When I was growing up in the 80s I loved arcade machines. Just to clarify I mean REAL arcade…read moremachines with a joystick and buttons. Not the rubbish that you find at your local "Intencity" or "Tunza Fun". You would be hard pressed to find one single machine with a simple layout of joystick and buttons in those places. In the 80s the games were fun and uncomplicated and that's how I like them. There was a chain of arcade game hangouts called "Timezone" where I spent some of the best years of my early teens. It wasn't just the machines, it was the atmosphere. It's hard to explain... As a child I always wanted an arcade machine in my bedroom. I had no money or space for it, but I knew I wanted one. My Mum always said I could have one "when I move out". Little did she know... I found the Amusementworx website and arranged to visit the store as soon as I could. After that first visit I walked out of that store with an arcade machine. Like I WASN'T going to!!! The 2 Simons who run the place are really passionate about games and know their stuff. If they don't have it they will do their best to source it for you. They will also supply gameboards to fit into existing machines so you don't have to fill your house with cabinets. You just replace the board in your existing machine with the new one you just purchased, just like changing a cartridge in an old console. Since that first visit I've frequented the store quite regularly. I've owned up to 4 machines at any one time and I've purchased every single one from Amusementworx. They offer a large range of various arcade cabinets, pinball machines and jukeboxes. If you also had a dream of owning your own arcade or pinball machine then visit the 2 Simons.

Absolutely the best play cafe I've been to in Adelaide! This place will appeal to every kid, and…read morethe kid in all of us. There's such a wide range of activities here for all ages. The main attraction is a giant netted play area - including spider web like climbing structures, net tunnels, foam speed bumps, ladders, hanging obstacles, ball shooters and a giant bumpy slide. Honesty I don't know who was more excited to play in there - me or the 2 year old whose birthday party I was at! Apart from the main play area there are also a few sub sections: - There is an area to the side with soccer goals and a range of balls to practice your shooting. - The under 3's have their own play area with foam climbing equipment, a smaller slide, bouncy castle and a ball pit. - There's an area for very small children with ride on cars, jolly jumpers and bouncers as well as coin operated massage chairs for the parents! - A bigger bouncy castle with a bouncy slide is to the side. - But wait! There's more! There is also a big pirate ship ride that runs roughly every hour and is free with your entry! - There is also a cafe that offers a range of food such as sandwiches, salads, icecreams and coffee. This is basically a kids paradise. I came for a birthday party and every kid had something to play on. The party gets its own room for the kids to eat in and a table for the parents to hang out on. The cafe area isn't hugely welcoming but I know I'd be in the play areas the whole time so it didn't really matter to me. The party food was old school - little frankfurts, chips, lollies & fairy bread. When going for a birthday party the birthday child even gets a special party bag with a few little gifts and a free return pass for another visit inside. If anyone is looking to get rid of their small children for a day - I now know just the place, and just the person to take them there! ;)

The Little People's Lounge is a small arcade area that is part of the new Woodcroft Town Centre…read more Tucked away near the exit to the underground carpark, this facility is (for some reason) well listed on signs around the shopping centre. While it is meant to be a place for kids to play, there is really not a lot there and without any money they can't do anything. The area is typically unsupervised (unless you stay with your kids) and is right near a travelator so you can not really let kids play here or stay here while you do your shopping. Even if you take your kids here to play, they will probably spend no more than a couple minutes before getting really bored. It is also hardly a lounge as there is no good seating except for a nearby which faces away from the "lounge" facility. In the lounge are three vending machines and three coin operated rides. The vending machines stock potato crisps, drinks and the like. The coin operated rides include Superman, Bananas in Pajamas and a fire truck. There is also a coin operated arcade Tetris style game there. So in short, there is nothing kids can do here without spending money. There is barely any room to stand in this area as it is crammed into a left over corner. This is not a lounge by any standard.
