This Roman villa is a unique attraction for Bristol, unveiled during the construction of the Lawrence Weston housing estate just outside of the city.
Many of the findings from the site such as pottery, iron tools and coins are now displayed in Bristol's City Museum, but you can see Bristol's only Roman bath suite, as well as mosaic floors and Roman central heating.
To get access, you need to collect a key (£5 deposit required) from Blaise Castle House Museum to let yourself in - so you obviously need to go when Blaise Castle is open (10am-5pm on Monday-Wednesday or Saturday-Sunday; closed Thursday and Fridays).
Alternatively, during the summer you can visit the villa on occasional themed open days, such as 'Roman Gods' or 'Roman Medicine', which aim to bring the venue to life with more visitors. read more
