Omg, I ordered a Chrashi Don & tempura. Tempura is serving hot. Unfortunately I never seen a Chrashi don serving with so much vegetables mixed with 12 slices of sashimi. And the waitress put a bottle of spicy sauce on my table, I wonder why I need that as I think it's only serve with Korean hot pot rice but not Chrashi! Ridiculous the waitress told me that it should put on top of the Chrashi I have tried tons of Chrashi in Japan but never seen this "fusion" at all. Sorry, that's not my cup of tea al all! read more

Two of us only, we waited 30m before our orders were taken and 1h20m before receiving our appetizers--one of the items was not what we ordered. Crazy. Other tables were served their food before us and we had arrived before them. Why have so many tables if you can't serve them in a timely manner? Anyway, we were an hour late for our event. Guys, I would recommend this place. I've been to other sushi places in Sudbury, and those places did not impress me at all. Sapporo Ichibang is the go-to place if you want good sushi. The service is good, staff are courteous and polite, on top of good Japanese food. Their miso soup is complimentary. A thumbs up! The place is neat and clean. I love Sapporo because it's so consistent. Since coming here when it opened, the staff are always lovely people, the sushi is always superb, and the restaurant is always so inviting. It's so nice to see the restaurant evolve and add new things to their menu. My most recent order was the sushi dinner. For everything you get (a dynamite roll and 10 pieces nigiri) it's a sushi lover's dream and bargain. Jeff never fails to impress me. I intend to sample all the newer items on their menu. Visiting from Toronto, so I've eaten at a fair share of sushi restaurants. This restaurant really surprised me considering Sudbury is such a small town! Service: 4.5/5. Pretty good! The server came around a couple times to ask how things were going. Food came out relatively quickly, maybe 15 minutes after ordering. Server had a nice and approachable atmosphere. They were quick in giving us our take out boxes and bill. Food: 3.5/5. The sushi pieces were not amazing, but good enough to finish. A good size to eat in one bite but nothing stuck out to me in terms of taste. Miso soup was lacking in seaweed. Chicken katsu was not as juicy as I would have liked but still good enough to eat. Place: 4.5/5. Interior of the restaurant was nice with darker decor. The sushi chefs were visible when making your food so I thought that was cool. Their dining area and washrooms were clean and stocked up. read more

This place was strongly recommended by Yelpers and by friends in Sudbury. It turned out that nearly twenty people at our conference all had the same idea on the same night. It's right downtown. Seating options were booths and tables. I had the sushi dinner ($20) which was a generous portion for the price. Very tasty, too. Service was fine, although the rest filled up shortly after our arrival. Might be a good idea to make a reservation. read more

Good asian-style food (I wouldn't say it's authentic though) in a reasonably well designed restaurant with attentive service. I went here with my parents on a Tuesday evening. I had the spicy chicken which comes with rice, miso soup and pickled vegetables. They had the vegetable teriyaki which came with the same, though they had salad instead of soup. Food was well cooked and flavourful. Portions were on the smaller size given the price. Miso soup was delicious, not over-salted. The salad was tasty too. The pickled vegetables were suprisingly delicious. No complimentary hot tea, the plastic serving dishes, and the lack of consistency in the decor were minor detractions. Overall a solid experience. Nothing to write home about, but it delivered on everything satisfactorily. read more

The Good: This is the only quality sushi restaurant in Sudbury. The food is quite good, including the maki, nigiri, and sashimi. The rolls are generally well constructed and the rice is good. The fish is top quality given how far Sudbury is from the ocean. The specialty rolls are expensive, but quite large and very appealing to the eye and the tongue. The new decor is very modern and chic, a very welcoming change over the old location. The service is typically good and friendly. The Bad: The prices can be a little steep for Sudbury, but are well worth it. The downtown location is not ideal for denizens of the South End or New Sudbury who do not want to pay for downtown parking. The Ugly: Since the move to a new location, there is nothing significantly wrong with this restaurant. If you want sushi and live in Sudbury, I recommend Sapporo as the only and best choice. read more

Very good sushi here. Went for lunch with my fiance and his mother and all of us enjoyed our meals thoroughly. We finished lunch with an order of sake and it was served at the perfect temperature. Every thing was very fresh. read more

After a series of disappointing restaurant experiences, we were glad to have had a positive one at Sapporo Ichibang. Pros: - No issues with parking. - Simple, tasteful decor. - Lots of choices on the menu - tons of unique sushi rolls and a decent variety of appetizers and entrees. - The tempura was excellent - 2 pieces of shrimp and 7 pieces of varied veggies. - I had the bulgogi and Don had the yaki soba noodles, both of which were large portions. The homemade pickle that accompanies most of the entrees was quite good; I wish I'd had the room to finish it. Cons: - Our friends ordered sushi, which seemed prone to falling apart. - Service, while not bad, was sparse and not particularly memorable. - Prices are a bit steep. I'm glad that we finally got around to trying this highly recommended restaurant; I'm sure we will be returning in the future. read more

It's a fairy nice and small restaurant. Korean owned. Sushi is delicious. I get sushi dinner take out from there often. As for bulgogi that I have tried it was more soupy than I was used to. I sincerely wish that they offer Korean bbq (indoor bbq at table). Overall food was good and atmosphere was good. read more

This is my new go to sushi place! So many of these "all you can eat" sushi places are popping up all over town but they lack quality and finesse. Reasonably priced with excellently prepared and presented food. Fresh ingredients male for delicious menu entries. I will not eat sushi anywhere else in town from now on! read more
