inside the Porta potty and outside of the Porta potty. It's the details! The land itself was gorgeous, the lady on the phone listened to the fact that I had six teenagers and put us at the spot right by the fishing hole where we had our own private beach for the river. The river the first day was up to our knees with a current that was manageable. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very cooperative with tubing ($11 a tube) which is what we wanted to do, but they also rented kayaks and canoes. The girl in the store was the family owner's teenage daughter and she was very sweet. At one point the four 14 year old boys took off on an Adventure down river, so I was in cell phone contact after hours with the owner of the campground trying to find out where they might pull aground when we spotted them coming in on an ATV from a local, friendly neighbor. They have a well-maintained volleyball court, gaga pit, badminton court with all the necessary equipment. They had covered picnic table area and a little camp store with cold pop and ice. They had cabins for rent at $149 a night which I looked into when there was a tornado watch. We were the only tent campers, (maybe other people had actually read the weather report), but it was a very quiet campground with only a crying baby early one morning from the many RV sites. None of us took a shower, but I did use the bathroom and peek into the showers and they were spotlessly clean like everything else. We also took a walk through their butterfly garden, so beautiful and peaceful. And for some reason not very many mosquitoes, not sure if they treat for them or we just got lucky but pretty much no bugs except for some flies when the teenagers didn't wash the dishes properly... it was about $150 for three nights of tent camping which included two sites and five packs of wood. A bargain! You won't regret it! Oh and my last bit involves cell phone reception: if you have T-Mobile you will get no service, if you have Verizon you will go from no service to 1 to 2 bars randomly, and if you have AT&T you will have full service the whole time.

We stayed during the week and it was very peaceful and quiet. There were a lot of of children for my three littles to play with. The swimming area is so pretty! It is pretty shallow so it was perfect for my 2 year old and 5year old to play. Our last day we decided to float the river and it was beautiful and an easy float. The owner was friendly as well. My only suggestions are to bring lighter fluid because the wood is a little damp and some type of fly repellant. Mosquitoes were not bad at all which was great! Overall we absolutely loved Lost Falls!

My friends and I have been tubing with Sandy Shores for three years in a row on our annual vacation…read moreand we've always had a great time. Each year, we choose a different lake to stay on in central WI and we've all agreed that we need to make sure we stay close enough so we can schedule a float with Sandy Shores! This year, Mallory was the superstar who made sure we all had what we needed, including upgrading to a tube with back support (yes, please!), as well as our cooler float. She got us all loaded into the van and unloaded at the river, making sure we understood exactly where to find her for the pickup! Getting out was a breeze as well - just look for the orange markers, walk to the shore, pick up your tube and walk up to the van, where they'll take your tube from you, pack it up and load you into the van to return to your car. And a bonus - you leave your keys and ID with them when you float, so there's zero chance of losing your keys in the river! Sandy Shores is organized and streamlined to make the whole process very enjoyable - just log on to their site & reserve your time (highly recommend) and bring cash (for the float and to tip!!). The float itself takes about 2 hours, but there are a couple of sand bars that you can stop at to take a time out and chill, if you'd like. Thanks Sandy Shores for always giving us a great experience!

When we arrived to Sandy Shores we were quickly and rudely turned away by the cashier because we didn't have a reservation?? If this was a requirement then it needs to be said on the website that it is. Not that it's an option. We quickly found a different company to tube through down the road and had a much better experience right off the bat.

I gave my full first and last name "We'll just put it under (last name), as we get a lot of Kyles" (Quizzical silence on my end, since I gave my first and last name, which is not at all a common combination lol) We wanted to do the shortest trip to the Park Landing, but staff said we had to pick an exact time to be picked up at that Landing. (It was our first time there what would we know about an exact trip time?). All that aside, I made it easy on all of us and chose pickup at Bridge 5, and pickup there around the 3 hour mark was easy breezy. We really enjoyed our river trip! The River was pretty shallow in some places, and it was fun weaving through the Lazy River Inner Tube crowds. There's a lot of river between Bridge 4 and 5, everyone was wondering if they had missed it Bridge 5. Do set aside some time to beach up and drink up! Drifty's for the win!
