It's like looking at a parody restaurant from a movie with all the sports and tchotchke memorabilia on the walls from years gone by. It's in a desperate need of an update. My biggest gripe was the server taking our deserts order while in the middle of vacuuming the restaurant because they were closing soon and she obviously wanted to go home. It doesn't make you feel very welcome. They also locked the doors and told us we had to leave from the side door instead of the main entrance. I don't know if I'll be back, it doesn't feel like they want me to come back.

I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.
