You've got to try the Duck!! I've heard of this place since last year but never made it until their annual duck fest. This review will be based on the festival and the venue. There's a few parking area (on grass and cement) but be prepared for a far-ish walk. They have 2 lines, one for preregistered and one for regular. Be prepared to wait! However the lines move fairly quickly, so it's not too bad. We were given a "passport" where vendors stamped so that you can only go to each one once, which I thought was a great idea. This year they had 10 vendors = 10 sampling stations! They were all very nice and gave very decent portions. Half way through I was pretty full already. Some of my favourites were the duck wings and smoked duck breast. Our last stop concluded at the Farm Fresh Store where you can buy all sorts of duck products. This place was madness! Super busy with only 2 counters to check out and no place to put the stuff you wanted to buy. Overall I still managed to get what I wanted but I would like to come back in the future to look through the items carefully. It was a fun event and I can't wait for next year! read more

I really duck this place! Local Naturally Raised Duck right in my backyard! Duck everything! All their body parts fresh, chilled, frozen, seasoned, marinated or just plain. Rendered duck fat.. I found out about this place because my friend's dad drove by and told us about it. The annual duck fest was very fun. Free admission. There were all these free samples with different ways of cooking the duck, from duck nachos, duck steak, duck wings and many more. As you entered, they give you a card and each tent would sign off the item as you try them. Lots of variety and friendly staff. They have a store where you can purchase the duck breast, duck eggs, etc and cooking classes for only $75. It was such a wonderful event. I really enjoyed it! read more

My mom discovered this place and got us some smoked duck breast and it tastes sooo good. So I visited this store with my mom again, and wow!!! They have almost everything related to duck! And now, I will come here whenever I have a chance. My mom always purchased duck eggs from here as it's difficult to buy duck eggs in local grocery store. And of course, their quality is awesome!! I always get a box of smoked duck breast from here, and share it with my parents. It is a must-have item in my freezer now. Prep time is fast, easy to prep, and the price is very good too. read more

Great ALL DUCK store on the property of the farm. Fresh duck, anything one can imagine. I often purchase the Very convenient precooked duck thighs, that just need reheating and a side for a quick delicious dinner. We also went to the Duck Festival that is held yearly on King Cole property, a chance to try all kind of duck dishes by King Cole and local restaurants! Great experience, but got to come early or some stations run out of food. King Cole duck is definitely my favourite duck, and price-wise it's better to buy all the products at their farm store. read more

Visited King Cole Ducks on their annual Duck Fest. Free duck samples from many different chefs. Busy and jam-packed. Their duck products are on sale all year round. From fresh ducks $15, smoked duck breasts $7, duck wings $10 and fresh duck eggs. The products are all packaged neatly with no leaks. Maybe a few dollars cheaper than when you purchase them from grocery stores. It's a bit of a drive but it's good to know that fresh duck is available around the corner. I've been buying products from this place for years now and I love their products, but my visit this past weekend was disappointing. I purchased a bag of duck gizzards that was clearly labeled as 2kg. When I got home and weighed it, there was barely more than 1kg. Went back to the store the next day and requested a refund and was refused. Person at the store indicated they only sell 1kg packages and noted that the 2kg is scratched out on all the packs on their shelf. But clearly it was not scratched out on the pack I got, misleading me to buy this and the store will not take responsibility for it. read more

Bought a box of Roast Duck a L'Orange from Superstore. The price was good but the product was disappointing. The package says 2-3 servings, but 1/2 a small duck was barely enough for 2 senior citizens! The Orange sauce was not good - tasted primarily of cloves, with very little orange flavour. Will definitely NOT be purchasing this product again. Too bad - we had high hopes. read more

I have passed this place multiple times and finally stopped in today. I thought "what the duck" I am going in... I got a price list since it seemed to be a mystery online... I do not know how to cook duck but that does not seem to be an issue here. There are a few recipes you can get online or in the store to be able to create a decent meal from duck. King Cole duck has fresh air chilled duck all different cuts ie) whole duck, half duck, duck eggs, duck burgers, frozen duck, even duck tongue(eesh) (my opinion) . You can even purchase pre seasoned duck. I know its not for everyone. But I must say the prices are very decent if you eat duck and its all fresh no injected gmo type stuff. I will say that for a whole duck you can buy a package with six whole ducks for about 70.00 dollars. A friend tells me that is a "duckin" good deal. Duck burgers which were pretty large are about $4.00 per burger. Duck eggs 20 eggs for $10.00. At any quack check it out! read more

Boy, if u like eating ducks, should go to King Coles duck. It sell everything you can imagine related to ducks! For me, I love making duck breast at home and it offer regular raw ones and smoked one. And for each they also offer frozen ones and non frozen ones, just pick depending on your needs. So u can get the non frozen one if u so desire to eat one in the same evening so it save u the trouble from thawing it... and each piece is like $7, I think it's good price. If u r chef at home and love eating duck, u should love this place! It sells other duck parts and it even sell duck fat! Perfect if u want to pan seared your duck breast! But you better get your body check for cholesterol every year if u r gonna eat all those duck fat! :) The place is clean and spacious and organized. U shouldn't have too much trouble to find what u want. I always go there now whenever I crave for ducks. I hope u will love this place too. read more

Wow had trouble pricing the prepared frozen half a Duck L'Orange in Loblaw's. When priced at 13.00 I though it was a good price. I have eaten Duck in great French and Chinese restaurants. Did the breasts on the BBQ and loved Pressed Duck. Not many of those Duck presses around. So followed the instructions. The boiling the water was the hardest part. My cooking sucks. But, when finished under the broiler. Wow Super Wow a great meal. Well butchered, seasoned great sauce, packaged and prepared superbly. If I had any reason to return to Ontario after 50 years the King Cole Duck is at the top of the list. read more

Bought our wonderful Christmas dinner here last year! Lots of selection. Like buying farm to table. I see King Cole ducks in some stores but it's nice to go to the actual place. Staff were helpful. Able to pick up some other local treats too - cheese and dog treats. read more

I live in Calgary and have purchased King Cole Ducks a couple of times from our neighborhood Co-op grocery store (there's a duck in the oven as as I write this). Tender and waaaay less fat than other ducks I have cooked. I wish I lived closer to their store so I could get more of their products. read more
