No free coffee like some RJ western star. The mechanic were actually way better with customer service than the front desk people. And they explain in detail what is happening and how long you will wait.

Be aware!!! Not all their mechanics have a clue what they're doing. Never used a fault reader on…read moremy rv, just guessed at the problem and didn't tell me they were guessing. Not only guessed wrong and did something that doesn't make any sense now that I know but what they did was in contravention of the motor vehicle act, making my vehicle illegal to be on the road! (punched out the catalytic converter) Charged me over $900, 6 hours on the hoist and when my vehicle broke down again 20 minutes out of the shop ruining my vacation, the mechanic told me the next steps I should do, none of which had anything to do with a fault reader nor any that would have affected the problem. They apparently don't have a fault reader at the shop?? and their manager said they don't actually work on motorhomes! Took the vehicle to my own mechanic after limping home from my holidays - he connected the fault reader in under 5 minutes knew exactly what to do about the 4 faults that came up, replaced the $40 part (throttle position sensor), removed the rat's nest from on top of the engine and the two chewed vacuum hoses, charged me $150 and fixed the problem. All 4 fault codes disappeared, no further problems. No apology from Columbia Diesel, nor compensation for my lost time and hassle, which were plenty, although they did replace the part they ruined and returned my funds for the inappropriate work they did. You just don't see that level of caring and attention put into auto repair these days. Our van is a unique rig, and Colin put in a lot of effort to find schematics to help him troubleshoot our issue. They were thorough enough to have the confidence in their diagnosis and solved the problem in one shot. Given our van was from the US, further effort was required to track down a USDM spec PCM that matched. They managed to get it fast tracked to the shop and had us back on the road in 2 days! They even allowed us to limp our van back to camp while we waited for the parts to arrive. Superb customer service and all-around awesome team. I was also extremely pleased with the reasonable price I was charged in a situation where they could have easily taken advantage of us. Wish I could bring this shop back to Portland with me!! The lady that helped us as soon as we got there at 7:45am on a Wednesday morning...if i could go back n kiss her i would! We broke down the night before in Blaeberry (ya what a name right???) with a flat and had a horrible experience with being broke down on the side of a highway and a useless rental service "caa" (supposedly) coming to our "rescue" (we ended up doing most of the work). Anyways long story short ...traumatizing until we got to Revelstoke...and upon the helpful advice of a nearby 7-eleven Aussie employee we came upon this place .... And they are the saviours of our journey. No exaggeration. That first lady (we presume the boss) was fantabulous and seriously made us feel so reassured..so calm...so listened to. I highly recommend these guys if ur in the area ...they did an oil change and fixed our tire for a super reasonable price and super quality service in a super timely manner! We were back on the road in less than an hour and a half after showin up before they even opened and they did their super best to help us!
