A great location in Pickering. We dropped our bags early and parked the car until check in. They…read morealso let us keep the car overnight in their car park when we went to do the NYMR rail trip the following day. Very friendly staff. Tom took our bags to the room and then doubled up as Bartender in the evening. He was polite and helpful and I only wish management would buy some martini glasses then he could have made me really happy. This is what I call an old school hotel. the hotel room was spacious, the staff friendly and the building had lots of nooks and crannys. Manage your expectations and you wont be disappointed.

I've eaten here a couple of times and I've yet to be disappointed -- although sadly I've not stayed…read morehere, so I can't comment on the rooms they have. The hotel is situated on the roundabout where the A169 meets the A170 -- so it's certainly very accessible. There's a dedicated car park (accessed from the A169) where it's usually possible to find a car-parking space. Inside the hotel is well decorated and very pleasant. The restaurant serves all the things you'd expect it to, and the quality of the food cannot be faulted. It's probably slightly above average pricewise, but then you get what you pay for It's opposite the Crossways hotel and part of me fears than during the economic downturn only one of these two great hotels may survive. If so, Pickering would be robbed of a great place to eat.

The room was a regular 'corporate' style and had all the regular items you expect to find. There was a cuddly teddy bear on the bed which you can adopt if you ask at Reception. The bathroom was a little tired and needs some updating. There was plenty of hot water, towels and Molton Brown toiletries. The room was refreshed twice a day, which was fab. Breakfast was in the restaurant and there was plenty of cereal, fruit juice and cooked items available which was cooked to order. Delish! The bar prices are expensive. The meal we had in the restaurant was lovely, service was excellent. The prices were expensive. £45 for 3 a la carte courses and £25 from the other menu. You could pick and choose off both. All the staff we came into contact with were great: friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

They did but not till 9.00 pm as we weren't in a rush we decided we would eat here. We opted for the taster menu and all I can say is it was well worth the wait, the food was cooked and presented to a high standard the wine selection with the food was also excellent. I couldn't help but recommend this place for an evening's meal, it's not on the cheap side but for a special occasion worth the visit if you are looking for good food in nice surroundings.
