Since "discovering" it, we've been to Mizu several times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. We've only had the sushi here and it's great! The dinner deal is better than the lunch deal. For dinner we ordered the Bento Box II. For 34,80 euros, you get a soup for each person to start, The bento includes two special rolls, two regular rolls, and 12 to 15 sashimi pieces. The rolls are sizeable and tasty. Our favorite of the special rolls we've tried is the Crazy Sake--salmon on the inside and outside. When we went for lunch, we both ordered sushi and sashmi for 8,90, which got us one California roll and two pieces of nigiri. I was still pretty hungry afterwards. Not sure how their other items are for lunch, but I would stick with having the sushi for dinner just for the quantity over price. Mizu will surely being seeing a lot of us!

There is a decent amount of space inside with an additional comfortable patio area perfect for outdoor dining with views of the Alster canal off of Muhlenkamp. The street is lined with restaurant after restaurant, and Mizu has one of the smaller entrances and patios, so it can be easy to walk by it without really noticing. Our first dining experience here was a beautiful evening in Hamburg which prompted my wife and I to sit outside on the patio. We ordered a large sushi platter to share -- the Mizu Bento II -- which came with 15 pieces of sashimi (5 tuna, 5 hamachi, and 5 salmon with the salmon arranged in a flower display in the center of the platter), 2 special rolls, and 2 regular rolls. In all it was 40 pieces for a total of about 34€. The sashimi was very good quality, very tender with an almost melt-in-your mouth quality. I also really enjoyed both special rolls that we ordered -- the Dragon Roll and Crazy Sake Roll. Since then we've probably dined here a handful of times after and for some reason the quality and quantity have not been replicated the same way as our first two visits here. The quality is good, but just kind of noticeably not as good as before. The rolls are much smaller now and seemingly not as well put together. I still enjoy this restaurant, but I really want some consistency as a regular.

I ate here every lunch for a week, and sampled a broad range of items and found it all good. The Kimchi Jjigae is punchy, spicy and enriched with belly pork and pork broth. Loaded with flavorful kimchi and presented with a bowl of rice and 3 banchan, this was a must have staple for me at every meal. The pork bulgolgi was tasty, spicy, and fatty--perfect for stirring into rice and more banchan. The djajiangmein was a surprisingly pleasing bowl of spring udon like noodles, earthy slightly sweet black bean paste, and little morsels of pork to give depth and rounded mouth feel. Bibimbap was accompanied by fiery Gochujang sauce and loads of banchan vegetables. Service is friendly and quick--walk all the way in to the end of the bar to place your orders for lunch. Reservations necessary at night--especially on the weekends! They are fully booked for good reason.
