The service was very good. Our server was really attentive. We mostly ordered rolls, and we enjoyed it. I love their appy of deep-fried crabmeat balls. So good. Food was alright but outstanding. Choices for dinner AYCE was a decent variety and the typical standard choices. Below my humble opinions Miso Soup: 1st bowl was weak but 2nd was much better. Small bowl serving. Seaweed Salad: Was good but came in a tiny plate, 1 bite you're finished. Garden or Veggie Salad: Lettuce was shredded and had half of a grape tomato. Had Ranch dressing instead of Japanese Ginger. Again very small amount. Salmon Philly Hand Roll: Was very good. A+. Dragon Roll and Rainbow Roll: Not bad Salmon and Tuna Sashimi: Fresh and very good Mackerel Sashimi: Was okay but not good. Salmon Rosette: Big and very good. Beef Roll with Green Onion: Beef was very tough. Sauce was good though. Sushi Pizza: Definitely disappointing. Not good at all. Flying Fish Egg or Eel Sushi Rolls: Not too bad but the pieces were sticking together. Brussel Sprouts Wrapped in Bacon: Has the potential to be a good appetizer but the sprouts were still very hard and not cooked all the way through. Went today for a birthday lunch. We were a total of four people. Arrived shortly after two o'clock and when we tried to place a final selection around 3:20 server said rather rudely we couldn't order because it was past 3:15. No one announced that there was a cutoff and iPad did not flash a message to advise. We were only going to order dessert so don't know why the attitude. Will not recommend this place. If your establishment has such rules at the very least it should be announced or better yet post a sign at the front door so there is no misunderstanding. read more

This place went downhill FAST. Service is slow and extremely inaccurate. If you have you nothing do to and don't care about accurate service or food quality this is absolutely the place for you. Also there was 3 tables so no one was overwhelmed especially our appetite. The food was dry and chewy with the presentation being very grim. It was a kin to taking good food home and putting it in the fridge for two days then throwing it in the old skillet because you have the munchies. In the early days it was a good place but it has become a great example of why you should never ever rest on your laurels. Seven of us went there on New Years Eve for supper. One of us is considered to be an expert on such food. I am definitely not. Regardless, none of us had any complaints. About anything. The food was great and ample. I'm not a fan of sushi, but we had a large selection of dishes besides and all were nicely done. I found the spicing to be subtle and interesting. Yes, as some noted, the meal takes a while and I think the assumption is that you go there to have a good time and not just shovel food down. This is definitely not fast food. We were there at least two hours. The trick is to order a few obvious things, like soup and a few obvious dishes right way, then take more time ordering the next round and the one after. That way, food arrives fairly soon and then keeps coming as it is ready. I was very pleased to find that the place is not noisy, even with the crowd there that night. Our servers were genuine, friendly and helpful. This was my first visit and I'll be back again, I am sure. I notice several uncomplimentary reviews here and I can't comment on their writers' experience. All I can say is that our experience was excellent in all respects. Came here yesterday with a co-worker. The food we ordered and managed to receive was pretty good. We ended up with someone else's food and didn't get all of ours. A lot of the rolls, especially hand rolls fell apart really easily. Fish to rice ratio is a little off. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 4 on account of the terrible waitress though. Completely turned her back to me at all times and wouldn't even look at or talk to me, but was obsessed with my co-worker (constantly asking her if she needs anything, telling her she's very pretty etc) and acted surprised when I asked if I could 'also' have a water. The Good: The decor is nice for an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. Our greeter was surprisingly friendly and we were seated promptly. The washroom was very clean. The Bad: The service is generally slow and not even as good as Okinawa. Don't expect any friendliness or common manners. The prices are not very competitive for Sudbury. The Ugly: The food was deplorable. The maki was sub-par, but edible. The rice and presentation was nothing to write home about. However, our non-sushi orders were a complete disaster. The dim sum looked like a mutated egg and tasted awful. The bacon wrapped shrimp still have plastic wrap around the shrimp. We were unable to send this food back without paying extra on top of the cost of the all-you-can-eat dinner. I was forced to choke down mutant dim sum and had to pick around the plastic. We were then seated by a waitress who had no problem showing her distaste to serving another customer. Service could use some work but overall great food and wonderfully decorated interior. Although the exterior looks a little plain, inside the restaurant it is very nice. The only time id recommend eating her is during lunch when it's only 20$. The server was nice however I felt it was understaffed as there was 1 server for 9 tables, 7 of which had 4 or more people. The food quality wasn't very good, the rice wasnt fresh, the rolls were messy and the soups just tasted awful (particularly the wonton soup). Typically, the servers are kind and welcoming, and the food is fairly good (I don't actually eat sushi, but I eat the other items off the menu). Admittedly, from the time you give the server your order sheet, to the time you get your food, is sometimes excessively long, even when its not busy. It's also a bit expensive. Absolutely delicious sushi! Amazing quality and flavour for an AYCE place. Wish I could have tried everything, so much selection. My only warning would be that the rolls are huge so pace yourself when ordering. The service was definitely slow but it was very busy and they only had a couple staff working tables. It was a Monday evening and clearly they weren't expecting it to be so packed, our waiter was very nice and apologized and he was running like crazy trying to get everyone what they needed. The restaurants ambiance is clean and quiet the food we eat was good even the servings are a bit small but it's ok. The only thing i was disappointed was the breading of the calamari. I saw a new sushi place, so I had to try it. Party of 3 in the afternoon on a Thursday. The decor is nice. Great looking restaurant. Very polite wait staff, although their English was not exactly top notch. Kind of adds to the authenticity in my opinion. We ordered a variety of dishes from the lunch menu. All were excellent. They don't pad the sushi with excess rice like some of the other places do - the portions were generous and everything tasted fantastic. There are only two cons. First, the restaurant has "Licensed under LLBO" on the sign outside, and there are alcoholic beverages on the menu, but they didn't have any alcohol. no sake, no beer - nothing. It might just be temporary, but c'mon - if it's on the menu and the store front sign, you should probably make sure you have it. Second, the wait staff patrols military-style at all times. I found that to be a little amusing. They need to keep an eye out for plates needing to be cleared and orders to be taken, but it seemed a bit too intrusive. Minor nitpicks. After my experience today I will never be eating at Kobe Sushi again. The staff was unorganized and had no clue what tables had ordered which items. The server checked on our table twice in an hour and half span. It took nearly half an hour to get any food from our order and even when it came they only brought half of what we ordered. We placed a large order from the dinner menu, which promptly started to arrive at our table. All items were delicious and had a nice presentation. Anyway, trying to get them to actually give you all you can eat is like milking sand. start off by saying i used to be a kobe sushi fan however things have been going downhill for this place. Today was our worst experience ever in a restaurant ever!! started off when we walked in the door...they are getting take out orders ready and you have to wait to be seated so we waited and waited....finally to our table which happened to be a table right beside the curtain that separates us from the kitchen so we were able to hear the screaming at all times luckily we could not understand what they were saying but the screaming really?? made us feel very uncomfortable...at this point i should have just walked out..but we didnt...so then they bring out some of the food we had ordered...or so we thought...we politley stated that we had not ordered what they were about to place on our table they looked at us confused then went in the kitchen and the screaming would begin again...i can see one thing being brought to the table however every other thing brought to us was something i did not fill out on the card for our order.... the thing is they made us feel bad for declining. when one item was brought to our table we said we didnt order the waiter looked at us disaprovingly???wtf ??? fine so we are now trying to make the best of it and laughing at the screaming coming from the kitchen yet again??? so we made a beline after we received some of the actual things we ordered to go pay at the cash where the waiter implies that the things we turned away saying we did not order were on our sheet we filled out with our table number???? what??? we did not put a table number on our sheet because they do not put table numbers anymore??they were bring us things like sashimi(raw fish) which we do not even eat?? we definitley did not order sashimi thanks!!! they should put the table numbers back on the table so they can track which tables the food belongs on??? they literally walked around today to each of the tables asking did your order dumplings? did you order this until some table finally says yes i ordered that...really?? we are not returning and will be finding another sushi place to visit from now on which is too bad for kobe as we were there about once a month... im sure we are not the only people who go quite a bit who have notice things are not enjoyable there anymore..not spending any more of my money there thats for sure..... just an honest review about our worst dining experience its too bad cause i used to enjoy it there... read more

TERRIBLE!!! Friday night dinner, restaurant is full since another popular sushi place closed due to reno. They only had one person preparing sushi and 2 waitresses. we submitted our first order and more than half of food never came. Asked a few times but nothing. An hour later waitress came and said they lost the first order and asked for what we ordered. Another hour pass by and a few dishes started showing up. We said we'll have to leave and would only like to pay half, since less than half of our food actually showed up. Manager came out. Long story short, argument ensued.
