Let me start my first review by saying "I cannot recommend this school enough"!!!!!! As a first time mom, I was extremely anxious about sending my 3 yr old to pre school; she herself had some social anxiety and did not take well to new people (or children). After visiting a number of schools in the south suburbs, I felt comfortable enough after my visits to Salem to choose their program, and I'm so glad I did! My daughter has attended this school for 7 months now and LOVES the program; she has blossomed socially and truly loves her new friends and teachers. Equally as important, I am thrilled with the education she receives! In addition to learning the basics (writing her name, recognizing letters, words and numbers, music, etc.) I'm amazed at the spiritual concepts and life lessons she has learned from the teachers at this school (how many 3 year olds can talk to you about taking "personal responsibility")! The staff is so nurturing and loving to the children, all while promoting a high standard of respect and behavior with and amongst the children. My daughter who used to avoid people at all costs.....can't wait to get to school everyday and even asks why she can't spend the night! I can go to work everyday and feel totally confident that my daughter is safe, happy, and LEARNING. What drew us to this preschool initially was the fact that you drop your kids off/ they come out to the car to get them. This is soo convenient when you have other kids. All the teachers are so great with the kids, and even when there wasn't preschool going on (during the heart of the pandemic), they put stuff up on their Facebook to keep the kids engaged. I felt unwanted but I stuck it out for my daughter. They provided information but when I asked questions, they seemed annoyed and put off. I asked about their record as far as competition and that's when the excuses started. It almost sounded like they blamed the parents and sometimes even the students. They went on and on about the older team but after some research and talking to other parents, that's the furthest from the truth. Not a way to do business if you ask me. It was nice to find a gym that is super supportive and have great role models for my daughter to look up to.
