I really appreciate the app, which allows parents to receive updates, pictures, and messages about their child's day. It helps me feel more connected to my children and reassured while I'm away from them. I also appreciate the fun events and age-appropriate curriculum Kindercare provides. Unfortunately, my experience at the Chambers Street location in Eugene has been very different from what I believe Kindercare is capable of providing. In my opinion, this location needs significant changes in staffing, leadership, and the way certain situations involving children and parents are handled. My biggest concern has been the leadership. I have had several experiences with the director, Naz, that have left me feeling that communication and professionalism are inconsistent, and that she can be unprofessional and unpleasant in her interactions. I have also personally witnessed interactions that concerned me regarding how children are spoken to and treated, particularly when parents are not immediately present. I have heard similar concerns from other children, although I recognize that children's accounts should be taken seriously but also carefully evaluated. I have also experienced repeated situations where I was asked to pick up my child because of staffing or classroom-capacity issues. This has happened often enough that it has caused problems with my employment and made reliable childcare extremely difficult. Parents should be able to have confidence that their childcare arrangements will remain dependable unless there is a legitimate emergency or safety concern. Another issue I have noticed is inconsistency in how children are disciplined. There have been situations where children appeared to receive different consequences for similar behavior, which can feel unfair and confusing to both children and parents. I have also seen children being sent to sit in the director's office as a form of discipline. I believe the center should review whether its disciplinary practices are age-appropriate, consistent, and focused on helping children learn and regulate their behavior. I want to emphasize that many of the teachers and staff members are genuinely wonderful. My concern is not that everyone working there is doing a poor job. In fact, I believe many employees are doing their best in a difficult environment. The larger issue appears to be staffing levels and the amount of attention each child can realistically receive. In the older children's classrooms, I have seen children attempt to get an adult's attention when they are being bullied or picked on and not receive timely attention. In the infant and toddler rooms, I have also witnessed situations where multiple children were crying for extended periods while staff appeared overwhelmed and unable to respond to everyone. I have seen babies wanting to be held or comforted and toddlers needing attention or diaper changes while staff were occupied with other children. I understand that childcare can be extremely demanding and that staff members cannot immediately respond to every child every second. However, when an entire classroom appears overwhelmed, I believe that is a staffing and management issue that needs to be addressed. I truly believe Kindercare has the potential to provide excellent childcare, and many of the employees at this location clearly care about the children. However, the Chambers Street location needs meaningful changes. I would strongly encourage Kindercare management to review staffing ratios, classroom supervision, disciplinary practices, parent communication, and the leadership at this location. Most importantly, parents need to feel confident that their children are safe, heard, cared for, and treated fairly when they are not there to advocate for them. That should be the highest priority of any childcare center.

Not only does she create learning units and lesson plans, but she regularly provides the kids with play time outside all year round--a necessity for my outdoor-loving child. My daughter begins kindergarten this fall, and she has said on more than one occasion that she "doesn't want to move on from Deb's." As the two teacher started lining up the kids to go inside one kiddo was not paying attention and one of the teachers walked over to him and grabbed his arm. I was absolutely mortified! and frankly in shock. I expected her to get down to eye level and speak to him. I would say this classroom was not older then 4 years old so of course he was not paying attention. My husband and I looked at each other and I said NO way so we left. She came home with a rash and no one even said a word to me! No cream was applied because as soon as I put cream on it it was gone the next day. My daughter wasn't really interacted with and I know this because everyday when I would pick her up her hair was out. She only rips it out when she's not being watched. She was in a good mood maybe 2 times when I got her. So I started to worry because parents can't go in at all. You can see from the app what they eat and when they nap which is helpful. But I just felt for the amount I was paying the care wasn't up to par. Also when trying to get my daughter enrolled it was a disaster I was contacted by 2 different people saying they were the director. Then one demanded payment before my daughter started then at the end of the month they tried to say I didn't pay! Very disorganized in the office from my experience. To top it off I showed up to get my daughter one day and was asked why I came early? With that being said, I switched my daughter to something that makes more sense and feels right. Cristy continued to leave the children unattended in his care while he is not certified to be allow with the children. He is only registered to help while she is there with him. Cristy had ask us to provide a two week notice before we decided to leave the childcare, but picking my son up Cristy had handed me a termination notices claiming I had brought my son to daycare sick when he has allergies. Don't trust this daycare because they will cancel care and not provide a refund and take away from families. They are not the christians they claim to be. If I knew this is how they run their business, I would have went to another daycare. Beware they act all friendly but they are horrible people and will tell the other families your business. They try to have family members and their own children make reviews to cover up the truth about what is going on in their home. Cristy had a infant that was scared at the daycare, the child would cry if she walked away. Instead of her trying to help the child adapt to the new surroundings, she had told me she had to let that child go because they baby had cried so bad and had not took a breath when she walked away and ignored the baby. When she finally returned, they baby was purple!!! BEWARE if you are thinking of taking your child here!! Always ask your child how their day was if you are currently with this daycare. I will speak the truth so families are aware of what goes on when you leave your child in their care!
