I'm not one to really review a grocery store. I'm not above it or anything ridiculous, but my grocery shopping experiences are typically similar enough anywhere and it's never very noteworthy. However, I want to compliment the bakery team. After going to a different bakery in town and being quoted $85 for a small birthday cake for my 3-year-old, I decided to look elsewhere. I went in with a couple ideas, but was fully prepared to be told what I wanted couldn't happen. Except they made it happen, it was perfect...and $15. read more

This store is absolutely terrible. No one wants to help you or work. One day I was in there to buy a large amount of gift cards for work and was told that there wasn't anyone there who could sell me gift cards in that amount. Now that they've changed their pharmacy hours, I will be moving all of my prescriptions elsewhere as the hours don't work very well for people with full time jobs. This is not the best King Soopers in Denver. HOWEVER IT IS NOT THE WORST PEOPLE. Have you been to the sketchier one on Colorado ave? It smells like urine. At least this one does not. But yeah, most grocery stores give me anxiety attacks due to the over crowding and cart jams in the pasta aisle. This locations runs out of food a lot, but there are way too many people who need to go to this store, and when they finally open the location at East Bridge I will reassess my evaluation. Cashed USPS money orders here numerous times, website advertising that they cash them. Went in today and the lady behind the counter was adamant that they didn't cash them. Showed her the website where is said they did and she kept saying they've never done this. If you're going to advertise you cash money orders Kroger then cash them. If not take it off your website. I was just at King Soopers and one of the cashiers for reference the ladies name was Gay. She was trying to get the spray bottle next to another cashier checking out a guest and rather than an excuse me and some patients. She proceeds to harshly take everything out of the guests cart and move their cart to get the spray bottle. In the meantime her friend who was a customer gets in line behind me, Gay proceeds to clean off the register next to the current open register, and check her friend out. This was really not that big of a deal other than the fact that the customer and Gay proceeded to talk about "what my problem was". read more

I'm kind of surprised that this King Soopers has such a low rating honestly. While it's definitely not the nicest or best King Soopers I've been to in Denver the staff is super, super friendly and even on a dreaded Saturday morning grocery shopping trip they managed to keep the lines down to a minimum thanks to lots of self-checkouts and a plethora of open lines with cashiers. I think I was second in the line I joined around noon on a Saturday, even though the store was seriously packed. They also feature a gas station and a drive-thru pharmacy at this location which is pretty cool. And while I was there it seemed like a very neighborly place as folks in the aisles kept running into other people they knew and saying hello, inquiring about families and so on. As for the negatives - yes it is crowded, but we are in a grocery store wasteland over here and there are many folks that have to go here as it's the only one for a while. Apparently getting into the gas station leaves something to be desired. And the store layout is a little strange to me. But, truly I would much rather go to this King Soopers than the one on 14th any day of the week. read more

Dear Angry Gray Haired Man in the Super Swank Mercedes at the King Soopers Gas Station: I just want to apologize on Yelp for my having not seen the enter/exit arrows on the opposite side of the pumps when I pulled in. I would have sincerely apologized on the spot had you not been standing outside your car with the door open staring threateningly at myself and my 12 year old daughter. I know your plaintive cries to the KS worker in the booth went unanswered and that only further enraged you. You see, I didn't want to make you wait any longer than I had to, and yes, I was going the wrong way. However, aforementioned 12 year old had a sleepover the night before but didn't tell me she had to be picked up from her friend's house by 12:15PM. I had a lunch date with a wonderful friend planned and then had to cancel at the last minute to race over to Stapleton to pick her up. As I crossed Colfax and Yosemite, I knew I was headed into no man's land of gas stations, but I had to get there before my kid was put out on the porch. My bad. 12:08PM Gas light comes on when I'm at Yosemite and MLK. I keep going until I read 35th and Xanthia and my darling daughter is not on the porch as I had asked. I have had the AC on my car off for a while now to conserve gas. We walk through the gauntlet of admiring landscaping crew on lunch break, get in and head to the nearest gas station - yes, KS where you, Angry Gray Haired Man, were also waiting. I waited 10 minutes for 10 big SUVs who must have had gas tanks the size of swimming pools, then when the pump across the way opened up, I swooped over. I needed a full tank, but in order to accommodate you and to get the heck out of your threatening laser beam gaze, I only put in 10 gallons. I'll top it off when I return to my own neighborhood where people don't seem to be quite as irate and the gas pumps have easier ingress and egress. What was even more thrilling was the way you took your big shiny silver car and blocked me so I couldn't get out. Thank goodness I'm a farm girl and am fairly adept at backing out and was able to make my escape around your long, shiny car that cost more than my house. When my daughter and I pulled to the stop sign leading to our exit, we both breathed a sigh of relief. "That man was mean, Mom." I said I hoped that your day got better and I meant it. My opinion of this store has more to do with logistical factors than employees or management. This store is the only grocery store for a very large area, so it is completely overcrowded. There is not enough parking. There are too few cart corrals, so people just leave their carts strewn about in the lot. It is not uncommon to walk into the store and find there aren't any carts available. The store is small for the amount of inventory, so it seems crammed. The gas station is such a cluster that I don't even try to fill up my tank there anymore. Sometime around the spring or summer of 2015 they opted to remove the conveyor belts from the check out stands and set it up so the cart is pulled right in next to the checker. I assume this was done in an effort to prevent the lines of customers from trailing so far. All it did was make the check out experience more chaotic AND I have not had an employee help bag my groceries since they made this change, which makes it even more chaotic. The employees are helpful and nice for the most part. Plenty of self check out stations. Decent fresh sushi, nice cheese section. Honestly I typically choose to drive to the other side of the city for a better shopping experience, but this place isn't bad if I need to run in for a few things. read more

This grocery store is not up to par. If it wasn't for the convenience I wouldn't come here. The place is always crowded no matter what day or time. Another complaint I have with this King Soopers is their produce. They seem to always be out of something. They definitely do not stock up with produce correctly. A plus is that they do they a little clinic and a pharmacy inside. They even have a drive through for their pharmacy. They also have a Starbucks which is great. So the store has all the essentials but need to be kept better. Seems to me it's a bit dirty and unorganized at times. read more

I go to this terrible King Sooper, because it is currently the closest grocery store to my house. Every time I go, it puts me in a bad mood. The store is just a total mess and lacks some serious organization. They are seriously out of things I need on a regular basis, which means I have to take a second trip to different store. The parking lot is a nightmare. Just beware. I also once saw a lady at the deli cut open a huge bag of mashed potatoes and pour it into a pan ,so I don't know how much of the food in their deli is fresh, but the mashed potatoes are definitely not. read more

What can I say? It's a King Soopers. The best thing about this particular King Soopers has to be the gas station. The Sooper Card discount ranges from 3 cents to 10 cents but the gas is cheap even without the discount. Another thing that is interesting about this King Soopers is that it sits smack dab right between the hood and the expensive new Stapleton development. Therefore you get quite a mix of people. It's not uncommon to see the local Crips and the cast of Friends shopping in the same isle. read more

This is the worst King Soopers that I've been to in Denver by far, which sucks because I work right next door. I've seen groceries priced at $2-5 dollars more than at other King Soopers in the area, and have bought spoiled food from here at least once. Also, most of the employees I've run into seem super pissed off about something, especially the ones running the customer service counter. And holy crap, did I mention the LINE that constantly circles around the gas pumps outside? Every time I go there to fill up, there are around 10-15 cars circling the pumps like vultures. And at least 2 of the pumps are constantly out of service. 10 cents off every gallon of gas is awesome, but is it worth the 30 minute weight just to gas up? F that. Bitch session= completed. Conclusion= buy your groceries somewhere else, if you can help it. read more

What a cluster f**k! This King Soopers serves both Stapleton residents and the surrounding (less than nice) areas around Quebec. This causes quite a clash in culture. First the positives - decent produce department that (sometimes) has a pretty decent organic selection. They have a great price on organic free range chicken, but otherwise, not a whole lot of high quality meats. Outside of that, it has a decent variety. Okay - the negatives. Let me set this up by saying, I literally come close to dying of blood pressure increases and stress when I enter the world that is King Soopers on Quebec. First, the parking lot is horribly set up and used by complete idiots. The gas station is the biggest disaster you could ever possibly imagine (the designer should be shot). Being the only one within miles and used by some of the interesting Stapleton neighbors west of Quebec causes another scene entirely. Recently, I heard a woman yelling over to another woman (across pumps) about how she stabbed her boyfriend (True Story!)....During prime times here (all times except extremely early or late), you could wait 15 minutes to get gas (unless you're willing to get really aggressive).... In the store, don't even think about using the customer service counter. The line is often 15 people deep - trying to cash their checks most times (only reason this really bothers me is the inconvenience in my lottery ticket buying habits - my redneck retirement plan ;).... I only wish it wasn't so convenient. PLEASE SPROUTS, WHOLE FOODS, ANYONE - OPEN ANOTHER GROCERY STORE HERE!!!!! Love the selection of soups. The Prices aren't bad either with the King Soopers card. They need more than one employee at the Customer Service Desk. But he was more than helpful to get me a card and send a fax off. And for 1.00 wasn't bad at all. Everything is well displayed and stocked. Checked out the Sushi but didn't buy any. Used the Self check out which was a breeze as well. read more

After more visits, I'm becoming less and less impressed. The produce selection is very uneven and sometimes simply unacceptable. On a recent trip they did not have flat leaf parsley nor did they have mint leaves and the asparagus they did have looked disgusting. The meat selection is pretty weak as well and the quality if only so so. Also frustrated that it's very difficult to find some cooking items and if they do have it, they have one brand only and it's incredibly expensive. Case in point: Arborio rice for $4.50 a pound which seems ridiculous. Need to find a store that does a better job of catering to home cooks yet doesn't require me to take a second job (looking at you Whole Foods). As another poster said, the gas line is a complete joke. One redeeming quality, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm stuck as it's the closest place but desperately want to find something else. read more

This King Soopers is like any other, just another grocery store. There isn't anything that makes it stick out, other than it's always busy, and I mean always... Luckily there are plenty of self check out booths to accommodate those of use wanting to get in and out quickly. read more

This store services about, random guess 40,000 people, and at any given time, it seems that one-quarter of that number is shopping there. Add to that the construction, limited parking and employees that seem like they can not be bothered to work (deli and service desk, I am talking to you) and this place is right up there on the annoyance scale with the King Soopers in Cap Hill. read more

Let me start off by saying, I am a King Soopers fan, I prefer my local King Soopers (Iliff/Buckley in Aurora) vice other grocery stores in my local area. While this King Soopers is up to standards as far as selection, customer service, grocery availability, etc, the reason I am giving this location only two stars is their AWFUL parking lot. in King Soopers defense, this may be due to the Stapleton infrastructure, but nonetheless the parking is horrible. Time of day and/or day of week, it does not seem to make a difference, the parking is a nightmare. There is a King Soopers gas station in the parking lot that contributes to the parking mess. I recommend not getting gas here, but use your discount at one of the affiliated King Soopers discount gas stations I use this King Soopers about once a month, as a convenience, because my daughter lives nearby. Due to the parking lot, I prefer to walk there. If/when she no longer lives on Stapleton, I will no longer use this location. read more

I reluctantly go here when I need more than just food. Today I needed some Comet for cleaning. Everything is fine until checkout. Without fail, the checkout process is ridiculous. Long lines, slow cashiers, no one to bag. Heaven forbid someone has a coupon, because everything will grind to a halt. I stood behind a woman, an employee, checking out a small basket. But said small basket was not actually being processed, but she was going over what looked like a paycheck with the cashier. Light was on that the lane was open... After waiting a few minutes, I asked if I should maybe go to another lane. She said "that one Is open" dismissively, and pointed to a long line, with a sloth-like cashier. Slow. Unmotivated. Unhelpful. Pay your cashiers better, Krogers. They're losing you customers. I'll gladly shop Trader Joe's and Sprouts, and get my cleaning products at Walgreens. I'm done! read more

For those from the california area, king soopers is part of the krogers family, so its basially like Ralph's. Weekly ads can be found online and they also have a mobile app that allows you to add digital coupons to your king sooper card. There is a sushi counter at the store that makes fresh sushi. Prices are relative reasonable and the quality looks pretty fresh. Produce selection is decent but dont expect to find any ethnic ingredients. Otherwise, prices are reasonable and the shelves seemed to be pretty well stocked. read more

It's the closest if i'm over in the stapleton area at target, home depot etc... It is a giant pain to get into - the choices are through the little main street thing before it, or through the crowd at he gas station after it. ugh. Not alot of a parking and it's laid out weird. The "remodel" leaves it different than other king soopers i'm used to shopping at, so it takes me longer to find anything and when i'm here i'm usually on a mission. Self checkout is pretty nice - they have 4 bag stations which makes stacking your stuff nice - i always hate when the machines accuse me of stealing when i run out of room! I have not used the gas pumps but it would be nice if i came her more often. But all in all there is no draw for me. read more

Wish i could give this place less than one star. It is consistently the worst possible grocery store imaginable in terms of incompetence, lack of cleanliness, inconvenience, and lack of actual produce/products. The only reason I have ever returned is because I live 2 blocks away and I still go reluctantly and only as a last resort. My wife goes about once a month and every time she goes, she ends up angry. I can see why. I prefer to drive another 3 miles to a better store (Super Target in Northfield). Yesterday I ran in because I needed milk, cereal, and cat food. I had other things on my list but didn't get them because there were no carts. No baskets. No one doing cart runs. Nothing. I carried only the things I could handle with two hands. It took me 15 minutes to get those three items, mainly because every checkout was backed up 10 people deep - including the self-checkouts which I used. I stood in line 10 minutes. Usually the checkout people seem completely stoned or are just talking across customers to other checkers. I constantly get hassled by people standing at the entrance to the store and weirdos solicit you as you get out of your car. The parking lot is a nightmare, and the produce is usually a disaster. Once i went in to get fruit and some guy was stocking blueberries while hacking up a lung and handling the fruit. Don't even attempt to get gas at their gas station. Unless you want to get into a fist fight. This place is a total disgrace. It lacks proper management and oversight. I hope King Soopers corporate steps up and figures this shit out, because it is a huge black mark on their brand. I'm both very excited and very concerned that King Soopers is opening a store in Eastbridge. I hope it is nothing like this one on Quebec. If it is, I will never shop at their brand again. read more

Day of the Shopping Dead! I've lived in Stapleton for more than a decade and shopped at this store as often as anyone - at least hundreds of times. I love it and hate it - but really hate it more than I love it. This store is an ideal location for so many residents of Stapleton and East Park Hill - and maybe that's the problem. This store may be the location for the next sequel in the Night of the Living Dead series - at least it could be - or it maybe should be part of the Walking Dead. The only reason I shop here is because of the location and the convenience factor. I've figured out how/where to park, although on occasion I have to enter the main lot and that is always a hassle. My main complaint has to do with how poorly managed this store is. The employees quite often seem unfriendly and even seem annoyed. I've been in several times when a checkout stand will be lit up only to find the checker chatting with another coworker while I stand and wait. Forget trying to get help finding anything. I've had employees walk right by me many times when they can tell I'm looking for something. Go in early and they aisles will be stacked up with stock items with cranky stockers who want you out of their way. Go in mid-day and this place will be a mob scene with lines and shoppers everywhere giving you the feeling like you've stepped into some post apocalyptic run on the market. Go in late in the day and again find the aisles stacked with inventory and cranky workers wanting you out of their way or find the place deserted like an episode from the Walking Dead. The only good experience I've had in recent years is at their customer service desk, but that's always a long line and a lot of time spent waiting. Anyhow, as I say, if you have a chance to go, don't. Go to Sprouts or Costco. If this store had any real competition it would be wiped out or revamped, but that's not about to happen any time soon. If anyone from Kroger/King Soopers reads this - please put some time and energy into better management and some more employees at this location. read more

This store has the most lazy deli workers because the chicken is dry and it taste horrible. It looks nasty sitting up their dry as a desert.

I really hate this store but it's in my Stapleton neighborhood so it's the closet grocery store. The customer service is non-existent. It's like they go out of they way NOT to help you. The gas station is ridiculously hard to get into. I called to day to try to order a deli tray for a work potluck but the girl that answered the phone was so incredibly rude that I just hung up. This gas station isn't too bad, but I've noticed the gas prices here are generally higher than other local gas stations. I think the reason being is because you get to use King Soopers points for discount, so they put the price up to accommodate discounts. read more

Worst grocery store I have ever been to. Always busy and always understaffed. I live in Stapleton and go out of my way to go to the Albertson's in Lowry. Whoever runs this place should be ashamed and FIRED. The last time I was there it was 15 degrees outside and snowing. I walked inside to find no carts. I stopped an employee who was standing there and said, "There are no carts." He looked around and confirmed (like I was going to lie about it) then got a walkie talkie to get someone to get carts. There were 3 employees standing there all talking about how there weren't any carts in the building. Hey hey hey! I have a solution! Don't just stand there and talk about it do something about it! We shop here a lot. A few months back i noticed the employees becoming more friendly. Then, all of a sudden they were back to their old, cranky selves. Witnessed an argument in the main aisle between two employees. They constantly lie on their meat and chicken packaging. We weigh the contents when we get home and consistentlyare 1 to1.5 pounds under what the packaging says it is. read more

The soundtrack at this place is on point. It overshadows and quite frankly makes up for the horrendous service from the deli counter. I was straight up in there one day and that short white dude (looks like he's on work release) was being harassed by some older black dude who also works there. They were yelling at each other and I seriously thought it was gonna get violent..i almost opened up a bag of popcorn to watch what was gonna happen. I almost forgot that inwas being ignored while these dudes were going at it. Anyway. The music at this spot is really good and o can't help but dance when I'm picking out my groceries. The location of this King's is great, and it has a gas station - so who can complain right? Just about fricken everyone. First, the gas station is a nightmare to get in and out of. Poorly placed into the parking lot to make backups, confusion and lines. I've been to gas stations with 4 pumps only that take less time to get to a pump. User error maybe, but holy cow. Now on to the store, do you want customer service? Well go blow yourself, b/c have you seen the Chappelle Show PopCopy? That might as well be this places' employee training. This place is always packed even at random times during the week, and maybe that's why the bad attitude. But seriously, first being accused of a coupon King's sent me in the mail must be a fake and when it wouldn't scan at first rolling your eyes like I'm some lady trying to steal $2. Yes, b/c I fake coupons, thanks. Then having to enter the code (oh no!) w/ her sh-t attitude and then asking if it really was worth the $2? No, b/c I would rather pay $2 more for something than I have too. Right? I'm soooooo sorry that you are way better than me and you don't need coupons b/c you got it going on lady. I used to live in the Stapleton area and this place was walking distance which was great. I have since moved further south but this place is stil between work and home so it is still convenient. Overall it is an OK store. Good product and meat section. The downs are that the parking is chaos and the gas station is always packed. read more
