Nice traditional style pub, serving food, car park to rear with beer garden, loads of big screens for all the sports events. Always a warm welcome. Quite often has events outside in the large car park/beer garden. Well worth a visit. read more

Then we had dessert. Me and two in my company got their "hot chocolate with whipped cream". A cute idea, putting ice cream and whipped cream in a cup and then on the side you've got a little cup to poor meted chocolate over it. I would have preferred a smaller serving. The other one in the company had "etton mess" like meringue with strawberry coulis. - The waitresses was nice and friendly. - The restaurant itself could get a lift up. Pretty boring setup not cozy. - A little overpriced I would say

When I brought this issue to the staffs attention, they didn't even offer me anything. Other than that though, the staff was nice. Moldy water just isn't something you should receive at a 5 star hotel... The breakfast selection was abundant and delicious and the facilities were alright. Overall would recommend, but next time I would definitely look at the other options nearby.

The only staff member that has helped us is Ashlee the front desk, girl. When I first called about my son who got a bug bite and it was swelling up really bad and we needed help. The concierge told me that there was no one here to help us and that we could attempt to take him to the emergency room but because we were from out of the country, they probably wouldn't see us. I am so glad I called back and got Ashlee the front desk girl because she is actually a nurse. She came to our room, examined the bites, cleaned them and then wrapped them and sent us to the emergency room where we were completely taken care of without any charge! I do not know why the concierge would have not helped us and gave us more to worry about when we were already stressed out. We also received a $250 smoking charge letter because the housekeeping saw My Husband's cigars and smoking stuff out when he was leaving to go play golf he got his stuff out to take his cigars with him. I took my two year-old son for breakfast and came back to only my bed being made in my room and with a letter under my door stating that we had smoked in our room and we were being charged $250. I called the front desk, asked to speak to a manager and was told that they would call me right back. I had to call three times and wait for two hours before anyone even called me. I am now in my room, waiting for the management to contact housekeeping to see if the charge will be reversed. I find this extremely frustrating, considering how much money we have paid to stay here. I also feel that the rooms are outdated and rundown compared to all the other Fairmont I have stayed in.!

Service was good. We had a server who had just graduated from the University of St. Andrews. She was friendly and welcoming which was a nice change having just spent 2 nights in Edinburg. The wine list was not very impressive and my date ended up ordering a bottle of wine that resembled Capri-sun. I couldn't even drink it. We started with the oyster pair (HUGE oysters, very creamy), deer tartare - couldn't get through one bite of it and Pig's Head on Toast. Appetizers were not a good sign for the rest of the dinner. However the tomahawk steak was pretty good, lobster was overcooked. Soufflé was pretty good. Would give it a higher rating if not for the food. I think you really come here for the views, the putting green overlooking the 18th on the balcony, some gorgeous views vs. the food.

We all decided to eat at the Golf hotel a nice old building from the outside with a sort of 1980's theme on the inside there was no music playing in the background and all we heard in the background was the noise from the public bar in the next room. We all ordered starters but they took forever to arrive, a whopping 45 minutes, the only table that was in was a table of four and they where having their main courses cleared. I ordered the chicken pakora, you got a good size portion and it did taste quite good, everyone else at the table enjoyed their starters. Soon after finishing our main courses arrived, without the tables having been cleared and the waitress had shown impressive skill juggling several meals whilst trying to clear the table at the same time.
