There were two foursomes in front of the group in front of me. They made the pace impossibly slow. Like 25+ minutes per hole. At a professional golf club someone would have checked on them and asked them to move quicker. Not here! I eventually had to skip 2 holes just to pass them. I don't know why all the high reviews honestly. I think for what it is a $10 9 hole round is a fair price, $15-20 with a cart. Price was $32 for 9 holes. Canyon River is like $38 for 9 holes. If you're an experienced golfer trust me just go spend the extra $6. Now, if you want to just practice or bring your family to golf this is a great place! Summary- the guy who worked there said that they have better greens than Canyon Grove. That is true... but unfortunately that is the only thing that is better about Highlands.

It was a FREE all day, all ages, event with food trucks galore offering a variety of dishes and cuisines, a ton of vendor booths selling arts, crafts, homemade goods, unique gifts, and gourmet candies/snacks, etc., and best of all LIVE MUSIC performed by 3 different bands and a live DJ set. The vibe was awesome and it was good to see so many smiling faces gathering in one place. Also, it was nice not to see a majority of overly intoxicated people stumbling around but instead seeing positive people bringing nothing but good vibes, great dancing, and in high spirits celebrating 420. Weather wasn't too kind that day but you can't really be mad at mother nature lol. I would definitely come back to Caras Park to attend this annual event. I have not seen a carousel with a grab the gold ring for a free ride since I was a kid. That was fun and brought up great memories. I have also never ridden a carousel that went as fast as this one. There were seat belts to keep you on the horse or dinosaur in my case. It only cost $2 for adults and $1 for kids. The carousel is housed in a playground area that was filled with kids playing on the modern, clean equipment and sits on the river. There is ample parking.
