Amazing slightly on used products, Great prices, Friendly helpful staff, Great parking

We thrift-shopped and camped our way from Montreal to Manitoba, and while I know that's not everyone idea of a dream vacation, for me it was heaven. I love seeing what a community is discarding or donating for a second life, and I love the people in thrift stores who are all, like me, looking for a treasure, however they'll define that. And I especially love the community spirit of these small town shops where folks - mostly older ladies - are hanging out and exchanging news and giving old items new purpose and raising money to help each other out. The MCC thrift stores are I think my favourite. Mennonite Community shops in prairie towns. You have to get lucky here just like everywhere else, nothing in life is guaranteed, but anywhere you can thrift with an older community that values quality goods, and where demand is low you are going to find some beautiful things at very low prices. The Kildonan MCC is a Winnipeg example of the above, not as exceptional as the ones in smaller towns, but it's not in the city center either, and it's quite large and we did find some gems here and definitely found good vibes. read more

Wicked thrift shop in Elmwood which is a must visit. It is a very large, busy store which is great because it has a high turnover of merchandise. Ridiculously cheap prices, go find your hidden treasures now!! read more

This thrift store is good if you're looking for "old people" clothing (which i was). Lots of great windbreakers and graphic tees. Very friendly and open environment, and very clean-looking and organized. I'll definitely come back sometime :)) read more

It's literally on my way home from work and I swing in at least once a week to check out stuff. It's spacious, bright, open, clean, and I almost always find a treasure or gem to bring home to the kids. read more
