I didn't have a car and would have had to walk home but another woman who was reading there offered me a ride home. The director didn't like that and basically claimed that I was a burden and that I was literally not "allowed" to take classes, get healings, or go there ever again. That sounds like a moneymaking scheme to me if they're going to cop that attitude. Spiritual organizations are supposed to teach spiritual things and their idea that a person has to have a certain amount of money to qualify to do spiritual work is definitely not in line with what many religions teach. Plus, spirituality is supposed to be a haven from the brutality of the world, not reinforcing of it via the ugly ways that humans mistreat the poor. How utterly disappointing!
