Appointments were rushed by Maouad, questions were brushed off, and follow-up care was practically nonexistent. For a place that markets itself as patient-focused, the reality was the exact opposite. I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and no closer to resolving the issue I came in for. Finally left this place and found probably one of best dermatologist in Morgantow. Was sold (twice) their private label skin care products instead of being provided with the prescription medications needed. I explained that I was scheduling the appointment for my sister since my parents do not speak English. The staff member immediately responded with, "Why are you scheduling for your sister? Why are you giving me your information then? Insurance cannot be shared, she is the policy holder then." The last statement is simply not true. They jumped to conclusions before allowing me to explain the situation. The interaction felt rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. A little patience and listening would have avoided the misunderstanding entirely.

Once, he entered the room, I said hello and asked him how he was?.. he said not good. I calmly told him I researched the medication and it was not recommended for those 65 and older (which I am). It is a sedation anti depressant drug that is be taken before bedtime. I live alone and I am on the road driving to work between 6-6:30am and I told him I do not feel comfortable taking this drug. Heart disease also runs in my family and I would rather see if there was something else we could for my skin condition instead. He yelled a profanity at me... "Jesus Christ"... I calmly and politely told him to not swear at me, that it wasn't appropriate to do that to a patient. I think that perhaps Dr. Van Norman needs to be sedated based on his actions today. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.. beyond unprofessional.
