I've been going to El Jannah at Granville for years and have also been to Inflames at Castle Hill and I have to say that Sultans Grill is better than them both! The food is essentially the same. The same great tasting flame grilled chook, the same pickles, awesome garlic sauce, etc. But thats where the similarities end. Unlike El Jannah you can actually get a parking spot here. Its directly across the road from the Bull n Bush hotel and there is heaps of parking both on the street out the front and behind the restaurant. Unlike El Jannah you don't have to queue forever and you can also actually get a seat as well. I don't know how long that will all last but for now its awesome. They do a chicken wrap with chips and a can of drink for a little over ten bucks and you can get it eat in or take away. There's a large indoor dining area with a big screen tv on the wall and also quite a few tables and chairs out on the street as well. They have a huge range of other things on the menu but I can't really comment about them as I'm just a massive fan of their chicken wraps and chips with heaps of extra garlic sauce. If you like El Jannah or Inflames then try Sultans Grill. You can probably park, order, eat and be out of there in the same time it'd take you to find parking at one of the other charcoal chicken shops!

You can see the cooking being done on the BBQ. It is a flued area behind glass. It is pretty noisy with conversations and kids but if you are only there to eat..no problems. The soccer was on the TV and there were two TVs on either side of the restaurant. Only one thing struck me as odd. The voucher advertised that there was free corkage but when we got there we were told that they had lost, not renewed or maybe never had a liquor licence. The service was interesting as it was self serve to the fridge with the cans of drinks. I did see jugs of soft drinks being prepared with half a jug of ice covered with non refrigerated soft drink. I am glad we stuck with the cans. It was pretty busy but there seemed to be plenty of staff and we did not have to wait long between ordering and getting our food, which came out all together. We were asked a couple of times during the meal if all was OK, which it was. There was a coffee machine there but I did not see anyone use it and that is my rule of thumb. If the machine isn't being used regularly, I don't want to have the first cup. There doesn't seem to be much in the way for dessert but if you wander down the road there is an Abla for pastry and coffee.

Food came promptly when I went as a party of two, so maybe they're just not there yet with handling larger orders. Meat skewers mixed plate with marinated chicken, lamb and kafte (minced lamb), meat sambousek, garlic sauce, were juicy and tasty. Vegetarian plates available, with cheese sambousek, haloumi, cauliflower, felafel, tahini. Both meat and veggie plates come with fattoush or tabouli, babaganoush and hummus. Both fattoush and tabouli were fresh and tasty, the hummus is a little weak (not strong enough on chickpea flavour) but the babaganoush was nice and smoky. Lamb shawarma with onion, mixed herbs, garlic, diced tomato, tangy sauce was also very tender and tasty. Felafel were green and fresh tasting. Kibbe nayeh (raw blended lamb mince with herbs, spices, bulgur and olive oil) had great flavour and was very fresh, if you want to try this Lebanese version of the better known French beef tartare, this is a good place to try it. Just tear off Lebanese bread, grab a bite and pop in your mouth (you don't mix in the tomato etc on the side).
