It took me a really long time to sit down and write this review, as I have very mixed feelings…read moreabout my experience at little excellence. I didn't want to write it while the wound was fresh and I was still upset about what happened. Little excellence was my 2 year old daughters first school experience and she was going full time 3 days a week, with an extra hour of care in the morning. Everything went swimmingly in the beginning and she loved going there. November hit and the honeymoon was over. I got a call that my daughters face got scratched and that there was a mark on her face over a fight over a toy and that as a response my daughter put her mouth on the child as if she was going to bite him but did not leave any marks (as per the phone call message I received). This was our "first warning that she could be "kicked out". I did my part and printed books for both school and home on why we can't bite, as the school asked me to come up with a plan for her. I gave them strategies via email and in person on how to better help her especially before she gets frustrated. There was a second incident, where no one was able to tell me what exactly happened as it was during diaper changing time and there "was not enough staff to watch all the kids at that time". I was told my child had to leave the school as per their policy which I had no problem complying with, but when I asked to see the video so I could see what was happening so I could better help and see what was occurring before the incident, I never received a response. This cut me to my core as it was right before Christmas and my daughter had no idea she was about to be ripped from the only school she's ever known leaving us in a position to scramble for a school. Her last day was the Christmas party where the staff talked about how sweet my daughter was and how sad they were to see her leave, but it was difficult for me to hear as it was not our choice to leave. I do not dispute the school policy and them following the policy what I did not like was how it was handled. No one offered to help her work through this very normal unfortunate toddler behavior. No one allowed me to see how, when or why it was occurring via video. Needless to say we found a great school for our daughter and she is thriving there so much we increased her to 5 full days. Overall I feel like the school has very young teachers who need the time and experience to gain knowledge on how to intervene and teach students rather than resorting to expulsion. I am sticking with 3 stars because my daughter really did love going here and she always had a great time, in morning care she had no issues. Although the teachers were young they still need some more experiences to help them better intervene with toddlers in the future. This wasn't the school for us, but maybe it will be for others.

Nadia the director helped us figure out a schedule to transition him in before he was full time. Then this was his first time in full time care and all of the teachers were so warm and caring that he was immediately eager to go to school every day. It is a fairly small school so our son was thrilled to get to know some of the "big" kids and eager to move up a class each year. He constantly amazes us with all he has learned at LPP and he loves the enrichment classes he takes like art, dance, science, and music. Since the school is in downtown Maplewood, the kids get to spend outdoor time in Memorial Park, walk over to the library, and explore on walks. We greatly appreciate the great hours as two commuting parents. Most important to us is how we see LPP helping our son become a kind and caring citizen of the world. He loves to "play play play" at school and we see how he is doing that and much more at LPP. Can't wait to send our younger child there when she is old enough!

The teachers LOVE what they do. They are super patient and are consistent. They were very attentive and alerted me whenever they noted changes. They create such a great environment for learning and fun. Even after changing jobs and working further away I kept them there. My afternoon commute was 1.5 hours but I couldn't see them anywhere else. This place is that good.

I was extremely disappointed by the way my daughter and I were treated at the learning experience…read morein Union. After two days I disenrolled my daughter immediately. The teachers I encountered have no compassion or professionalism. The after 5pm teacher confronted me in the middle of class in front of the other children and teacher about why my daughter didn't follow instructions. Please note I have never met this teacher, she did not introduce herself to me and my child shouldn't have been in that classroom to begin with because arrived at 4:45pm, the children are moved here after from 5pm-6pm for pickup. The director encouraged me to have my child Evaluated by her doctor because she doesn't make eye contact with her (keep in mind she spent little time with my daughter because she was filling in for one of the teachers assigned to my daughter class who left early because she was sick) am not someone that can not take criticism or feedback about their child, but I find it extremely egregious to only spend 2 days with a child who is also 2 years old in a new environment with new people and classmates and suggest that there is something medically wrong with them. My daughter was given no acclamation period and no sympathy. I emailed them a notice to withdraw and never heard back from them. The app they use was not updated accurately, there were pictures posted on my daughters profile that did not include her in the picture. I wasn't notified that she peed on herself or that she didn't eat her lunch. The tour I was given was false advertisement and I would not suggest enrolling your kids here.
