We selected the cruise to Cabbage Key on 6/21 with the King Fisher Fleet. It was fantastic. The crew Alan, Glen, and Jill provided safety instructions and shared lots of history about the Punta Gorda area. They are very knowledgeable and answered any questions. I learned that this fleet is family owned which shows the investment and support to the area and to Fisherman's Village. Our crew was 5 star and certainly gave us reason to return and go on another cruise with this company. Cudos to our crew, the KingFisher Fleet, and Fisherman's Village for rebuilding the Wharf to enhance the community and give visitors and locals a place to eat, shop, take cruises that is part of Florida vacation destinations. read more

A perfect way to start the holiday season. No better way to see Punta Gorda's excellent canal side Christmas decorations, while enjoying their popular holiday concoction, "Jingle Juice". Kingfisher had three boats operating and the coordination between departures and returns was very efficient and accommodating. The boarding process could not have been easier or better. Capt. We Do This Every Year What a great way to spend an evening at the holidays. We have made this an annual family event. The cruise departs from the docks at Fishermens Village. They have two different cruises at night. Both go through some canals in Punta Gorda to view the waterfront homes that are really decorated. One cruise also takes you out into the bay to watch the sunset. The Xmas lights only cruise is about an hour long and the sunset cruise adds another hour. Right after the boat leaves the dock, the on-board bar opens with wine, soda, cocktails, beer, water, coffee and snacks. The captain, we had Sam, tells passengers about some local history, what we're looking at, etc. The mates, Kathy and Sue, are very willing to take photos for you and are fast to serve drinks and snacks. As is usually the case, we did see some dolphins race along with us for a bit as we travel out in the bay. The captain 'parks' and slowly spins the boat around as the sun sets so everyone has a good view and can snap great pics. Then he starts back to the canals and times it just right so it's dark enough to appreciate the lights. We think the price is fair for a cruise and will do it again in years to come. read more

Easy to use website to book our sunset cruise. Easy to find the check in. Staff was very friendly and engaging. The Captain let some people drive the boat along the bay. It was my daughter's bday coming up and they gave her nice bday card along with letting her ring the bell at sunset. Able to purchase snacks and drinks on board. Not much for seeing any ocean wildlife but sunset was very pretty. Relaxing ride. read more

Had such an amazing experience on the boat with captain Alan, Jill and Boston Mike! They're such a fun crew and treated us very well! Their enthusiasm for the cruise was infectious and made the experience so much better! My husband and I did a sunset cruise for our anniversary & we couldn't have enjoyed our experience any more than we did! They announced our anniversary to the entire boat and presented us with a card. The staff (Captain Rick, Lindsey, and Vince) were phenomenal. Lindsey made great drinks and went around to all passengers asking if they'd like any photos taken. Very personable! Captain Rick offered to play whatever music we'd like to hear, offered riders to drive the boat, and steered us safely through storms that popped up while we were out. Vince was very nice, personable and made himself available for anything we needed. The price was very affordable as well! We will be back!! read more

Went to Cabbage Key on Easter Sunday. The highlight of the trip was the voyage to and from Cabbage Key thanks to Capt.Glen as well as crew members Michael and Mike! Mates Brenda and Suzanne kept the libations flowing at the bar (a double vodka and soda with a splash of oj was $14.98). All kids, and adults who had a birthday got a chance to navigate at the ship's wheel. Not a bad way to spend 90 minutes on a sunny 70-degree day on a winter's vacation. read more

A small group of 6 friends from our neighborhood took the Cabbage Key excursion. Great time on the boat traveling to and from the island. Our captain and crew were fantastic and we couldn't say more good things about them. The restaurant on Cabbage Key was very expensive for 2-people (burger with a small taste of potato salad, ice tea / soup and garden salad, ice tea) . If we take this excursion again we'll plan to stay on the anchored boat with the captain & crew and drink at their bar. read more

The music on the boat was good but there wasn't a lot of interaction with the crew- if you ask a question they'll answer it was otherwise we were on our own. It was a cloudy night so we didn't see the sunset but the view was ok. The best part was definitely the dolphins swimming along side the boat. The highlight for sure. read more

Our large group booked this trip to see the Christmas lights. I was concerned there would be few lights after Helene and Milton pounded this area. Not to worry! Still lots of lights to see. It was lovely. My only complaint is we seemed to spend as much time waiting to board as we spent on the actual tour. It was too short! Also, heads up...they only take credit at the bar on board. The weather was absolutely perfect and a highlight was when our boat caught up to several dolphins rapidly swimming just ahead of the bow. The crew, which included Captain Rick and mates Robbie and Ray, were all very friendly and personable. They even allowed each of the guests aboard to take the helm for a bit! A great cruise and a historical destination make for a nice day on vacation. I took the Kingfisher Fleet's traditional Thanksgiving Day cruise to Cabbage Key for my Thanksgiving feast. Cabbage Key is about a hundred acre island between Cayo Costa and the northern tip of Pine Island in Lee County Florida. The island is the home to the world famous Cabbage Key Inn. This is the reputed home of Jimmy Buffet's "Cheese Burger in Paradise". The cruise leaves from Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda. Parking is free and convenient. The double decker cruise ship was immaculately clean. The crew was extremely friendly and helpful. The drink menu was surprisingly extensive for a smaller cruise boat. Drink prices were moderate. The seas were calm for our trip. A boat this size fairs well in any weather conditions that are not canceled on the count of weather. Dolphins played by the boat a good portion of the trip to and from. The trip was about two and a half hours each way. We left the dock punctually on time. Access on and off the boat was safe and level. The Cabbage Key Inn is an experience in itself. Step back into a simpler time. This rustic open air restaurant recently withstood the relentless bartering of Hurricane Ian. The staff is a testament to Florida fortitude. The Dollar Bill Bar and Restaurant located on the grounds are truly the best that old Florida has to offer. The southern style ole fashion turkey dinner was served hot. Portions were ample. The wait staff was great! You cannot put a price on someone cooking a delicious holiday meal for you and then worrying about all the dishes! This may likely turn into an annual holiday tradition. read more

Very professional and educational. We took a harbor cruise tour from Punta Gorda and it was 1.5 hrs in duration. Captain Glenn and his mates Alan and Jill rocked. They were all super friendly and I learned a ton about the history of the area. They offer alcoholic drinks on the boat too. I loved that Alan kept looking in the water to spot dolphins. A delightful experience for anyone looking to disconnect from the world for a few hours. We took our teenage boys on the trip and they were really entertained by the pod of dolphins that the captain found. They were literally jumping in front of the boat, five feet away from us. From the moment we picked up our passes to the time we pulled back in to the dock; our tour to Cabbage Key was awesome. Our Captain Rick greeted us; gave us the run down of do's & dont's while aboard the Charlotte Lady. Introduced the crew. The crew, Vince & Ray greeted everyone & engaged guest including children. The drink of the day (adult beverage was tasty! As we headed to Cabbage Key Captain Rick gave us info about Charlotte Harbor, Peace River & Hurricane Ian. He pointed out land marks along the way.. the various islands, burnt store marina etc. then he alerted us to the Dolphins! We got some great pics! After lunch at Cabbage Key & brief walk about; we reboarded the Charlotte Lady, a lone dolphin was in the waiting for us! He followed us out to open water . Then Captain Rick gave us a little treat by taking us by Boca Lighthouse & giving us some local info about the area. As we headed back to Fishermen's; the girls were getting bored so Vince pulled out some activity books & pencils for them. Then the kids highlight, Captain Rick said come on up to the helm & let's see you drive the boat! A little more than halfway back, the Captain told us we had a rescue to make; A balloon floating in the water. He then kindly explained to all the kids why it is important that we don't pollute our harbor & river. Then it was more dolphin watching! Great trip ! Great crew! My wife and I booked the sunset cruise. It goes for an hour and half. We really enjoyed our time. They take you out into the harbor and even took us under the main bridge that connects Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. We enjoyed the views, we saw some dolphins and some pelicans fishing. The sunset was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and professional. They allow the opportunity for kids to take a picture in the captain seat and even steer the boat a little bit (under close supervision by the captain of course). I thought that was really fun. They also have a bar where you can buy some snacks and drinks. They have alcoholic and non alcoholic options. They also have a signature cocktail that was fun too. I highly recommend this experience. The cruise sets sail from Fisherman's Village which is a shopping center with restaurants and lots of shops. Just visiting Fishermans Village is worth going for too even if you can't make it on the sunset cruise. read more

Captain Alan, Boston Mike and Brad provided a superb tour of the Christmas lights in the canals around Charlotte Harbor in Port Charlotte, Florida. The cruise is 2 hours long and entails a very leisurely voyage around the harbor and canals. Just a heads up, they have a very good bar but they only accept credit/debit cards and Apple Pay as forms of payment. However, tips in cash are always appreciated.
