I hired Fisher Concrete this summer to install a concrete patio in my backyard. The entire…read moreexperience fell short, and the end product was a complete disappointment. Not only was Joe Fisher rude, unprofessional and condescending, but his work was sloppy and disappointing. Joe was about a month late installing the patio, which I understand that weather impacts the start date, but he didn't have the courtesy to openly communicate to me in regards to the delayed start date. Once he started, I will admit that he was a very hard worker and committed to what he was doing. However, his lack of detail overshadowed the work done. The design of the patio did not match the design and dimensions given to him (my bf is an architect and designed the patio); he broomed in the wrong direction of the cuts, and his broom was defective causing an uneven look; he didn't know how to broom around my basement windows resulting in different patterns; he did not push the outside wiring plush to the house, but instead cemented it at an angle away from the house; he cut a cable cord and the electrical cord to my shed and did not inform me of this. When I addressed the cut electrical wire, Joe laughed and me and was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. I informed him that I was going to reach out to his insurance company to ensure it was addressed with them, and he threatened to send me an 'extra' bill so he could put a lien on my house if I contacted them. He also tried to intimidate me by accusing my shed of not being up to code and reporting me to the town. I contacted his insurance anyway and found out that even though he was aware of cutting my wires, and chose not to inform me (which he told me was his MO), he wasn't liable since he had Diggers Hotline out to my house. I would never recommend him to anybody as there are plenty of local contractors who take pride in what they do, and who care about their clients. Joe is not one of those people, and I would steer clear of his company for your concrete needs.

Returned the next time to put in an asphalt driveway. It was done in a timely manner. The workers were courteous and willing to answer all of our questions. Asphalt got splashed on our retaining wall, but they removed it and it still looks very good. We were impressed with their professionalism and fair pricing. We had a pretty good experience with Top Hat, despite some hiccups. We had them install a slate…read moreveneer over our old brick fireplace, as well as install an electric fireplace insert which we purchased from them. We found a veneer in their showroom that we liked. They had a cheaper veneer that looked similar so we ultimately went with that (unfortunately). They installed it in a timely fashion, though there was a miscommunication between the sales rep and the installer, and the corner pieces weren't ordered, and the lack of corner pieces wasn't caught when it was installed, so the veneer was installed without corner pieces and the slate stone was cut flush in the front at the edges. Also, the install was not seamless, there were gaps where you could see the brick below the veneer and it was uneven in places. We contacted Top Hat, and let them know we were not happy! They were very accommodating, and apologetic about the mistake they made. They agreed to remove the old veneer and re-install using the same product. The day of re-installation, we were able to talk directly with their mason, it was determined that the cheap(er) veneer we went with was very flaky and hard to work with (it was a new product that they had not used before) so at his suggestion we upgraded to the higher quality veneer at very small price increase. So int he end they removed the old stuff, and re-installed the new product (with corner pieces), all at no additional cost to us, and now everything looks awesome. We felt their customer service was great, they always kept us in the loop, and strived to keep us happy. Sure they made a mistake initially, but IMO the true test was how they treated us AFTER the mistake, and we felt they were awesome in that regard.

Been looking for a company to do some maintenance on my gas fireplace. Had called 3 other places…read moreand left messages and those places never responded. Top Hat, on the other hand, scheduled service for the next week. They call me day of to confirm schedule and arrived on time. Joe and Tucker cleaned and maintained my fireplace. They corrected some minor issues and gave me some recommendations. Both were friendly and helpful. Would definitely use again.
