We loved it so much when we stopped in for a drink (and had the delightful server Chanelle) that we made reservations for dinner the next night! The cocktails were delicious and lovely too. The dinner was a special night for us (the three of us met 33 years ago). The fresh seafood was absolutely perfect, and we all had a different dish. Although this is the only regular restaurant in Telegraph Cove, it is a pleasant setting with indoor and out door seating overlooking the marina area. The restaurant has a lot of character as there are stained glass windows and even an orca weather vane on top. We ate here for lunch and in the pub for dinner after returning from a whale watch. I had the halibut sandwich for lunch with sweet potato fries. The halibut was nice an flaky-came with tartar sauce and was good. After putting the sandwich together, it was hard to keep together so ate much of it with a fork but enjoyed it. The fries were also very good. Service was good and it was an enjoyable experience. read more

Haute cuisine prices for meat-and-two veg-style cooking. And while the excuse may be offered that this is a remote location and expensive to stock, be aware of the fact that here, in the very epicentre of the world's best salmon fishing, they elect to ship their salmon in from the other side of the world's second biggest country. Yes, indeed, they serve farmed Atlantic salmon in the heart of pacific king salmon land, in one of Canada's most iconic and historic fishing villages, while charging exorbitant prices. So I opted for the long cod which 'might be kind of local' according to our server, and it was ok, served as it was with a piece of over cooked broccoli and some leathery baked potatoes that had enjoyed a lengthy stay under a heat lamp. Wonderful ambiance, which isn't hard to come by in Telegraph Cove, as the fishermen walk past the patio carrying salmon that wasn't shipped 2,000 km. Friendly staff. But don't go here for the food, the prices or any kind of commitment to locally sourced ingredients or a reduced carbon footprint. read more

This is probably the only option for dining out in Telegraph Cove. The food is ok, for being on the water I wish the quality of seafood they served was fresher and better. We had the fishermen's platter which consisted of halibut, salmon, mussels and shrimp. The salmon and shrimp were disappointing. The mussels were the best thing on the platter. The place is ran by seasonal employees who are interested in catching up with each other than serving food. I'll return to Telegraph Cove in the future but I'll just bring groceries and cook my own food read more

Their food serving size is good and the quality is mediocre (we were here for both breakfast and dinner). This is probably one of the very few places to go to for dining within the Cove's proximity. Service needs to improve. Our server looked very stressed and rushed when talking to us. He also kept forgetting our drinks so I had to fetch the water from the other server at the bar. I believe they are understaffed, hence, the service attitude. read more

This is a pubstyle restaurant with some nice food, nothing fancy. We were here for 2 nights in a row and especially liked the garlic prawns. Service is ok. There's a nice terrace ourside but it was too chilly both nights to have dinner outside on the terrace. read more

This place was AMAZING. Not only do they have a beautiful deck overlooking Telegraph Cove but wonderful food. We had lunch at Killer Whale before our kayaking tour with North Island Kayak and then again dinner afterward. Everyone at our table loved their food. The seafood chowder is superb and has Salmon and halibut in it rather than shellfish. The mango chicken curry dish was excellent. Chicken sandwich-great. Lamb Shank (special) great! Beers-great! And the fries are delicious! read more

BEST SEAFOOD CHOWDER!!!!! I had the fish and chips and cup of the seafood chowder for lunch. After letting the rest of my family try it, we ordered 2 bowls with pita bread to take home for dinner to have it again. This is the only restaurant in Telegraph Cove. It's in a lovely setting right on the water with beautiful views. The service is friendly and professional. The food, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The biggest issue for me is that they serve only FARMED SALMON. I asked the waitress why they would serve farmed salmon and she said she didn't know, but thought it had something to do with price. "Wild salmon is much more expensive." Strange because Telegraph Cove is a salmon fishing destination and in the two days we were there, we saw several people bring in large Chinook. In fact, the owner brought in a 20 + # fish that day. The prawns were also imported and frozen. Furthermore, the menu was just strange (teriyaki chicken pasta?) and the wine list was really sub par (Woodbridge was the only red wine by the glass.) This place has so much potential. It's a shame they can't get it right. Next time, we'll bring our own groceries and prepare our own meals in the cottage. read more

Good food good waitress but they stopped serving there fish and chips with Halibut they changed it too Cod and its now very dissapointing thats the whole reason i came back! We had lunch at this wonderful seaside restaurant. This is such a lovely area in BC. There were four in our group and we all ordered the Seafood Chowder. No one was disappointed! It was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and good. The place is clean and charming. We all agreed in our two weeks visit to BC, this was our best meal. read more
