Note if you order from a store, which sells Clopay doors you may end up having to deal with King. Not the best impression for a claimed business that does 1000 doors a month. Clopay promised the door on a certain date but failed to add who will be delivering the door and when. They just provided a delivery date which was never going to happen. So be prepared to waste an entire day of work if you get a message your door is arriving on a particular day. You will then end up with King who will wait about 7 days to deliver your door. Since King did not sell you the door, I guess your less important and they will deliver it when they want. There appear to be an abundance of complaints and bad reviews for King. To be clear they have them in stock and no waiting. They are not Dura Lift, but probably a similar product. The business was very friendly and helped me understand what the true price would be. One of our springs broke yesterday evening. I called another company that advertised 24 hour service. They did answer the phone but couldn't get a tech to our house until this afternoon. They quoted more than 3 times what King quoted over the phone to retrofit a new system. I thanked them and called King. King had their techs at our house within a couple of hours. I discovered an issue with my garage door closing mechanism yesterday afternoon (door not holding in place as normal, slammed shut while closing) and called to make an appointment for today. TJ and Arnulfo (Junior) arrived slightly earlier than the expected appointment window which was very convenient. Upon activating my opener, they immediately diagnosed the problem was the spring assembly, and they "sprang" into action. They promptly replaced the assembly and ensured everything functioned properly while taking time to answer my many questions, including explaining how the older assembly worked and how it broke as well as the benefits and differences of the new assembly. They inspected the existing components for wear and tear, lubricated existing hardware, and even replaced the aged and broken pull cord for disengaging the door from the chain. Overall, they were friendly and efficient. The pricing was reasonable. I wouldn't know any better on price having never serviced my garage door or opener for almost two decades, but the cost was consistent with what I had expected from my initial call (service charge plus applicable parts), it was within my budget, and I felt like I got my money's worth and peace of mind. The whole process took just a little over an hour. I called King Door first based on my spouse's friend having recently utilized their services, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of positive reviews and owner responses on Yelp after the fact, so I know should I have any garage door related needs in the future, I will call them again. King Door to the rescue... again. I was rushing to make our Thanksgiving dinner reservation and forgot to open the garage door before backing out. I barely tapped it before coming to my senses and pulling forward. The metal strap was bent and the door panel a little wrinkled, but it worked so I thought I escaped. Yesterday the door starts making loud popping noises. I emailed King Door late last night and Daniel calls me at 8:01 this morning to make an appointment for this afternoon. Alan came out and replaced the strap to bring the panels tighter and have the doors move smoothly without noise. He also lubricated everything and it works great without having to replace the inside panels... and all for less than $300. Alan pointed out this insulated custom door they installed for us a few years ago absorbed the hit with only the interior panels wrinkling without damage to the outside panels.
