There's steam engine displays and an exhibition hall with farming machinery displays amongst other wonderful things on display. The restaurant/snack bar is very good and we managed to feed 4 of us very reasonably priced. We visited this place twice and loved it every time, whole heartedly recommended.

There is a little teashop on the premises (where you pay your admission fee) and then you walk into the 'farm'. You will be greeted by owls of all shapes and sizes. Follow the path to find all sorts of goats, sheep, chickens and lots more besides. My toddler had a great time, even if she was a bit scared of the goats (who are a bit over-friendly LOL!) I can't imagine older kids or teenagers enjoying it that much though. A must-see.

There is so many different animals at Totnes Rare Breeds Farm such as hedgehogs (which you can hold…read moreask a member of staff), donkeys, pigs, unusual looking sheep, goats and birds. At the entrance you are given a bag of food to give to the animals. You can touch all the animals. I loved the sheep with the floppy ears. At the time of my visit (April) there was lambs that you could bottle feed which I did so sweet. If you want to touch the birds of prey then you will have to ask a member of staff who then will bring them over to you. They also have red /black squirrels (in a cage). You can also feed the squirrels just ask a member of staff for some monkey nuts. I found the squirrels preferred it when the nuts where given out of the shell. When I visited there was some lambs so I was allowed to bottle feed the lambs which was amazing. Totnes is a beautiful small place set behind a train station so you have to park your car at the station and walk around the station and over a bridge and over the train track to get there (only a short walk) but well worth it. Only need a hour or so at the farm as very small. There is a café if you would like to grab a bite to watch the steam train go by or even take in the scenery around. Would recommend a visit.

It was a great attraction that was often very busy. Heres hoping it will reopen soon. Although it was a small, it did have a nice selection of arcade games and penny machines and was normally slightly quieter and less noisy than the one near the front so was great. This country park is beside the River Dart in Ashburton on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. There is…read morea campsite and cottages for on site accommodation or it can be visited as a day trip. The setting is an old estate and their are child oriented family outdoor activities set throughout the grounds, with something for all ages of kids, from toddler areas up to some fairly daring stuff for teens. There are assault courses throught the trees, zip slides, pirate ship in the lake, (bit stony-use beach shoes/crocks) wooden forts etc. It's all made of wood, and is a lovely, natural setting in woodland for an old fashioned fun family day out. Its the sort of place where kids feel they've done something a bit brave and builds confidence but is safe. There are also bookable activities such as canoeing, climbing and high ropes for the really adventurous.

Southern and Westernmost team in England too. Way down by the sea. Absolutely love it here. I've always loved Plymouth Argyle, I'm not really sure why. My concert down here was mediocre, and outdoor actually, and I haven't found any amazing food in the city. It might be because they play in bright green, or are an old seafaring port city (which is so romantic) and the former capital of the British Naval Fleet (which isn't really a good thing but w/e), and also that they had Olly as their manager (Ian Holloway) which is super fun. He even had the accent to match it. But my fave thing is that they play in bright green and they call this park Home. Literally. They've really fallen from grace, as recently as a few years ago they were flirting with the possibility of promotion to the Premier League and now they're languishing all the way down in the lowest tier. They were formed back in 1886. Very impressive. I've visited this stadium several times over many years and it always looks like a bigger deal than you'd think, probably because the team is such a big deal regionally. The nickname "The Pilgrims" should resonate with Americans, although it's pretty, um, Grim. The city of Plymouth is the largest to have never hosted Premier League/top division football. They're also the most southern and the most western club in the league. I'll give them 5 stars in the hope that it inspires them to rise back up where they belong. With a 17k capacity, they belong in a much higher league.

This…read moreone was special because my family lives just down the road and it has some of the loveliest views of Plymouth across the River Tamar. You can visit the grounds (865 acres) for free, so my review is limited to that experience. For a fee you can visit the Mount Edgcumbe House and Earl's Garden. There is no garden like an English garden. This one was absolutely lovely since there were so many different and distinct areas as you rambled through the large estate. The manicured Italian and French Gardens led to the more rambling American Garden with a geyser in the middle. But really the most interesting for my son were the battery, with cannons, pointing out over the river. There is a Block House nearby that helps a child imagine defending the estate against all intruders.

One of the nicest places for a walk in the area with some great views.
