Keang Pa Neua-left (Jungle Curry) & Pad Bai Kraprao (Thai Basil Chili)
    Dan A.

Kinnaree was recommended by a friend for great Thai food in Amsterdam. It was a good day of playing tourist in Amsterdam and we were ready for dinner. We arrived around 6 and the dinner rush hadn't started yet so we were able to get a table outside. Our server was very helpful with explaining some of the menu items and overall the service was excellent. We started with the Mix Kinnaree appetizer that had a variety of apps. We especially enjoyed the Shrimp Tempura & Thai spring roll. For main, we had the Keang Pa Neua (Jungle Curry) & Pad Bai Kraprao (Thai Basil Chili). The Basil Chili dish was excellent and some of the best Basil Chili I've had! On the other hand, the Jungle Curry was ok (wouldn't order again and would try another dish). The complimentary starter was a nice touch and overall Kinnaree lived up to our expectations. We will be back on our next visit to Amsterdam!

Kinnaree came highly recommended by both my hotel and Rick Steves, and for very good reason. This was easily the best Pad Thai I've ever had. Thank you for the wonderful meal!!

Absolutely amazing! When I was yelping places to eat in Amsterdam, I saw a lot of Thai restaurants and decided on Kinnaree for dinner one night. We went in about half an hour before it was closed and they conveniently had 1 table for two left to seat us. The restaurant was packed and there were many patrons outside smoking or drinking as well. The menu had many options but my Mom and I decided on the panang curry and soft shell crab. I wasn't expecting too much as my hometown has some of the best Thai food I've ever had but I was pleasantly surprised. The panang curry had very tender pieces of chicken and was loaded with ingredients and the softshell crab was very flavorful. Two things I want to mention is that both of these dishes were very strongly flavored and came in small portions. I would even go as far as to say that both dishes were a bit overly salty. The flavors met my expectations but the dishes required a lot of rice to balance out the saltiness and left me dehydrated. Also, I was shocked at how small the portions were (only 2 small pieces of softshell crab in that dish), yet they were worth it. Dishes came out to about €20 a dish but were good. Kinnaree has to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants and I would highly recommend it!

We went to this Thai restaurant for dinner in the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam and loved it. They started us off with a small appetizer - some sweet and savory pastes on a leaf - almost like a fresh roll. We didn't order this but it was a great palette cleanser. We ordered our standard Thai faire for dinner - red curry with Tofu and pad thai. Both dishes tasted good and authentic. The portions were also pretty sizable. My only critique to make it even better would be to have a little more curry in the red curry and include a hot sauce. The staff was also friendly and responsive. It's a great option when you are on vacation and craving some soulful familiar Thai food.

I saved this up for us as an evidence to send it to the hospital test the virus inside.

My boyfriend and I have ordered Penang Curry takeaway on 17 October 2021 at Kinnaree Thai - Brick Lane at around 12am. We finished our food at around 1am then went to bed at 2am. At around 5am, I was waken up by the extreme stomach pain and went to the toilet to vomit everything. My boyfriend woke up subsequently and threw up as well. Then the whole night our stomach suffered from extreme pain which we weren't able to sleep. We also had to take a sick leave on Monday as we were still vomiting and having diarrhea the next day. We are still keeping the leftover curry in the fridge so we can bring it to the hospital to examine anytime. Given the very short incubation time (between eating the curry and symptom i.e. severe vomiting onset - around 2/3hours) and the relatively fast recovery time (resolution by the Monday), it is likely that this is preformed toxins. The most likely conclusion is that the curry was left out for the whole day and only recooked at the end of the day, which killed the bacteria but not the preformed toxins. This is ENTIRELY the gross negligence of the company as they should not serve food that is at such risk - either they should have stored the food during the day in a fridge or recooked the curry from scratch at the end of the day. Even if this is not the reason for the toxin formation, given we still have the curry in the fridge, we have physical evidence that some mistake was made resulting in our sickness. We have already contacted relevant solicitor to sue the restaurant, we will not settle unless we have received sufficient compensation form you. *please note that I have forgotten to take pictures right after I vomited as it was at 5am (the middle of the night) so I cleaned up my mess right away because I don't want the smell to stink. Not until my boyfriend told me that I should have taken photos hence I decided to take a few afterwards which hopefully you could see some stains on it. Regardless, as my boyfriend is a doctor, I think his theory is correct and given I still have the curry in the fridge, I am more than happy to send it to a hospital for a test.

Search the world for really good Thai and find some of the best in Amsterdam? Yes. We literally were just walking by, on vacation, and looked at the sign, a couple of outdoor tables, beautiful August late afternoon...OK, let's have Thai for dinner tonight. Black pepper cashew chicken. You're welcome. We really liked this place, a refreshing change from the American version of Thai that is so tiresome and formulated and asks you to choose your spice level between 1 and 5, which I've always thought ridiculous. It should be spiced at a level that complements the dish and brings out the flavors - please bring it to me at the heat level that tastes best for what is in it. Small, unassuming, not the same ol' same ol' - give them a visit if you're nearby.

Pretty good Thai food. Not fabulous, but pretty good. Kind of a mash up of some Indonesian influence as well.

Often times there is a line leading outside to get a table due to the popularity of Bird Thais. The service is friendly and prompt. I've tried a variety of dishes on the menu but of course the classic Pad Thai is one of my top choices. Food is fresh and tasty. This time I tried the Isaan Menu which was a nice collection of spare rib appetizer, Tom Yam Kai soup, and a spicy beef salad. I really enjoyed the flavors of this dish. Unfortunately, I personally didn't like most of the food we ordered. Not sure, but I've tried similar cuisine places where the food tasted better (even popular ones like pad thai and sticky rice). May still be good for you to try, there's a view of the canal on the back part and windows are cracked open. That's the bonus to see during day time.

Our first time visited this restaurant and the overall experience was amazing! The quality of their food was excellent as in the flavor, authentic taste, temperature control and fresh ingredients. Their stir fried crispy pork belly with Kai lan was super good. We could not stop eating while waiting for our masamam curry to be served. The pork belly was roasted with smoky flavor and was really crispy blended well into the brown sauce with some little spicy chili flavor. It was just an awesome dish and goes well with white rice. Their masamam curry was rich and creamy with coconut . The beef was tender, the potatoes was soft and well cooked just at the right time management . With some peanuts in the curry made the entire dish super delicious! We enjoyed their food a lot!. Their service was great and staff was attentive to the customers' request.
