I really like raw fish and with the total absence of the Dutch herring in Rio, the best place to kill my hunger for it is, of course, a Sushi restaurant. I know several Sushi restaurants in Rio, but Kimochii Sushi Lounge is my favorite during lunch in the centre. I haven't found a Sushi kilo restaurant in the centre of Rio with a broader variety of different sorts of Sushi, Temaki, Sashimi and spring roles than Kimochii. For me, the taste of the salmon is the best quality test. It seems that the salmon at Kimochii hasn't been frozen before served, so it keeps a rich and full taste.
Kimochii really did his best to create a Japonese ambience. You are always welcomed by a woman dressed in Kimono and the lamps and table clothes are all in theme. I absolutely recommend to go and lunch at Kimocchii and especially taste the good salmon. One minus: avoid to sit at a table close to a service entrance, because, however you are a client, the attendants seem to wonder what you are doing sitting there blocking their way. In other words, the attendance could be slightly better and friendlier. read more
