Online, "Walking Figure poses motionless in front of the Gateway Foundation building, stuck forever in walking stance but never gaining any ground. The sprightly form reminds the viewer of a child's drawing of a human, with the arms and legs sticking out awkwardly from a square-like torso. The childish face of the figure grins shyly but contentedly with closed eyes as it towers above the heads of passersby, striding purposefully toward some unknown end. The staff here were very friendly and answered all kinds of questions. Our tour guide for the arch was funny and kept us entertained. You can either explore the history before or after going up into the arch, but it is worth checking out. If you're claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. You will need to ride up in a very small cart on the way to the top. It's very secure. I am 250 pounds and 5Ft 7in and I fit with 3 kids and one another adult, but there is not a lot of space. There is air flowing which does help. You can also see, as the doors are glass. You will have about 10 minutes up at the top to take a bunch of pictures which honestly is more than enough time. It takes about four minutes to go up in about three minutes to come down. The gift shop had plenty of stuff, so make sure to stop there as well. If you're going to St. Louis Missouri, this is definitely a stop for you

Most of these pics were taken during the fresh paint times but a couple were this weekend. Going when the artists are there over Labor Day weekend is awesome but it's also such a cool place for photo shoots! I give the Labor Day weekend and the subsequent months 5 stars. It gets to more like 4 as you near the repaint.

So, I wouldn't recommend visiting at night, as you never know what you may encounter. The Grafitti wall was much more longer than I thought it would be! The vibrant colors from various artists that join together to create a complete picture was truly astounding. It's actually so inspiring to see so many different artists working together, incorporating their own unique styles to create one single piece of artwork. If I took a few minutes to really take in and admire each grafitti, finishing the wall would take HOURS! I was skeptical that this mural was worth the trip to an abandoned area, but I'm truly so glad that I came to see this beauty. If you're in Saint Louis, you have to come take a look!
