The learning modules were innovative, original, and forward-thinking, creating such a positive learning experience. The YMS staff have always ensured my daughter was welcomed with open arms and hearts, a true testament to their caring nature, and I always felt they considered us as part of their own families. The teachers and their attention to detail were instrumental factors in expanding my daughter's willingness to learn, growth and maturity. They have built a strong foundation, nurtured confidence, engaged social skills, in a way that truly demonstrates how much they care. The school's French program was subpar for years after I graduated; I am unsure as to whether this has changed in recent years but when I went to the school, the teachers (we had a new one yearly) were unable to teach the material within the year. After I left the school, a friend of mine said that they were getting a new french teacher every term and that each one was just as unequipped to teach as the last. I struggled with French in high school and moved over to Spanish as a result. The school's music program caused me to develop bad habits that I only fixed in my later years of high school; my embouchure was awful (as my teacher had minimal knowledge of how to play my instrument) and the material we played was on par with "hot cross buns". They also required us to buy or rent (which was more expensive than buying in the medium term) the instrument we played; I ended up spending around $800 to play an instrument in primary school.. If I had not continued to play this instrument, this would have been a significant waste of money. The school prided itself on being a year ahead in science and two years ahead in math; this worked to my detriment as I became overconfident and barely passed math and sciences in high school. After I almost failed math and science in grade 7 (after moving to my new school), I lost all confidence and continued to do poorly. On top of this, I remember my science teacher telling us about the wonders of recycling. It has since been revealed that recycling was created by the plastics industry to give people the illusion that they had a way to avoid pollution due to plastic waste. Ever since China banned the importing of most plastics in 2017, Malaysia has taken up the burden of sorting our low-value plastics for pennies on the hour.. and this will is starting to stop as Malaysia has realized that being the world's dump is hurting their country. My point is that the teachers are uncritical and do very little research outside of creating their bare-bones curriculum. The teachers are used to children being as obedient and uncritical as them. They did not entertain any of our ideas and yelled at us when we did not fall in line. They did whatever was easiest and this included almost punishing me for allegedly pushing someone down the stairs, pinching someone on the back, and calling someone a nasty word within the span of a 30-minute lunch; I did not do any of this and if I had been more submissive, I would have been punished for actions I did not commit. When I was in high school, I posted a review similar to this one on their Facebook page. My parents told me that they were blackmailed into getting me to take the post down so I removed it. The main difference between that post and this post is that I did not claim anything to be my opinion.. (despite it being obvious that a Facebook review is an opinion). The teachers also have no problem with stealing and/or damaging the property of children (from what I saw). My friend's gummy art eraser (a $5 eraser) was thrown out because my teacher thought he had balled up his pencil shavings to create it. I had my tamogochi taken away and I only got it back when my mother yelled at the teacher the next day. These teachers do not care (in my opinion, as always); they want to do what is easiest and take home their meager salaries. This school is just a business.. nothing more. This has been an opinion piece.

There're field trips throughout the year and two major events (concert and graduation) in every school year. The school usually requests parents to confirm early for the new school year enrollment. Mind that they may change some of the policies in the new school term. One example is that they used to require 30 days notice for student withdrawal, and then later changed to 60 days notice. If you have changed your mind after confirming the enrollment but it's yet far from the new term, good luck for getting your any money back that you think that makes sense. While the teachers are great, the management isn't. During the pandemic, the school was ordered to close, just like others, in mid-March. They re-opened in July. However, they weren't willing to do the right thing to refund the money for the days that they have closed, even though the kids aren't going to school anymore. Their attitude is disappointing to the point that I am disgusted. Their business ethic is not to be fond of. Their written policies are on their side but not the consumers (families). If you are thinking to send your kid to this school, think twice and remember that this is not just a school but also a business. If you do not expect any issue over the money, with them, then it should be fine. Otherwise, good luck. I do not recommend this school to any family. However, my respects still go to the teachers in the school, but not the management/owner(s).

I love the reports we get at then end of the day with special captions that we can get insight in what our child is doing every day. I cannot stress how welcoming and engaging the staff are. Two thumbs WAY up! I look forward to a long tenure at this daycare for our daughter and future children.

My child has been there for almost 2.5 yrs. the leaps and bounds within the first 6 months are amazing and after that even the things he randomly says are astounding. (Obviously taught by the ECEs or assistants) For socialization, quality of care, quality of food...even for our picky eater they usually adapt to him and serve him pasta with butter and herbs instead of sauce for instance... just shows that the people care about the kids. In a few more months we will have another child looking for daycare and this is our number one spot.

This was my first daycare, so sometimes kids would come home stressed and never wanting to go back. I took it as separation issue however sadly on to my second daycare i find i should have picked up on those red flags. I really hope parents find somewhere else and really this place should close. Some pro and con with my stay there few years back: Pro There are registered for the CWELCC so the fees are subsidised. I met some great teachers there. However they tend to leave within 2 to 3 months. However the long term teachers are terrible and should be reported. and i did try. the terrible ones are not ECE licensed. Con It is not a good place. Legally any incident should be printed and displayed on the info board, which should be easily accessible to everyone. Once 2 kids somehow went out of the facility onto the parking lot! This was documented however posted on the board which is 6 feet higher and on the left side as soon as you enter. This is easy to miss esp with the amount of boards and info posted at the entrance. Teachers are terrible - here are few things i noticed while dropping picking off Ohyangka - Doesnt have ECE license. works as a assistant at the infant room. Once i saw a infant crying, and instead of soothing the child, she carried her in her arms and twirled her to disorient the child to stop her from crying. It was not my child. She suggested i go back to and stay at milk bottle for rest of the year. I was like they are almost 3. and she was like so? i carried on and kids transitioned to sippy cups in 2 weeks. I felt she just didnt want to help and do the work. Mai - Owner. ECE licensed. i met her once to let her know of my issues. However she gave lip service. Told me to call her on her phone - which turned out to be the facility phone number. I never got to meet her again. It is just not organized nor professional. I am not surprise to hear about issues and complains from teachers. As a parent i saw 4 good teachers leave. Above 3 teachers, avoid like the plague. I am happy to have left. The new place is like a breath of fresh air. i really wish i picked on the little red flags i see when i was there. Kids are happier at current daycare, they cant wait to see their friends. Management - Current principal is Grace Li. I felt she is a tool. She also says the right things and puts a caveat, i will run it by owners. And then her tone and action changes. I did not anticipate that I would excel as an Infant teacher; however, with the support of Sam, an experienced Early Childhood Educator, we made an exceptional team. Our shared love for the children under our care, and treating them as our own was evident. We consistently thrived, resulting in satisfied infants and content parents. The owners barely showed appreciation. It took a long time for me to even make a conversation with them and every time they visit (once a week) it felt like the whole daycare was walking on eggshells. I was never asked how I was doing by the owners. Instead, they quickly relocated me from the infant room and rearranged the teaching staff without taking the time to understand our individual strengths and weaknesses. While they knew our names for payroll purposes, they did not make an effort to get to know us as employees. I did not feel appreciated nor recognized as an important member of the company, despite being at the forefront of parent communication and child care. Although I had considered leaving multiple times, I remained in my role out of a sense of obligation to the children in my care, as well as my colleagues. I had also hoped that the arrival of a new supervisor would lead to positive changes. There's a high turnover rate among the staff because owners doesn't show their appreciation and continued to work against the staff. It felt like the staff were viewed as replaceable rather than valued members of the team. Despite our hard work, the owners struggled to treat us with respect and demonstrate their appreciation for our contributions. While both staff and parents are aware of the situation, they are hesitant to come forward due to fear of potential repercussions.
