Then every Tuesday the children would go to a family owned miniature golf place. Wednesdays would be pool day.. spend half the day with the children at the local public outdoor pool. thursdays would be bowling day.. get to go bowling at the local bowl america. fridays would be movie and event day.. movies in the morning.. and events in the afternoon (fair, petting zoo, circus, magic show, etc.). definitely send your child there if you live in the area! sure beats those other summer camp programs!

We ended up at Merit when my son's previous school had closed. It was a blessing in disguise. Of…read morecourse this all happened right before we had to travel, but the staff helped me get registered effortlessly. I really feel that everyone at Merit cares very much about the kids. I haven't met a person that wasn't smiling or enthusiastic with the kids yet. The teachers get children up to speed without stressing you or the child out about it. My son talks about all of the interesting things that he is learning and leaves with the biggest smile each day. I can tell that he is happy here (and he used to be a clinger at drop-off!)

The school curriculum, the director and especially the teachers are great! The classrooms and…read morehallways are always safe and clean and my child rarely gets sick here. The staff are their biggest asset and I love so many of the teachers there. My biggest issue is with one of their policies regarding the use of your child's image/photo. If you want to be able to see and receive photos and videos of your child daily, you are forced to allow them to use your child's image/photos for anything else (e.g. their facebook posts, any media or publications, brochures, etc). This is a safety issue and in today's society, with human/sex/child trafficking being a huge issue, child predators having access to social media, I want to be able to control or at least be aware of where pictures of my child are posted. Its unfortunate that I am not able to see pictures of my child daily without being forced to also consent to use of the child's image for other purposes.

I took my son there for two month until they called child services on us . To be honest if I was…read morefrom here and knew about cps I would do that to them first because on multiple occasions my child brought up to my attention that teacher makes another kids heart him because he's "being a bad boy" , or they didn't give him pillow at sleeping time because he doesn't listen , called me in when my sons fever was unnoticed until it got to 102 F ( we went straight to hospital it could have crossed him brain damage), had chemical burn on his arms from doing they wouldn't tell me what ,we've been difficult to deal with and brought up lots of this issues to management so only way to get rid off us was to call cps . They do it anonymously, so you don't have a prove of who did it and child services don't tell you who reported you, upon enrolling I provided school with my second home address which we have listed up for sale and it's the address that cps were provided with, so it makes it clear who reported me as an abusive parent for no reason ( because he had two small bruises on his ankle or shin which my son told child worker he got from his friend in school , plus he's perfectly active maybe he got it from riding bicycle etc..) I hope who ever reads this makes right conclusions , I am very proud of myself posting this review instead of being embarrassed or feeling humiliated , I'm sure people need know how this day care operates and learns from my mistakes. Thanks !

After nearly 6 years with two children attending, we bid farewell to Chesterbrook Academy in…read moreCentreville (but we may be back again for summer camp!). When we walk out the door after this week, we will be saying goodbye to many of the same faces we have said hello to most mornings for the past 6 years. We obviously like the school a lot to have stayed this long. The location is hidden away in a wooded alcove of a busy shopping center. The classes are divided by age among 6 separate classrooms, each with a door leading out to an age-appropriate playground. They provide food as part of the tuition (except for that pesky Covid year) and have excellent hours 6:30am-6:30pm. The staff has a good blend of faithful educators, caring nurturers, elementary teachers gaining experience for their bright futures, mothers working what they know, college students, and more. This school offers a lot in the way of life skills, enrichment, pre-school education, and social skills. They potty trained both of my children. My youngest will start Kindergarten as an independent reader and his attendance at CBA was a big factor. I was looking back at photos of my children that CBA shares through the Tadpoles app and the sheer amount of creative enrichment and educational activities are unrivaled. This is a corporate facility. It follows corporate rules, and I have not always agreed with them, but the overall return on investment has been demonstrated. I've seen this place improve in so many ways over the years. I have trusted this facility with the two most important people in my life, knowing that they were safe and nurtured. As a bonus, I'm certain they came out as smarter, braver, more caring little humans ready to soar in grade school and beyond. Thank you, CBA! We'll miss you!

I'm giving 1 star, because I can't give 0 TL:DR - Full explanation and story below. Conclusion: This is a school who only take pride in keeping kids who only does well from the day 1. This is a school who is not willing to put in efforts to teach a child, and get him accustomed to a school environment and the school systems and policies. This school treated my child like a product that they are only looking after because we are pay them, and since the product that they are looking after had a possibility of causing problems later for other products in their storage, they dropped the service. The principle is very business minded, and only worried about selling services for the children who would do well, not new to their system. If you don't do well, you will be dropped w/o any hesitation. On yea, sending him home on his 3rd day, what a brilliant mind set of a teacher. Principle? That's a bad joke. She should call herself a manager. Her assistant principle is a hell of a better teacher. She should learn from her on how to be a teacher. And being a manager like her, instead of an actual principle, will ruin the reputation of the school that she works for. https://www.reddit.com/r/Preschoolers/comments/145a6yu/do_not_send_your_children_to_chesterbrook_academy/
