On Nov 19/24 we needed to get towing services to a dealership. The dealership referred us to call Kingsway Towing. The wait time was good. A young man named Zak #66 was so helpful and knowledgeable. He loaded up our vehicle with caution was telling us what all he was doing etc. As he was done and ready to leave he made it very clear he would go slow down the gravel road with our vehicle. We lost both tires (Dool tires) on our rv in crazy weather and after dealing with road side assistance for over 6 hours to no avail Kingsway Towing came to our rescue. Of all the companies we called they came and they came when they said they would not four hours after. Not only was Dennis knowledgeable and honest but he helped me carry all of stuff into the rv and took us somewhere safe. Both Dennis and the dispatch gentleman were both so kind to me an extremely stressful and hot day. They also were extremely fairly priced in my opinion on top of doing a good job... I cannot say anything about the actual towing service because, unfortunately, the lady I spoke to on the phone hung up on me during my call. During the call she was very short with me and said they were not going to help us due to the high demand and then proceeded to hang up without any sort of response back. Will never look to this service for help, and I strongly recommend Cliff's towing for your towing needs. They were nice, fast, and inexpensive in comparison to all other options. read more

We did not at all have a good experience with this company. Unfortunately, after speaking with the Operations Manager and attempting to deal with our issues directly, I was left awaiting a return phone call that never came, have still not been provided with a receipt, and have not received the partial reimbursement that I was promised. After calling this company at 8pm for a quick tow, we were told that there would be a 1hr wait. At approximately 11:30pm our tow finally arrived and what should have been a quick 1hr job max turned into 2hr charge totalling $262. For a small motorcycle. We kept pace with the driver who consistently went 20km/hr below the speed limit, obviously milking the clock, and charged us 1.5hrs drive time for what should only have been 45min. As I mentioned, I tried to deal with the company directly to resolve the issue and have yet to hear back. I am beyond disappointed with the poor service, lack of punctuality, lack of professionalism and substantial overcharge of this company. read more

Over the weekend I was involved in a collision. My vehicle was no longer drivable, I called AMA, and they sent this company. A man named Dennis Riehl came to tow my vehicle, he left my vehicle on the side of the road after he was unable to find the address I gave them. He hung up on me several times when I tried to direct him to the location. He literally left my car on the side of the road and said "CALL ANOTHER TOW TRUCK, IM NOT DEALING WITH THIS SHIT." I was completely appalled that they would even hire a person this incapable of human basic interaction, in a business or where they provide service to customers. After receiving this terrible service, I called and made a complaint and to date, no manager, owner, etc, has called to even apologize for this mans behaviour. My experience with Dennis Riehl turned a bad night even worse, and I will NEVER use Kingsway towing again. read more

THESE GUYS ARE TOTAL PIECE OF WORK. DONT CALL THESE GUYS FOR ANYTHING. My insurance company called these guys for Battery boost during cold snap (below -30 overnight cold) and these guys sorted by battery and the guys just left stating there is nothing wrong with battery, I need starter replaced. Upon towing (with different towing company) my car to dealer, dealer fixed my car for stating that someone shorted my battery. When I took my invoice (from dealer stating the battery short circuit) to these guys for reimbursement, they just simply refuse to take any responsibility for lack of knowledge. I have left multiple voicemails (Reception forward my message to manager which never goes to him) with NO reply back. I do not recommend this to anyone. These people DON'T know what they are doing. Will never use this company, a driver wouldn't let me exit a parking lot. He was driving into the parking lot, when I waved to get him to let me through he charged my car. Now I'm bumper to bumper with him and I had no choice but to reverse into the parking lot to let him in. He wasn't towing anyone at the time. This is a company I would avoid at all costs. The drivers that I have met are very friendly and welcoming and very well experience and do their job right. The issue I have with this company is the new owner Ken. This individual went into the company believing it is a great way to make money without any experience with towing what so ever. He is the most ignorant, childish, disrespectful individual I have ever known. He treats his employees like dirt from what I see second hand ( husband was a former tow truck operator. ) Ken doesn't appreciate the work the employees put out for him to do well for the company. Beware if you are even considering working for them and if you were to ever leave and you forget any tools you paid for out of your pocket. It will be an extreme pain to retrieve back. Even to the point you need to involve the police. Ken is very unprofessional dealing with any situation. The wait was long. 3 hour wait. But the driver was very kind. He even followed me home to drop off the car that was towed and then drove me back to my car for no charge (3 block away). Would recommend if you're not in a total rush and the service all depends on the driver. read more

Please see the photos I have attached of the driver giving me the finger and recording me on his phone while he should've been driving and watching the road. On October 16, I encountered this truck driver near the Kingsway area. He was driving irresponsibly, almost drove into our lane so we honked at him. Apparently that pissed him off so he started honking at us and causing a commotion. I took a picture of the license plate for safety purposes. When we pulled up next to him he pulled out his phone and was recording/taking photos of us instead of watching the road, meanwhile he had a passenger/customer in the vehicle and a car hooked up. He told us to roll down the window and was mocking us and trying to intimidate us by lying and saying that he worked for the police (they are not employed by the police) and that he was going to sue us for recording him. I stated that I was just doing the same thing that he was doing and he started acting crazy, giving us the finger, waving, giving a thumbs up, yelling that our headlights were out (they weren't, they shut off when the turn signal is on) and even mocked me for being disabled (which can all be seen and heard on video). I called the company and reported him and the manager and/or owner never reached out to us. I guess they really don't care about customers or their property since they allow their drivers to behave inappropriately and do not require them to obey the rules of the road, especially when towing a vehicle. We used Kingsway because another towing company (Cliff's) strung us along for several hours making us wait for a tow truck that never arrived... Called Kingsway and about 15 minutes later they were there with a flatbed truck, and had us towed to the dealership in no time flat. No damage, no problems. and they were $80 cheaper than Cliff's. I never had the problems other people have had so maybe I was lucky, or they were unlucky. read more

Roadside assistance called this company to pick up my vehicle. 4 slashed tires so they sent a flatbed truck. Driver tries to back up my vehicle then hooks it up from under the back bumper and pulls it toward the flatbed when I can hear it dragging across the concrete of my driveway. I ran toward him screaming that he stopped that he was dragging the vehicle. He stopped and I demanded he look at what he was doing. He started to say he isn't causing any damage. I told him he needed to look; when he said this was all he could do because his truck doesn't get any lower. He put 2x4 under tires but the front of the vehicle was sitting directly on the concrete. The elevation of the flatbed was greater than 45 deg. I asked him why he didn't have dollies and said they didn't have them with this truck. He handed me a business card with Kingsway towing number on it. I stated he needed to tell his boss he damaged my vehicle he suggested I phone them. He asked if I had an air compressor so that some air could be put in the tires to get the car on the truck. Otherwise the car could not get on the vehicle without ripping off the bumper. I filled the tires with air while he pulled the car up. I had two conversations with Garry the Manager. He said he would look into the situation which he admitted to today that he did not. He was supposed to look at the vehicle at the tire shop which he did not do. He did not question the driver, nor did the driver admit to what he did. When I went to see him today about the damages he insinuated that I caused the damages to the vehicle myself. I taped the conversation and his ignorant lying attitude. Unfortunately now I have to make a second claim to my insurance to have this repaired. I acquired an estimate and the damage is $1418.87. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY...They are very dishonest and not qualified to tow vehicles. read more

This is just a shout out to Karl and the dispatchers who treated me with respect and professionalism when I blew my tire out cutting a curb with a metal gutter. Karl is obviously highly experienced and managed to change my tire even though the lug nut was pretty stripped. (Unfortunayely, the original guy who showed up was very new and seemed very unsure of what he was doing. He told me that he couldn't remove the tire due to the lug nut issue and called for a tow before driving off.) When Karl showed up with his giant flat bed tow truck, I was pretty upset (read: balling my eyes out) by this point wondering how much it was going to cost to get towed etc. Karl was so kind, took a look at the tire and immediately went to work changing it for me. Called for a flatbed, standard tow truck arrived 45mins later. Said that I didnt need a flatbed and wanted to tow it anyways. After I requested a flatbed again, one finally arrived.. 1 hours later. Then that driver says that he would need a traffic blocker to block traffic. It was located on a dirt driveway and I can count on one hand how many vechicles have driven by in the last hour. Talk about an easy way to drive the bill up. The last guy wasnt going to have any issue with his other truck. I wish I could post a pic so SM could all chuckle. After I called dispatch to cancel their service, both trucks sat there for an hour until the other company arrived. This is a joke!! I got stuck in the snow. I needed to get out. My roadside assist called Kingsway Towing. They estimated 110 minutes. 30 minutes later I called Kingsway Towing to confirm the time as I have seen bad reviews about this company every where on the net. A lady from this company raised her voice and yelled at "Didn't roadside tell you the time??!!!!!" I responded that I just wanted to confirm the time and my vehicle location. She said that it would be whatever time roadside told you in a very mean tone of voice. I called roadside assist back and requested Auto Rescue because they helped me before with a very nice customer service experience. Roadside advised me that it'd take 30 minutes for Auto Rescue to come out (1/3 of the time which Kingsway Towing estimated). 10 minutes later I got a call from Auto Rescue and they said that someone would be at my vehicle location in 20 minutes with a very nice tone of voice. DO NOT USE Kingsway Towing!!! This saves you ton of time and frustration. read more

I have road side assistance and a warranty on my vehicle that justified calling for assistance in changing a flat tire. (If I did damage to my vehicle by changing my own tire, that would be a problem, if a tow truck driver caused the damage that would be another story.) So I called the road side assistance line and was told it would be a 20 minute wait for a tow truck from Kingsway Towing, which was relatively near by. That was excellent news, I was sure I would be on my way in no time. 40 minutes later I called back as the truck still hadn't showed. I was told it would be another 20 minutes as the truck just left and was on his way. I waited another 40 minutes and called again. That time I was told that the driver was close. From the first call to the time the driver showed was over 2 hours! The part that really annoyed me about the situation was that the dispatch at Kingsway Towing didn't tell me realistically how long I would have to wait but kept saying 20 minutes each time, and that the driver was a total jerk when he did show up. I had not said a word to the driver before he started demeaning me for the amount I had waved to him when I was trying to flag him down. Long story short: Long dishonest wait times, and a jerk of a tow truck driver. If you have a choice, do not use Kingsway Towing. read more

The worst experience I have ever had in the city with any company. Misunderstanding with property manager bikes get towed c'est la vie. Call in advance specify which bikes we are coming to pick up. Told they are open for retrieval of vehicles till 8pm (cool story bro). Call in friend cavalry to move motorcycles, a trailer and a friend. Show up at 7pm sharp pay money for tow and storage. Go around back to pick up property, manager "Gary" comes around back and tells us he doesn't have the man power to remove the bikes off of a trailer on which they are sitting. When we say this is unacceptable he goes off and starts threatening to charge us $250 an hour while we are on the property. Attempts to hop into the driver side of our truck without our consent. Threatens to forcibly push us off the property with a truck. Threatens to call the cops. Proceeds to call the cops. Unfortunately cops are a no show I think they would have sided with us and how you can't simply decide to hold on to someone's property illegally. In all the commotion 4 guys in coveralls come outside to see what's going on. If ever a company in Edmonton deserved to be boycotted this would be the one. read more

After being quoted $145 for a car un-lock from Edmonton Towing, we borrowed an AMA card to get a suggested company. They recommended Kingsway Towing who were there in less than 20 minutes, and explained to us that a simple car un-lock in the city should never cost more than $70-75. It took him less than 3 minutes to unlock the car, and we'll be recommending this company to everyone we know. read more
