Amazing staff! They are dedicated to keeping a warm, friendly, and safe environment. They also prepare for kindergarten extremely well!

I had 2 of my children attend the Goddard School in Urbana over the course of the last 2 years. It…read morestarted out great & wonderful, the upbeat of the teachers and the kids loving the School. However, as time has worn on, it seems like the true colors of the school has shown themselves. The owners of the School (in particular Jill) seems to be all about the money. I don't understand how they can justify increasing the costs each & every single year (when they already charge an arm and a leg for tuition across the board) & they say it's due to them losing their talented teachers to the local Public Schools. Jill thinks throwing more & more money at the Teachers will make them want to stay at Goddard. I think the reality is why don't you create a better culture and focus more on the environment for the Teachers to be happy in. They even created a Kindergarten program for the first time this year. Instead of the classroom being located inside of the building, they added a Trailer outside of the building next to the Playground. It seemed as though the class was totally separate from the School itself (literally & figuratively). There were also many times throughout the year when we received conflicting messages/emails between the Goddard School & the Kindergarten classroom on different activities & events. At times, this caused us confusion and many emails/phone calls to the school to determine what was really going on. If you are looking for a quality Pre-School located in Urbana, I would HIGHLY recommend going with Kid's Villa Learning Center. Save yourself the money & the headaches

This is our little one's first year at Goddard (Urbana) and we could not be more please. I thought…read moremoving to a new town and a new school would be a bit overwhelming for her, but with Goddard's help she took it all in stride. They embraced our little granddaughter and the responsibility for her learning care with all the gusto we could hope for in those charged with caring for her for a significant part of her day. Now five, she gets up each day knowing and excited that something new and different awaits her. Learning is everywhere and concern for her well being is front and center. Be it their attentiveness to her numerous allergies or their proactive eye towards seeing that she is in the right level and with the right classmates so that she continues to be challenged, the school is a great fit for our always curious grand baby. An added bonus has been the daily sharing by email of her progress as she navigates a balance of guided work and learning play that the curriculum affords each student. I'm confident she has been well served and will be more than kindergarten ready in the fall, but her time at Goddard will not have ended there. Being just steps away from her new primary school, we will be taking advantage of Goddard's before and after care program giving us the reassurance that she has a safe and nurturing place to get homework out of the way and be with friends until we come to collect her. We've never had second thought about enrolling her.

She is tentative and genuinely lights up when taking care of children. I know many people that are second or third generation attending Crestwood. The grounds are absolutely lovely and they are completely affordable in comparison to some of the other crazy pricing these childcare institutions. Would choose them every time!

They will say something like "I think something wrong with your child medically. May be teething, ear infection etc...I have 30 yrs experience I know what I'm talking about". The owner told me this 3 times and I took my son to doctor 3 times and his doctor said nothing is wrong. He's just having terrible 2. Also, owner is rude, inconsiderate and uncaring- told my wife to move her car and buckle my son after! Wtf...child safety! She parked there because there was no parking left and it was raining. She ran out in the rain and demanded her to move her car knowing my wife is heavily pregnant at the time. My Christ sake! There was no sign of "no parking" and not like she was gonna park more than 30 mins! The rudeness! Biggest mistake i ever made. This place just wants your $$...should not be in daycare business!!! Oh also, don't step on the grass because she would let her dog shit all over the place! Disgusting

The…read moreadministrative staffs are the worst combination of peoples, especially if you are colored or minority you will feel the racism right away. They treat minority kids as an adult, for any small child behaviors, they treat them aggressively. The Centre has no curriculum to follow, it is just like in house day care, don't expect your kids to gain any skills. Even they posted proudly in the Centre that " kids are not here to learn how to read and write, they are here to be kid" it is shame to post this even though they claim to be child learning Centre. You have no way of knowing your kids progress in the Centre . Teachers are changed every 2 weeks and my kids had hard time keeping up with it. Kids get emotionally attached with their teacher and they always ask if they are coming back. At lunch hours just drop around the Centre and look, you will see teachers and other staffs eating their lunch in their cars in the most humiliating ways, i believe this is bad working area for the staffs too, no respect is given for them at all. Imagine how disrespected and undervalued person care for your kids, I don't blame teachers fleeing this center every week. Most of the time the teachers place is replaced by Urbana high school students every single day. even I asked to contact his teacher for his evaluation and progress, they just told me that he is doing fine. Nothing is structured in this Centre. There are excellent preschools within walking distance of this center like Kiddie academy, kids Villa and more. I enrolled my kids at Kiddie and I am extremely happy now. They are so diverse, kid and family friendly, professional and concerned. The summary, if you are colored and any type of minority stay away from bright eyes definitely your kid will have emotional trauma or some sort of racism. if you are white make sure you don't want skills and progress to your kids before you enroll them here plus the center offers nothing more what an home based day care center offers. I believe home based daycare offers more with the care and value they add to your kids skill set. My review is just to let you know little research is good if you enroll your kids here , let alone you pay your hard earned money for it.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the children's center of Monrovia to anyone. I worked there for…read moreseveral years and am still to this day messed up from my experience. I don't even know how to begin. I think I'll start with #1, verbal abuse from bosses. Almost every day I worked, I was verbally abused. The expectations were through the roof, and you were never good enough. No matter how hard you tried, how much work you did, you were never recognized and always criticized. They had a way of making you feel like the lowest piece of dirt on this planet, yet never thought the problem was them. For years I didn't recognize this as abuse, and worked myself to death trying to win their approval. It took me years to gain the courage to speak my mind of how much this affected me. I was watched by them 24/7 on the cameras, and every move I made was criticized. I was screamed at for giving a child a tissue to wipe their bottom when we were out of toilet paper. I had a broom ripped out of my hand and screamed at for not sweeping the floors "properly." On my last day, I was screamed at and demeaned in front of my entire class, because I didn't make the 4 year old children stand perfectly straight in a line while washing hands. I walked out the door and never looked back because I finally realized I didn't deserve to be treated this way. I had many other teachers who worked there contact me about how terrible they were treated during their time there as well. One teacher was extremely depressed and actually mentioned suicide to me at one point because of her treatment there (I have messages to prove this if anyone thinks this is a lie). They mentally affected many people with this treatment. The turnover rate is absolutely atrocious, and they don't realize it's because of them. #2, unrealistic expectations from the children. They were expected to sit criss cross apple sauce every morning without moving for a 45 minute circle, 3 year olds were expected to be writing multiple papers a day, standing in line perfectly straight with arms behind their back, and more. Children screamed at for not tracing papers properly. Kids were not allowed to be KIDS. When I went to my next school, I saw children doing fun activities on the carpet, playing together, having fun, and realized this is how it is supposed to be. I had constant anxiety everyday going into work, wondering what I would be yelled at for next. Once I was yelled at for leaving 5 minutes early and not sharpening pencils. Every time anything happened, it was a hunt to find out who did it so that person could be screamed at. And if you ever "talked back", YOU were out of line. I walked on eggshells, afraid everyday. You were expected to just be the punching bag every day. My mental health was at an all time low. Now years later, I still carry some habits I learned from them, but I've learned now just how toxic this place was. I am now absolutely flourishing at a new preschool where I've never once been yelled at or even so much as told I was doing anything wrong. I'm a fantastic teacher and I was never the problem. They were. I've had dozens of parents tell me I am an amazing teacher who's changed their child's life. I cannot recommend anyone to put themselves through what I went through. I didn't write this review to get attention, or to stop their business from being successful, I wrote it for my own peace of mind to finally speak up what was kept inside for so long. And to hopefully warn others of my experience. Thank you.
