Unfortunately we didn't know when candle making classes were but the owners were able to do a special class for us since we had 6 girls hoping to make candles. They told them about the history of Banner Ell which I found interesting (the kids didn't remember all of it) and some of the names of the scents. All of the ingredients (soy based wax and scents) were all natural and didn't bother my allergies or nose so that was a huge bonus. All the girls had fun, my youngest was SO excited they had an elephant vessel she could use to make a candle! We would definitely recommend stopping by to visit when you're in the area. Everyone was super nice and all the girls from ages 7-17 had fun! (Adults could also join in if they wanted of course, but we sat back and let the girls do it this time, FYI the prices seemed to range from $38-45 per person for the candles they made which included the class.) You do have to wait 2-3 hours for them to cool and set before you can take them home. I think the regular classes are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11am so you can sign up (call or sign up online I believe), come make your candles and then go grab a leisurely lunch or go shopping and come back to pick them up. We can't wait to burn our candles!

It has always arrived fresh , well made and full! Shipping may be a little pricey but well worth it in my opinion to order where you know everything is fresh and well made! Each Christmas, I organize a group of 5 friends who gather to make boxwood tabletop trees ( all while enjoying cocktails)using boxwood tips supplied by Gardens of the Blue Ridge. Again their product is packed and shipped with care and arrives fresh as can be! I've spoken with several employees including Katy and Savannah regarding delivery issues, not on their end but UPS' and everyone has been , pleasant and helpful with great follow through. We could not find it. We asked a young lady, Cate on her name tag, for help. After determining which item we were looking for she determined that they were in a shipping box on the top shelf. She was going to get a special ladder to get it down, but first answered some questions we had about features we were looking for, pull out spray head with magnetic latch, and a top fill soap dispenser to place in hole where our current leaky faucet's spray head was located. It turned out that there was another premium brand with both these features that did not require us to wait while she went to retrieve the high ladder move a bunch of boxes, retrieve the shipping carton, replace moved cartons with other products, bring carton with 4 faucets in it, open the box, check that it what we were looking for and handing us the package the retail box with the faucet with us and take us to where the top filled counter installed soap despensers which are sold separately from the model we had selected on-line. All this with a friendly smile and never a sign that she was getting impatient with our many questions or acting as if she needed to get somewhere else. In short great friendly and helpful customer service.

We hired Andy to improve the appearance of the front entrance of our 5 home subdivision in…read moreBurnsville, NC. He weeded, removed old plants with large root balls, planted new plants and mulched. The work was challenging due to the grade of the slope and the ground was hard with roots and rocks. I was impressed that despite this, Andy took care to dig deep enough holes for the plant material, used fertilizer and soil to ensure their best success. He was patient with changes we made to the original scope of work and was professional, knowledgeable, polite and wonderful to work with. From the time we first spoke on the phone, Andy communicated with me regularly, stood by the timeframe he commited to, started early every morning and worked very hard. It is rare to find someone with Andy's knowledge and work ethic and I recommend him highly.
