Extremely pleased with our new patio and would definitely recommend.

Little did we know, we were signing up for a nightmare that we will have to hire a professional to fix. The protocol for the project is half of the payment upfront and half when finished. The 25x12 job was completed in one day. However, it could have been shorter "if" the concrete wasn't so watery. The soupy concrete mix led to lifting the rust off the rebar that was revealed the next day. We were asked to pay the second half that day, but we did not because the concrete needed sealing. The next day, we let John know the concrete had a rust color to it and we were told it is part of the 28-day cure process. He came over 5 days later to seal the rust-colored concrete and said the color will go away during 28-day curing. Day 25 we told him the color hasn't changed and he agreed. He suggested using recoat (Polymer overlay). We talked with the local company about this product and educated ourselves on how to apply. Once we communicated with John about our visit with the recoat company and what was their process to install since he had sealed the slab, he quickly replied "Yes, you're right! The concrete has a sealer so we can't recoat. He also suggested I talk with the concrete company about this problem whom we did not hire. Everything is professional "UNTIL" you pay him! Every time we tried to reach out for updates or questions it felt like communicating with someone who has completely blocked you. Now the unfinished work is finally "completed," I am appalled by the quality and color--or should I say lack thereof. The surface is riddled with rust spots, resembling a 10-year-old worn slab. It was as if they were aiming for an abstract art installation rather than a new slab. But wait, it gets worse. Not only did Jon fail to deliver on the basic requirements of a concrete slab, but they also left my yard a mess, sod scattered and ripped and don't even get me started on the sides of the slab that looks like paint run over a poorly pours slab. Attempting to rectify their shoddy workmanship was like pulling teeth. They promised to fix the issues, but their idea of a solution was to slap on some recoat and call it a day. Spoiler alert: It didn't happen because he sealed all that rust inside the slab! In the end, we will get legal counsel, get with Military and the local news involved! If you value your sanity and your hard-earned money, steer clear of Sam The Concrete Man San Antonio! Their incompetence knows no bounds, and their idea of customer service is a cruel joke. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable company that actually knows how to pour a concrete slab without turning it into a failed amateur project!
