I LOVE this shopping Centre; it's busy, bustling and brimming with all the treats you could want. One of the best things about the shopping centre is the Sainsbury's; it's the best and cheapest supermarket mega-store in the area, and has the largest selection of Quorn and vegetarian foods in the area (aside from specialist shops). There's also an Iceland, although I'm pretty opposed to this chain it is cheap as chips. There's the Hackney obligatory Percy Ingles, the bakery and a hot nut stand (the shop used to be on Kingsland Road but has now moved in here). There's also clothes shops, a Holland and Barret and acupuncture shop. As if in keeping with the Ridley Rd market, there's also stalls inside selling clothes that Albert Square would be proud of! Then of course there's the infamous Matalan where there was sadly a terrible murder earlier this year. This forced a tightening of security, and you often see police men wandering around. That said, the liveliness of the shopping centre is infectious, and seriously, the Sainsburys is well cheap! read more

Kingsland shopping centre needs a good refurbishment because at the moment it is grim rundown with rubbish shops eg matalan and market stall which make crammed and lot of the retail units in the shopping centre is small which is not good and the shopping centre is not welcoming eg no benches,toilets.car parking price is so expensive not wroth the price.hardly famous retail brands in the shopping centre which is really bad.the shopping centre smell like brunt oil which is really bad and unfriendly and the popcorn stall should their own shop.i only go to shopping centre because no else in the area to shop.i prefer to go to Stratford. read more

What a stressful shopping experience- from the moment you walk through the doors you are met by the stench of butter popcorn, police warning signs and gangs of school kids. It is hell. But, it does have a Matalan which has a big fancy dress section (I always find myself running around Kingsland Shopping centre/ridley road looking for animal/album cover costumes) and it does have a large Sainsburys, which is far cheaper than the Tesco metro up the road. read more

When I find myself teaching in Hackney (which is often of late) I often pop into this shopping centre after work for a little peek around the Dorothy Perkins and the Matalan. I likes me some affordable fashion. It's an odd mix, this place. Nicer shops like DP/Burton and a big Sainsbury's and such paired with bizarre stalls of cheap underwear and a smelly donut kiosk. But the popcorn from the booth at mid-mall is tasty. And it's a fun little place to enjoy a little afterwork shopping/browsing. Plus, it's right by the Overground station so if I need to pick up any items for dinner, it's easy to stop into the Sainsbury's before catching the train. Definitely not a nice place, but not a terrible one either. read more

My boyfriend and I pop into Kingsland Shopping Centre every now and then to do a 'big shop' in Sainsbury's which is the largest supermarket nearby. Every time we leave I tell myself I'll never go back. The first problem I have with Kingsland Shopping Centre are the security alerts that go off every hour or so. There's nothing less relaxing during your Saturday morning shop than the sound of a siren blaring and a a voice repeating 'There has been an incident in the shopping centre, please remain calm'. Personally, I find being told to remain calm doesn't make me feel very calm. Most often these alerts are just the result of petty shoplifters who are quickly caught but once I saw a full on fight in Holland and Barrett (yes the health food shop- maybe there was only one bag of yoghurt coated raisens left?) My second issue with this shop is the Sainsbury's itself. The staff here are so consistently rude that I may just have to turn into my mother and write a letter about it. Every time I've tried to use the deli or fish counter I've had to wait until the server was finished having a chat with his friends. Last time I bought fish from here it was really badly prepared and I was unimpressed that I had been charged so much for it. Oh, and then there's the tills! The women at these tills seem to make it a challenge for themselves to rush your food through the bleeper so fast that there is no way you can possibly pack it all. Then your change is thrown at you and all of a sudden someone else's shopping is mixing its way into yours and you still haven't had the chance to open that bag you packed. This is the only the second time that I have ever awarded a one star but I really don't like this place. All the cheap shops in the world aren't worth the horrible atmosphere in here. read more

This review (and it appears the others in this section) are for Kingsland Shopping Centre, not an individual business. I'm trying to get it sorted out... --------------- If you are visiting Ridley Road Market you may well find yourself wandering into here. Well, it does the job, but it's not really anything special. You'll find a lot of the usual shops: Holland and Barrats, Superdrug, phone shops, clothes shops. Most are not superstores though: the two large stores are Sainsburys and Matalan. The centre also has a few cheap stores towards the back (though you'll find more of those out on Kingsland Road), and a new café which I haven't tried. According to the day they also have a range of stalls in the central area. Quite often recently there's been a nice stall selling a range of dried fruit and nuts. No doubt there will soon be Santa's Grotto set up in the same area. There are loos inside. Out the back, past Matalan you'll find parking, an expensive superloo and the area's regular busker (a very friendly chap). Like I said, the shopping centre is nothing special, but it does the job. read more

Kingsland shopping centre is the worst centre in the whole of the UK And the Stools being ript off with the crazy rents never see any security and always dirty even thow the shops are paying for the service I'm only putting one star because it will not let me review without ticking on it read more

Unfortunately most of the shops were closed at the time when I walked in and I didn't really have money to go shopping... But it looked great! Loads of shoes, loads of clothes and some supermarkets, all you need really. I hope I'll have the chance to come back and buy all the cool stuff here! read more

Lousy place. Just a handful of shops, but the worst part is the parking. While almost all places that size in London offer free parking for maybe 2 hours or so in return for spending a certain amount in the shops, this one does not. You get a run of the mill small set of shops, with average prices, but you must pay £6 for one hour parking of £10 for two. This is more than double what you have to pay for a decent shopping centre, such as Westfield Stratford. In addition the place is haunt for buskers and beggars. read more

Really uninspiring, grubby, run of the mill city shopping centre with an arse end selection of shops...Superdrug anyone? So why have I given it four stars? Because of the majestic stalls! While I was living in the area it was my go to whenever I needed my fix of cheap jewellery, candy floss and Nollywood DVDs. Honestly, the weirdest selection of stalls but when you compulsively buy cheap, useless tat for kicks like myself it is a dream land. The most important stall of course...for ladies that love really bad quality, hard to find doorknocker earrings, is right in the middle of the shopping centre. The guy just hands you a pair of scissors and a basket and lets you chop away massive hoop earrings and necklaces that turn your skin green off the display at a pound a pop. It's heaven! read more

This is a well known shopping centre in East London with top high street retailers such as New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Footlocker, Matalan, Superdrugs, Burtons and T-mobile. The shopping centre also has shops that sell shoes and bags at discounted prices. There are also has stalls in the shopping centre that sells variety of snacks such as freshly squeeze juice (where you choose the fruits), popcorns, nuts and homeware such as towels, bedcovers and robes as well as jewellery & watches. The shopping centre is open daily and many buses from cantral london go past this shopping sentre. It is right outside Dalston station. read more

On the 29 October 2014, I parked in the Dalston car park to collect an online order from Matalan, Dalston. In the past, I paid the £2.00 charge knowing that I would probably not be in the store for more than 15 minutes. That evening I went to collect some goods from Matalan, spending less than 15 minutes in the store to find out that the charges had increased to £4.00. I was absolutely mortified, I could not believe that a shopping centre could impose such extortionate charges for parking up to 1 hour. I fathom to quite understand the reasoning behind such a rip off. You have to realise that from time to time not all customers are shopping in Sainsburys to have their ticket endorsed, and might just be popping in for a small item from say, Iceland, Superdrug or other stores in the shopping mall. If this car park has been out-sourced, then Kingsland Shopping should seriously reconsider its contract with such company. I am sure the ethos is to promote Kingsland Shopping not to rob customers by charging £4.00 for parking less than 1 hour. I would expect these type of charges in Mayfair, unfortunately Dalston does not compare. I have parked at Wood Green Shopping Centre, Westfield Stratford, Lakeside and many other car parks and none of them imposed such thieving charges as Dalston. You can rest assure that I will not be promoting Kingsland Shopping Centre to friends and family. read more
