After years of navigating through the unstable train wreck that is Kaiser Permanente, I had finally found a wonderful doctor, we were happy and life was good. Having to leave him after getting to this sweet spot was like having to abruptly dump the love of my life. No one would get me like he did, I thought. He knew very intimate things about me, including what I look like naked. The new insurance listed the Portland Clinic as an eligible provider. I made an appointment with Dr. Cooper, half expecting to meet a pre-occupied nitpicker who had more important things to do. Dr. Cooper confirmed my theory before I even met him. The day of my appointment, his assistant called to say he didn't want to see me. Huh? Apparently, he chooses who he wants to see and who he doesn't, and my chart was on the reject list. It was really thoughtful of him to make that determination the very day of my appointment, after I had adjusted my work schedule to be there. Perhaps if I were a rich old white man he might consider gracing me with his royal presence. As it turns out, Dr. Cooper's douche bag maneuver, proved to be the best gift I could ever ask for. I got a same day spot with Dr. Trafficante who is equal to or greater than my old Dr., but taller and with a cooler last name. Dr. Trafficante listened to my concerns and suggested new medication that has made a world of difference for me. He is knowledgeable, professional but laid back, which is something that I really appreciate. Additionally, I have never called his nurse for something without her not answering the phone or responding the same day. I personally have never thanked anybody for being a douche bag, but I guess there is a first time for everything. Thank you, Dr. Cooper, for leading me to one of the best Drs. The Portland Clinic has to offer. In the end, saying the name "Trafficante" instead of pedestrian "Cooper" makes for a lot more fun.

Because of my health issue, I see many many doctors. Of all the doctors' I see, I look forward the most to visiting Dr. Chapman at Sellwood Family medicine. Their clinic is inviting and bright, the staff friendly and helpful, and Dr. Patrick Chapman is thorough, skilled, enthusiastic and extremely caring. I have been trying for three weeks now to get a simple statement showing my payments to MFCC for FSA substantiation and just now received an email bounceback that their office is closed all week. Firstly, it's impossible to reach the front desk - voicemail only. Then they call you back from an unlisted number, so it's impossible to know who is calling. Argh. Then, the doctor requires that you submit new patient paperwork via email for her to review before you are allowed to make an appointment. The reason given is that she might decide she doesn't think you fit in her practice. It then takes a week to hear back after emailing over the paperwork. after which, you need to follow up with them, if you want an appointment. No courtesy call the day before to remind you there's an appointment, so you call to see what's doing there and have to let it ring out and call again. Receptionist answers finally and confirms yes, you do have an appointment. You arrive 10 minutes early, then wait until 25 mins past the start of your appointment time to speak with the Doctor. The Doctor is thorough and nice (if quite defensive about being called out for being so late). Attempts by staff to draw blood - the student MA's attempt is painful and she aborts mission. (Bruise is already looking pretty gnarly) Bring in the senior tech to have a go at the other arm - who can't find a vein and aborts mission after digging around for a bit. At this stage, I've been at their office for 1 Hr 40 mins. They tell me they will write a script to go to a lab and have blood drawn. Knowing my personal compliance level to find the time to drive to yet another appointment is very low, tell them not to bother. Needless to say, despite friendly student medical assistant and thorough/friendly Doctor, I'm still in the market for a new GP. A busy schedule, low tolerance for being gratuitously poked with needles and a general aversion to waiting = this probably isn't the right place for me.

I liked the surgeon a great deal but problems appeared post surgery and were handled very poorly. - The initial surgery date was bumped by the clinic. - Post surgery, I left a message with their answering service about a very large pustule on my nose and skin break-out, concerned it was an infection. No response. - I called back, left a message through the front desk. No response. - We finally set an office appointment, which they rescheduled to a later date. (So much later, it was almost cleared.) Reason was undetermined, possibly an infected suture(?). - After a long wait/healing period, I returned for a postop visit. My surgery had failed; my right nostril had collapsed, a bump remained from the pustule, my nostrils were asymmetrical and my occlusion was actually worse. From function to poor aesthetics as an aftermath, what a disappointment. - Unfortunately, I paid my invoice promptly in full. - Since the problems ranged from every aspect of the clinic (from admin to surgery), I spoke with the office manager. While very apologetic for the overall experience, she promised to look into my billing and call me back. I never heard back, even after 2 follow-up messages, still no response, so I chose to write a review. - I've had to seek out 2nd opinions and solutions, at my expense. Because of PDX ENT, I'm now looking at corrective surgery, additional cost, pain and my face looking worse than when I began. - There are no guarantees with any surgery, understood. I've been patient and professional through this debacle but, I have to say, I can't recall a more unprofessional experience from start to finish.

Kimberly immediately treated me like I was a iv hard drug user, once my drug test came back clean her attitude towards me did a complete 180. Major red flag already. I have a psychiatrist who is great but not covered by my inscurance. I am on medication for ADD, anxiety and sleep issues stemming from the anxiety. My add medication is a controlled substance. The other two are not, totally benign. I have been on the same medication treating my ADD since 2018. Kimberly switched all my meds from my psychiatrist to her since she was in network in April. Great! Come September suddenly she wants me to come into her office EVERY MONTH to continue prescribing my medication. My psychiatrist thought this was weird, my therapist thought this was weird.
