Nice doctor. But a lack of detail. Left a few needles and had to tell him to remove them. There isn't really specialized care. Everyone gets the same treatment; although the treatment does vary daily. There aren't any private rooms, so everyone will be able to hear your conversation with the doctor. The setup is more like community acupuncture. No real complaints and the doctor is incredibly busy and popular, so he must be doing something right. Just wasn't a good fit for me. read more

Quang is an excellent acupuncturist. I am getting excellent care, and I am having great results. There is a review below that mention that Quang does not use sterile needles. That is not true. For those who have missed it, Quang IS IT! Although I have health insurance now, and he is not one of the providers, I would still go and get treatments. While he was in Viet Nam, I saw one of his associates, Wendy, who did a fine job of treating me. Just like Madeline T says, he treats the whole person. I may go in for one aprticular ailment, and then leave feeling better all over. I would highly recommend Dr. Quang for anything. I am considering using him for my elderly dog and her aches and pains. I would not personally recommend anything more than I would Dr. Quang. If you are in pain today, call, and you will be pain free tomorrow. Went for my first ever acupuncture treatment with a recommendation from a friend to relieve my terrible tension headache, body ache, and insomnia. Am I glad I did! My initial fear of needles were ridiculous because you cannot feel the needles (no pain whatsoever) at all. Moxibustion were used in conjuction with the treatment. The great thing about this is that massages also comes with my acupuncture session! Dr. Quang even taught me some stress relieve movement (Qi Gong) that he recommend that I do daily. My body were sore the next day probably due to me not working out as often as I should. By the 3rd day, I felt incredible. He gave me some moxa to used with direction to continued my therapy at home. I continued to go back and I have to say my overall body just feel much more relaxed each time. I recommend anyone going to a doctor but doesn't see any result to perhaps try acupuncture. I heard about Quang from my doula and initially started going for treatments to turn a breech baby for my first pregnancy. He also set me up with some moxibustion (burning mugwort) to use at home. After a few visits and burning the moxibustion at home, baby turned head down at around 38 weeks and stayed there. Then my baby decided to take his sweet time coming to the world, so I continued with Quang to try to induce labor. While that didn't end up working for me, I'm so grateful that the baby was at least head-down when I went in for my induction at the hospital. Thanks Quang! read more

I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Quang. I started going to see him about a year ago when I had a cold that just wouldn't go away. Within a week or so (two acupuncture sessions) I was better. After that I started going in for a "tune-up" once a month, and it has made a big difference in my overall health. He can treat you for just about anything, and he always takes the time to figure out what is going on with you (Chinese medicine doesn't just look at the symptom, but rather takes into account the whole person). Recently, Quang went back to Vietnam for a time so I didn't get my usual monthly appointment... I got sick. Just the usual post-Mardi Gras cold. So I saw Quang as soon as he got back. After doing the normal acupuncture, he told me he was going to do a negative energy removal on me. It was kind of weird, to be honest, but it was super super effective! Basically, he put oil on my back and neck, and then rubbed a coin outward from my spine. I had red marks all over my back for about a day (but it didn't hurt, just looked bad!). I couldn't believe how much better I felt after that! My advice to any newcomer to Chinese medicine is this: TRY IT. It's completely non-invasive, so what do you have to lose? My grandfather had a stroke, and his left arm and leg were paralyzed. I then brought him to Quang, and after just two treatments, his left leg started to work again! Needless to say, we were very grateful. We continued to go to Quang for treatments and found him to be a charismatic and enthusiastic healer. He does not just focus on specific symptoms but rather on the body as a whole. You may come in with a backache and leave with a recommendation on how to relieve that flu you're having. Needles are not individually packed, but they are sterile and are used only once. By the way, his "office" is tiny but has a deeply oriental atmosphere. As a transplant from New Jersey, it was initially difficult for me to find a good acupuncturist here who could tailor to some sport injuries of my teenage children (who engage in rugby matches with peers in the hot and humid weather). Quang was able to quell their fears of needles and was very caring with them. He took some time to do some stretches and breathing techniques before letting them get their feet wet. From my impression, Quang is extremely skilled and kindhearted when locating the correct acupressure points or finding what is the best fit for them. After one treatment, my kids felt significantly better. What's best is that he'll prescribe you some exercises to do to prolong the effects of each treatment. If I ever become sick from anything, he is definitely the one I will go to as he is #1 in my book! His fees are very well priced and I can afford treatments every once in a while based on my monthly salary. I adore how the clinic (not far from my house) is beautifully adorned with bamboo bedspreads and screens reminiscent to the forests of Southeast Asia. I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Quang! I was skeptical going in with severe arthritis, DJD, tight muscles and fatigue. Dr. Quang immediately found the areas of my body that were in pain. I have been suffering from two herniated discs for many, many years. Usually I'm fine but several weeks ago my back flared up in a major way. After steroid and muscle relaxant treatment, chiropractic and naprapathic treatments that helped insufficiently, I was still suffering severe back tightness and nerve pain in my legs. I have received acupuncture treatment in the past with some success but nothing I have ever experienced compared with the comprehensive, thorough and effective treatment that i received from Dr. Quang. Utilizing acupuncture, moxibustion, electric therapy, auriculotherapy, along with Qi Gong instruction I was significantly better in 90 minutes that weeks of my other assorted treatments could not achieve. Wow where do I start, Dr. Kim is fabulous! My name is Undrell Sanders of all I had a bad fall the Thurday before New Years in 2011. For six months I was going back and forth to the doctors at the hospitals Tulane, Touro ,Ochsner and University with constant pain in my left leg, back, hip,and foot.. When I started going to Dr. Kim I was dent over like a 86 year old lady instead of a 46 yrs old. Doctors said that i had Neurapathy, Scriattica nerve damage, and my L4 and L5 disc was herniated and would probably need surgery for the disc As far as the neurapathy there is no cure. I heard about Kim Acupuncture from a family member and some other women I know. They all talked about how he helped them with pregnancy issues/complications. During the end of my pregnancy, I was going way past my anticipated due date. My midwife started discussing induction and several other options with me. I really wanted my baby to come naturally. I was 41 weeks and 7 days pregnant when i decided to seek some help with my situation. I contacted Kim Acupuncture in hopes of a solution. I really didn't know what to expect. I went in on a Monday and received an hour of acupuncture. After my procedure, i felt calm and relaxed. Later that night, i burned my moxibustion twice before bed. I went to Kim after I had driven from California to Louisiana and had some serious back pain. Within 1 treatment, yes only 1, my back was almost completely better. I could tell he was not trying to swindle me, because he did not try to sell me anything, but suggested I buy some new insoles. After my 2nd visit, he said he thought my back did not need any more treatments unless I thought it was still in pain (which it wasn't!). Kim is very honest and a great acupuncturist.
