We purchased a house that had the two heavy, spring hinged garage doors without an auto opener...it wasn't heavy to lift open but it sagged so much that we couldn't drive our (normal height sedan) car into the garage. Needing to make a change we went to Yelp and found Advance Doors. Chris followed up with me immediately...we arranged a meeting so that he could inspect the doors and give me a quote. Ultimately, I chose Advance Doors and Chris in particular because of his flexibility...during that first schedule meeting...my schedule changed suddenly and he instead met with my realtor. He adjusted to the change, no problem, and followed up with a reasonable quote to replace two old doors with new style track slide up doors with openers. I also had him instal a rollup door (like those on industrial business for my workshop(adjacent to the garage). We had to change the install dates a couple of time due to my schedule and the weather and through it all Chis was cool. He's a personable person, works efficiently and I couldn't be happier with the result and experience. DON'T HIRE Aadvance Doors!! I just wanted to let people know that I'm not happy with his work ethic. We had a broken spring and got a price of $250 to replace both of them Chris came in the day we agreed and replaced them when he left we noticed that the garage door wasn't closing completely. We called him he came back and was poking our garage opener... it sparked blew a bunch of black smoke and he was like what was that? He said maybe is over heated? From opening and closing? which was like a total of 1 time after he messed with the unit itself. He left I waited about 5min to let it cool down and when I went to close it, it was dead. I called him again he said he would come out on Saturday (2 days later) he came messed with it again, Chris says it's not working anymore it happens a lot when we open and close the door. I asked what do you suggest? He said to replace it. He would charge us $700 but offered us a discount of $200 when he's the one that burned it out. The unit was working fine before her did the spring replacement. Chris said the lowest I can go is $475 I would only be making $30 dollars off the unit, we agreed to pay for it even though it's not our fault. We decided to go to Home Depot to check for prices since we were not installing the new unit that moment. We saw Chris at Home Depot buying the unit for $209, So in reality he was still making a profit off of us when it was his responsibility to make it right! Since he is the one that burned the unit. we cancelled the replacement of course! we went with Lowe's! Installed a better garage door opener with more accessories for the same price. Don't use Advance Doors. I did txt Chris I told him I wanted my money back for the labor of the springs (not the springs themselves) he said no since they were installed and working ( which I'm not sure about that since the unit itself isn't working). once again please don't use their service I'm down about $700 for a spring replacement. read more

I discovered early this morning that the cable on my garage door had come off, rendering the garage inoperable. I put out a request on Yelp and within 2 minutes got a call from Chris. We contacted advanced doors for a new garage door. We gave Chris an $800 deposit on a door we found through him. We ended up finding a different one at Lowe's so my wife and I bought that instead. Contacted Chris to let him know so he told me that he would put the $800 toward the install when our door was delivered. The man from Lowe's that ended up delivering the door said he would do it for $200 so I had him do it since it was $600 cheaper then Chris 's price. I then contacted Chris to let him know that I needed a refund and he told me that he was out of the country. Called back a few weeks later another excuse, few weeks later another excuse. Now he doesn't return our phone calls or text. He has basically stolen $800 from us. If you scroll through his reviews you will see that I'm not the only one he's done this too.
