This King Soopers makes me angry every time I go. The only reason I continue to go to this location is because it's only 2 minutes away. A lot of the times they are always out of stock of things I need which makes no sense because almost every night, they're restocking. And the way they organize things is terrible. It takes forever to find anything IF they have it. It's just sad I've never been to such an awfully ran king Soopers or Kroger (which is what they're called back east where I am from). Why is this store such a mess? Starting from the parking lot full of pot holes, Shopping carts not being brought into the store regularly and bruised or damaged produce, this store needs a makeover. I've never seen a store outside of NYC that had so many holes of missing merchandise on the shelves. This store is just a mess. The worst is that some checkers don't even know how to properly bag groceries. Food with big spray? Really? I've sure there are some superstars working here but it's obvious that upper management needs to be talked to or replaced because the state of this store is pathetic. read more

This is the worst King Soopers location in existence. Items are never in stock, it is filthy, items are never where they are supposed to be, it is disorganized, carts are NEVER available. It is like refugee camp and the goal when you walk in is to survive and sweep what's left of the lackluster inventory into your bag (no carts EVER) and fight the mile-long lines to get back to camp before the warplanes come back. read more

Come in, shop, stay awhile! Sadly, this is my neighborhood grocery store. I do my best to avoid it by doing major shopping at other stores even though they are farther away. This grocery store should have been designed better from the start for the ever expanding neighborhood in which it was built. The parking lot is crowded, so are many parking lots, but much of the crowding comes from the randomly scattered carts blocking open spaces. Hey management, create a round up schedule and add a few conveniently located cart corrals!! I highly recommend avoiding the nightmare southwest corner where the gas station is situated or you will find yourself stuck behind one of the dozen or so cars just sitting...and waiting...in the middle of the road trying to get to the small number of horribly positioned pumps! Did I mention lines? There are always lines. Even on off hours there is not going to a quick in and out at this store. There is a hefty line at customer service (I want to buy lottery tickets but my chance at millions is not worth it!) There are lines throughout the produce section since it can't fit the carts in its narrow crowded aisles with the huge stock carts blocking the way (I find it ironic when I can't get by a stocking cart since this store is out of things every time I go!) Then there are the lines at checkout. Because there are not enough baggers to get the process rolling quicker and the managers like to just stand and chat, this process takes twice as long as it should. The check out clerks are always friendly and helpful and pitch in to help with my bagging. I don't mind bagging my own groceries, but when every customer has to do this, it takes much longer!! The solution seems simple, hire more staff. For pete's sake, HIRE MORE STAFF!!! I would shop there more if you would HIRE MORE STAFF! Please let the rumors about Stapleton getting a second grocery store be true. read more

Not the best grocery store I've ever been to (I mean, I come from the home of Wegmans), but definitely not as bad as other reviewers have made it out to be. We've never had a problem finding what we need when we need it, and we've never had to wait in line long to check out, if at all. A Starbucks, Redbox, and gas station make it a convenient one stop shop. read more

Most King Soopers are pretty good but this one is definitely the worst in town. Today I got harassed at the gas station for pulling the hose across my car to get to the tank. It was the only way to get gas since the pumps on the right side of my car were out of service and their are big yellow arrows saying the only permitted direction to drive, so I had to stretch the pump line across the car to fill up. The angry cashier starts going off on me telling I should turn my car around but when I explain that I couldn't because the arrows make the lanes one-way only she started scolding me and threatening to shut off the gas. This isn't the first experience with staff that could care less and seem to take pleasure in pointless power tripping. This place needs some kind of management training on customer service. You'd be better served to drive a little further to the KS over at Krameria & 14th. read more

I am so disappointed in the customer service at King Soopers. I just left there and was amazed at the lack of efficiency and customer service. An employee, who was tasked to keep lines moving decided to socialize with her friends rather than move them along, even though the line had 5 people in it. I have to say I was very pleased with there service in the store. The lady tried helping me find what I was looking for so when she couldn't find it either she had asked her manager. The manager told me that he would help me out by giving me the bigger bottle for a discuntes price. But since I was leaving in 2 days and a bigger bottle isn't travel size, he still did it for me in a different product. read more

Friendliest staff ever! The night security guard Norman is very helpful. He helped with blowing up balloons when other staff wasn't trained to do it. He thoroughly trained an employee and was very knowledgable. Any other place wouldn't top its quality in service. read more

Where are the baggers??? I see store management standing around while customers bag their own groceries really? When visiting the deli the staff is busy entertaining each other and not even aware that guests are waiting for service. This is not an isolated instance but every visit. I know that this store can be staffed correctly, with full shelves, since I have been there while upper management from corporate was present. The place should run like upper management is visiting everyday. I have taken to driving to 104th in Commerce City since the management properly staffs and stocks. If this can happen on 104th why not at this location. I think the manager of the 104th store, should train the team at Stapleton store. read more

I had the best cashier and nagger tonight! Both young girls super sweet! The couple in front of me had carts, yes multiple, full of groceries and they worked their butts off checking them out! When I was after them with my few items they were so sweet apologizing for the wait and all I could say was how I was so impressed when how hard they worked. I shop here 1 to 4 times a week. It's still recovering from a remodel, during which they added a Starbucks, Health Food area, and Little Clinic. Many items are hard to find. The store is cramped, and the aisles narrow. At busy times it is difficult to get through the store. Why they added a clinic and starbucks, when both needs are filled less than 2 blocks away, is a mystery. They could have added more items, or organized the store better, instead. If there was another store nearby, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Today I experienced something unlike anything I have ever been through. I have always been a loyal King Soopers shopper, and I would even highly recommend it to anyone new to Colorado. After today, never again will I recommend this store to anyone, specifically your store on 28th and Quebec. I work for a company that places a large fried chicken order from this store every year. Yesterday I called and placed the order for 150 pieces, and while the deli clerk seemed a little preoccupied she repeated my order back and we verified prices. We even confirmed the store, pick up time and date. Today, much to my dismay, your deli manager Nicole seemed extremely confused when I asked if our order was ready. Not only did she bring out an order for the wrong company, but she tried to argue with me about what I ordered and when I asked for it to be ready. She then brought over someone else from the deli who proceeded to raise her voice to me, call me names, and try to tell me she was who I placed the order with when I know perfectly well I didn't place it with her. As if that wasn't enough she also found it somehow appropriate to put her hand toward my face to shut me up and then walked away and continued the name calling. At this point I tried to get anyone's attention, to which I just heard them in the back but no one would come to the counter. When I asked who the manager was, your employees legitimately looked at me and intentionally ignored me. I am a calm person, but after all of this and the fact that my company got completely screwed by your store...I am unspeakably appalled. Needless to say, your store will be receiving a visit from the company owner and you will not receive our business or praise or recommendation. read more

Bad layout and bad customer service. Overall confusing new renovation and bad layout, makes my shopping taking 2ce as long. I have had several experiences with bad customer service during checkout. Having worked the industry from cashier to management, I understand the difficulty in situations and always need to be helpful and nice, but it is part of the position and important to the business you represent. I have had one cashier watch me bag my groceries and not offer help as no customers were behind me. I have had cashiers complain about there job or situations about other customers in front of me. My recent experience involved the cashier's frustration all my items weren't unloaded from the basket and so she walked away. After returning she directs others customers to go to other lines that it will be a while. (not that I appreciated having that attention drawn but there weren't that many items, I just had an unhappy kid and was using a check. On the other side, this store is so convenient to where I live and there are a few very, very nice employees and have made it worth going back to. read more

The general feel of the place has that "perfectly formulated to make more profit" aura. The sushi is amazing. There's a starbucks. The parking lot is dangerous. If I could give less than one I would - do not go to this store. They treat the people from Stapleton (who spend money) like kings. If you stand in the service line and need a money order, lottery tickets, wire or are not white, or are from Park Hill side of street then you are ignored and treated poorly. Have tested this a few times now and confirmed - they actively discouraged the poor and disenfranchised from coming to store. Sick and tired of it. Do not shop here. Despite he bad reviews, I like this King Soopers. I moved here from out of state last June and have been going to this location at least twice a week. I even find myself coming to this one when I'm on the other side of town (and closer to other K.S. Stores), as long as I'm on my way home, this is the store I go to. The store does get busy, but the employees do a pretty good job of keeping the lines moving. The meat counter almost always has something good and they're very helpful if you don't see what you like. I've never visited the Starbucks, but I would assume it's like any other. The produce selection is always great, and it's another spot where the employees are very helpful. My only negative comment is that when it does get crowded or busy, the aisles tend to get blocked by customers who feel the entire aisle is their own. However, I don't know if this is really the fault of the store. Some people have commented that the store was redone and the aisles were made narrower. This does allow for a larger selection of goods, so I understand. I just wish the shoppers could understand that there are more people in the store than just themselves. read more

It's close to the house which makes it my grocery of choice. What can I say, I'm lazy. It is a pretty good store overall, I have to admit. As has been said, there is quite a variety of people. There is often someone asking for money to support some kind of charity at the front. The line for the customer service counter is frequently prohibitive, I've never quite figured out why that is. But they do have a pretty good selection. The produce is usually fresh and of decent quality. The meat section is well stocked and has good deals every once in awhile. The rest of the store provides a wider variety than many others I have visited in the area. My wife looked for chocolate candy coating at 3 other places before finding 2 different brands at the King Soopers. There's a pharmacy with a drive-thru. Kind of neat. Order your drugs and have them delivered to your window. The gas is cheaper than most around and additionally so with the discount. All-in-all a comprehensive grocery store without being outstanding, except that it's close to my house. read more

I try to avoid shopping at this store. Because it's the closest store to my house, I don't always succeed. This is the most crowded King Soopers I have ever been in. There is NEVER enough parking and when you add the gas pumps to the lot, it makes it 10 times worse. Not only is the lot not nearly large enough for the store, the aisles are always crowded too. This Kings Soopers was poorly planned. When they built it they must not have considered future stapleton residents or park hill residents that had gone with out a grocery for years would use it. The gas station and parking lot are a nightmare. I live under 1 mile away and choose to shop in other neighborhoods because it is too crowded. Unfortunately, another poorly planned store and parking lot are in the works 2 miles east which will attract more traffic and offer the residents of Stapleton and the surrounding areas no new option for groceries. dirtiest, filthiest grocery store ever, i was a patron for over 10 years because of convenience but no more!!! you make people sick!!! also the parking that has always been on the southside facing the senior citizens and apartments building has no sign saying no parking or em0loyee only parking!!! you slick bastards, demons had my wife's car towed during regular business hours with no signage period. leaving her to walk 2.6 mi in the dark after midnight when she was only trying to pick up some milk for our 1 year old and a 3 year old 4 days before christmas. i hope that this store closes down......i will never shop here again. any place that supports wyatt's towing can sick a duck and croak. do yourself a favor and boycott these cheap classless stores......its worth it to shop whole foods, sprouts, krameria st location king soopers. this crappy location they treat their customers like garbage!!! read more

However service is still terrible -- I cannot count the number of times that my groceries have all not got into the bag. Today two English cucumbers. This is a really busy King Soopers. We find the selection is diverse and plenty. We especailly like the Organic and Natural food selections. Given the fact there is no natural / organic grocery stores around, King Soopers has become our destination grocery store. read more

We live off Monaco Parkway and it makes complete sense to use this store but now we are shopping at the one off of Leedsdale because the service is so poor. I agree with several other posts the employees seen unhappy and angry and at times rude to each other. they need to find a way to improve their culture to support the very diverse and busy neighborhoods within a couple of miles of this location. read more

By far the worst King Soopers ever built. Horribly managed, incompetent pharmacy especially. They hire the lowest skilled people on face of the earth and have no idea of what it's like to be a professional. I've lived in Stapleton for 6 years and since store is across from 2 hoods, and has a lease that penalizes any decent competitor that comes into Stapleton area, we are stuck with this monster. We end up driving several miles away to food shop and are moving our prescriptions elsewhere. It's hopeless for this store to change its ways. read more

This is the worst location in Colorado!!! We have been giving this place try after try and we are just done. Now instead of a 2 block walk for groceries we will head over to Krameria, because at least they will have what we need! It does not matter what time of day you enter the store, it always looks like a major storm is about to hit, bare shelves, disorganization at every turn. I have NEVER ONCE been able to get even 80% of my list because the store apparently cannot keep up with demand. And please do not enter into this store thinking that you are going to get even the slightest about of respectful customer service there. No one smiles, no one wishes you a happy day, the baggers will literally smash all the food into a reusable bag, I mean you know that chips, bread, eggs... are delicate and will smash. Worst King Soopers ever! First, the parking lot is small and horribly designed. This is the only KS in the Stapleton area, so you'd think they'd design a better parking lot. Second, Sunday's is their stock day, so they never have ANYTHING stocked! Again, you'd think being the only KS in that area and Stapleton being very populated with young families and Sunday being a popular grocery shopping day that management would understand that and plan accordingly. Third, if they're going to hire security, it should be someone that can and will actually react with some urgency when they are called. I was there two weeks ago, walking toward the deli area, when they had to call security over the intercom. A man was walking quickly away from that area with sunglasses on. I watched security mosey on over to the deli, no urgency whatsoever. By then, the guy had circled through the store and was walking through the register area yelling "F**k the USA! Y'all are gonna die. F**k the USA!" Kinda scary. I was actually scanning areas that might be safe just in case he had a gun on him and started shooting. He got all the way from the register area to the front doors and security again was slowly strolling back towards the front doors, no urgency. I assume he heard the guy yelling since everyone else did, stopped their shopping and was looking at him. But security did NOTHING! If security couldn't hear him, even more of a reason for them not to be right for that job. I will never go there again! I'll have to go a little further to a KS that IS always stocked and doesn't just let scary people walk around the store like that. I don't know how management still has their jobs! read more

The store is not dirty and it's always overstocked! I agree that it's crowded and the gas station is a nightmare! My issue and advice is not to ever wait 3 days to return an item if you're charged a different price than listed on the shelf. On Friday, the sticker between the shelf grid said Popchips were 2 for $3.00. When I called the front end manager she acted like it would be no problem to bring the product back on Tuesday. On Tuesday, a new price tag had been put over the grid which said Popchips were 2 for $4.00. I was then treated like I was trying to con King Soopers! Although, I did get the Popchips for 2 for $3.00, the front end manager and the lady in customer service still acted like I was lying! My family and I have spent hundreds of hard earned dollars at King Soopers, so I don't appreciate being treated like I'm some thief, because I'm a minority! I feel sorry for the people who shop at K.S on welfare, because I'm sure they get treated with suspicion worse than I did. With that being said, I still love this store better than the one in Green Valley or East Colfax because you can always find what you're looking for in stock. read more
